Bulu Box is a monthly fitness and weight loss subscription. The original Bulu Box is focused more on fitness and general health supplements, and they also offer a Weight Loss box that focuses more on diet products.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Bulu Box Weight Loss April 2018 Review
There are box variations, and sometimes rather heavy product promotion, so you may not always get the same box as someone else or be able to make the connection to weight loss for each product:
The information cards are now generic rather than describing your items.
There are usually coupons (which may or may not be for items in the box), product literature, advertisements for other subscriptions, etc.
Zaca Recovery Chewables Mixed Berry, x2 – Buy 6 packs for $29.99 (found on sale here for $20.99)
These are vegan and gluten-free, for what it’s worth. These are supposed to help with hangovers. I don’t drink, so I can’t test that aspect of their function. They also allegedly help you recover after workouts, which is when I tried them, but I can’t say I noticed much of a difference. I have a pretty high tolerance for exercise, though. These are sweetened with xylitol and stevia, I’m not such a fan of the flavor of stevia but xylitol I can manage a little better. These have an extract from something called “Japanese raisin tree” but the language on the website is pretty cagey about its benefits (lots of “thought to,” “believed to,” etc. language, which to me means there are no peer-reviewed studies to actually back it up).
Soulja Fit Pre Workout in Blueberry Lemonade, 0.3 oz. – Buy 45 Servings for $38.99
This is caffeinated and contains creatine (which leads to muscle gain when used in combination with a proper lifting program, but also water weight gain) so I mixed it up to taste test only. (Not looking for water weight gain, and I work out at night so also not looking for insomnia.) I think blueberry lemonade works better for me than other flavors of fruit combined with lemon because blueberries are a little sweeter than, say, raspberries, and cut some of the tartness of the lemon. At least, that was the impression I got from trying this. Anyway, if you don’t have any heart problems and are looking to build muscle, this may be worth checking out.
Lipo6 Black Intense Ultra Concentrate – Buy 60 for $45.16 (found on sale here for $39.99)
This honestly terrifies me. You should read the warning label: “Do not consume synephrine, yohimbine, caffeine, or thyroid-boosting compounds from other sources, including but not limited to, coffee, tea, soda and other dietary supplements or medications containing phenylephrine or caffeine or any stimulants whatsoever.” Side effects can include rapid heartbeat, dizziness, severe headaches, and shortness of breath. Also: “This product contains ingredients that may be banned by some sports organizations.” And that’s just a selection of the warnings. Anyway, this is a fat burning product but you have to also exercise and eat better to see weight loss. I am unwilling to give up tea and soda and I don’t need to burn fat right now so this is not a good fit for me (it does appear to be vegetarian, though).
Goodwipes Fresh Body Wipe – Estimated Value $1 (buy 10 here for $9.99)
I have received quite a few of these in subscription boxes lately. I am hoarding them. We had a plumbing problem once and couldn’t shower for four days, and wipes like this saved us from being completely gross. They’re not the same as a shower, but they do in a pinch. These have tea tree oil which may help keep you from breaking out, too.
GoGo Dipperz Roasted Red Pepper Hummus and Multi-Grain Sea Salt Pita Chips – Buy 6 sets for $18
This came in the Vegan Cuts snack box this month, as well. The pita chips are a little hard (and kind of small and fragmentary) but overall, this is not bad. Plus, it is convenient – no measuring hummus from a larger container. This is supposed to come in a round cup but I guess the cups didn’t fit in the standard Bulu Box boxes so they put the pita chips and hummus in the box free like this.
Lavle Belgian Dark Chocolate, x2 – Buy a 15-Day Supply for $14.90
I’m having a little trouble determining how many pieces of chocolate are in a “15-day supply” (i.e, I don’t know if you eat 2 pieces or 1 piece per day). Anyway, this is 65% cacao chocolate whereas I usually see 75% or better recommended to get all the benefits of flavanols (antioxidants) in dark chocolate. On the other hand, the manufacturer is pretty specific about the vitamin, mineral, and flavanol content, so if you are not a fan of the flavor of darker chocolate, this may still work. These have some dairy and soy ingredients although I would not say they taste like milk chocolate. The soy is probably lecithin, an emulsifier.
Vital 4U Liquid Energy, x2 – Buy 24 pouches for $27 (found on sale here for $25.65)
I am a fan of the Vital4U vitamin C shots, which I also discovered in Bulu Box. These, not so much. It may be a flavor thing. These are coffee-flavored and I detest coffee. These have about the same amount of caffeine as one cup of coffee, which is not too bad (and it did wake me up during a slow afternoon). Just to be clear, you can carry these around and you just drink the contents straight. I suppose if you were trying to avoid the flavor, you could mix them in something else, but that sort of defeats the purpose of a quick pick-me-up.
Verdict: There were seven items in this month’s Bulu Box (weight loss version), counting the chocolates as 1 item together. How much value to assign to each depends on how much you paid for the box. If you paid full price, they average out to $1.43 apiece. I got in on a $5 for life deal, so the average cost per item is $0.71 for me (use code MYSUB599 to get your subscription at $5.99 per month, for life!). Other deals are possible, so your average depends on how much you paid. I feel that the contents this month were more focused on weight loss than usual, which is appreciated since that is the point of the box, but do be aware that if you have hypertension or a heart arrhythmia or a similar health problem, you are going to get a lot of supplements with this subscription that may not be advisable to take, considering your medical condition.
I’d strongly recommend using our MYSUB599 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular or the weight loss box, but not both since there is a lot of product repetition between the two. Please also note that instead of getting points you can redeem for merchandise if you review your samples, now you get sweepstakes entries, which isn’t as good of a deal (unless you are the winner…).
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, May would be your first shipment. Also, keep in mind that there are variations in the boxes, so your box might not be exactly like mine in any given month.
Coupon - Use our coupon code MYSUB599 to get your subscription at $5.99 per month, for the lifetime of the subscription!
Value Breakdown: At $10 for the box, you are paying about $1.43 per item. If you got the $5 for life deal, you’re paying about $0.71 per item.
