fabletics review

Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. You can shop Fabletics in two ways—you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
  • Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $19.00 for new members. (I’m not sure if “new members” refers to just your first order, though.)
  • Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.

The key takeaway here is that this subscription won’t automatically send you monthly packages like other services do. You have to hop into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

Riley Outfit, Size Medium Top, Size Large Bottoms – Retail Value $114.90, VIP Price $69.95

I felt a little bad picking this all-black outfit this month! Fabletics has a ton of colorful outfits to choose from, especially as we get closer to summer. But on the particular day I was shopping, it was snowing and gray outside (as Prince said, “Sometimes it snows in April…”), the gray was making me drowsy, and all I wanted was to snuggle into a comfy sweatshirt and pair of joggers like this one! I would’ve loved it if it was a bolder color, too (maybe a bold blue or that warm turmeric color that’s been trending recently), though let’s face it—black is one of my favorite colors to have in my closet.

But here’s the thing—this outfit was SUCH a smart pick! Though it may look like a standard knit sweat set, the top is made from 89% Polyester/11% Elastane and the bottoms are 89% Polyester/11% Spandex, so the material is a lot more like a lightweight wicking legging or bra top material. That makes both pieces just warm enough without feeling stuffy. (The best way I can describe it is like sleeping with just a top sheet vs. sleeping with a blanket or a comforter on you.) They’re the kinds of pieces that I’d want to toss over my shorts and sports bra after a hot yoga sesh.

I’m also the type who would tuck a tank into the waistband of these jogger-style pants and wear them while running errands. They’d also be great for weight training days at the gym or dare I say it, lounging super hard on the couch.

Verdict: This two-piece look might be on the simple side, but it’s going to get SO much use from me. I like the sleeker, modern twist on a typical dad-like sweatpants/sweatshirt set.  $20.00 over the baseline $49.95 deposit you put down each month for membership. As usual, I do wish that more looks (there are some, but they’re more basic) were priced closer to that initial deposit amount so that I wouldn’t be spending more on top of what I’ve already committed to. But as usual, I do love the versatile, comfortable, and really nice quality pieces I received!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! Sign up here to nab this look in your size, or browse other styles.

Coupon – New VIP members can use this link to get your two pairs of leggings for $24!

Value Breakdown: This top and bottom cost me $69.95, but the retail value of what I got is $114.90. That’s a savings of about 39%.
