Bubbles & Books February 2018 Review
This month's book is volume 1 in a full series that takes you through the seven deadly sins. This book takes us through lust and envy as we follow the students at Haven High. I am a sucker for some high school drama and absolutely love the interaction between all of the characters as they try to get exactly what they want, Adam and Beth to break up! The characters seem very mature from what I remember high school being like. I kind of love it! The drama, the love triangles, the planning, the lust, and the evny all make for one dramatic read that has completely sucked me in. From Amazon:
Let the sinning begin. The first two volumes in a scandalous series are now available in one book.
Adam and Beth are the golden couple of Haven High. He’s the all-American jock, she’s blonde perfection, and everyone loves them. Well, almost everyone. Harper has had her eyes on Adam for ages, and Kane wants to get his hands on Beth…but neither can figure out how to make their desires reality.
So they team up with the new girl Kaia. She’s hot, she’s devilish, and she has the perfect plan to get Harper and Kane exactly what they want. But Kaia wants something, too—and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get it.
When Lust and Envy combine, drama is never far behind…
Butt Naked Scrub by Bubbles & Books Soaps
This handmade soap is straight from Bubbles & Books, but I wasn't able to find it for sale in their online shop. The soap is made with all natural ingredients including olive, coconut, soybean, and corn oils. The scent is extra fruity with hints of pear, apple, and orange. I didn't get a huge scent from this one, normally when I open my monthly box I can smell the soap right away, but I thought the pink collar of this bar was so pretty and vibrant. I added this to my powder room at home for decoration and to add a little extra fruity scent in the small space.
Wine Kisses Lip Gloss in Chardonnay - Retail Value $2.99
This gloss was super powerful, leaving my lips feeling extra hydrated! I love that is doesn't have a color so it is really focused on healing and hydrating. I received the chardonnay flavor of the wine kisses, but you can select from a wide range of other flavors. I didn't get a strong wine flavor, just an overall sweetness. This gloss is handmade with shea butter, cocoa butter, Kosher soy wax, Acai butter, wine, oils, Chardonnay wine, and mica shimmer. I found this to be a great gloss to use as a primer before applying many of my matte lipsticks or to use for extra hydration before bed.
Hearts Gold, White, Red Hair Tie - Retail Value $1.10
This hair tie is so cute with the little golden hearts! I love these handmade ties because they provide a stronghold for my thick hair, but they don't dent or damage the hair. Plus, they are super cute in your hair or even just resting on your wrist.
This little bookmark is so cute and super sturdy! I never have bookmarks when I start a new book that I usually end up using a piece of paper or even the receipt from the book that I just bought. Since this bookmark is so unique, I know it is something that I will hold onto to use with each of my new books. This item didn't come with any packaging so I am not sure who makes it, but I am very impressed with the quality and fun design.
Verdict: This month's Bubbles & Books was from the Bad Boy collection and featured an extra steamy book that is filling me with the drama that my life no longer has. I always love that I can count on receiving a new bar of soap each month, even though this month's wasn't very fragrant, I loved the look of it. The other items this month were smaller, but I really appreciate that everything comes from brands that are making handmade goods that are usually made with all natural ingredients. So even though the monthly cost of the box does seem a bit high for what you receive month to month, I love learning about these small businesses and that I can count on receiving a new book!
