CHC Vintage Accessories March 2018 Review
There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I really enjoy the personalized and thoughtful touch of this card and the handy styling tips that were included. Also, Nicole and the CHC Team mention how the longer they style a client they include fun extra gifts! My first CHC Accessory box I reviewed included an adorable ring plate, but this month’s is even more magical! Wait till you see!
70s Psychedelic Carpet Bag
I literally gasped when I saw this fantastic bag! I love shades of orange and yellow, so the color palette on this is perfection. So warm, yet subdued and wild simultaneously! The condition of this bag is impressive. I sense some extremely hip and cool grandma kept this stored away and preserved for years. It was almost like Nicole and the CHC team are mind readers and knew I would be receiving a dress that matches this bag perfectly from Shoedazzle.com (review soon to come); dang does it match perfectly! This purse would look fantastic with camel skinny jeans, black top, yellow/orange scarf tied at the neck, and Beatle boots for a look that would work great in the office or a night on the town. Create a modern and chic look with your favorite LBD, black moto jacket, and nude pumps.
Jonette Jewelry Spell Book Earrings
Jonette Jewelry, as Nicole and her team state in the card included, was a costume jewelry company that was around from 1935 to 2006. Their jewelry style is rather whimsical and eccentric. I remember seeing pieces like these earrings at Dress Barn shopping with my mom as a kid. They always had items like Cat broaches with dangling tails or Lunar pieces with dangling stars. Me, being the horror dweeb that I am, immediately thought of the Necronomicon from the Evil Dead series. I mean, google it, can you blame me? These earrings are rather unique, but not necessarily my style. I am still pleased with their inclusion since these earrings are such a standout item!
What a pretty brass/gold ring! This ring fits my size 7/8 finger perfectly. I like the fact that the band is not adjustable. The etching on the flower and the ornate detail on the band gives it a handmade feel as well. This is a versatile piece that will be able to be styled in a variety of ways whether formal or casual!
Gold Clamp Bracelet
I love clamp bracelets! Why you ask? Well, because bangles are brutal to get over my hands. I have slender wrists and bangles will fit on my wrists, but there is the challenge of getting them over my hands themselves. This clamp bracelet fits like a dream and will look fantastic with all my gold accessories. Win/win! I also love the classic styling of this piece. It will look amazing with my vintage and modern pieces alike!
Sequin Leopard Print Bat Wing Party Top, No Size—Estimated Retail Value $79, Similar Piece Found on Etsy for $129
I saved the best for last in this review, HOLY SMOKES! Talk about hitting the jackpot! I thought I had lucked out with the gorgeous bag that CHC Vintage picked for me till I saw this beauty! We all know I love some glitz and leopard print; well, this piece marries the two perfectly! I could see Blanche from the Golden Girls wearing this while putting the moves on some young stud. This top is not for a shrinking violet, so you better be ready for a ride on the Sassy Express in this number! The top is made of a thin, non-stretch material that has black sequins over the entire piece and has a mix of sequins and beading on the leopard’s face detail. The batwing sleeve style allows for this to be a One Size Fits Most top. I paired this hot number with a faux leather mini skirt, hoop earrings, and my Bad Sandy heels. I can see this looking PURRfect with black skinny jeans and high heeled pumps or booties as well.
Verdict: I am consistently and constantly blown away by what CHC Vintage Accessory box sends me! There is no doubt that Nicole and her team had me in mind when they sent these pieces my way, they just scream my personality and style! $55 is incredibly reasonable, especially since the sequin leopard top was on Etsy in similar styles for up to $129! Plus, the service is immensely personalized. Such a great value! Getting a box from CHC feels like getting a care package from your best friend— I can’t suggest their service enough!
