What a nice touch: a sexy personalized note accompanying my box. I feel special!!
So Posh Beauty Facial Steam, Sample Packet – Retail Value $6.00
I’m familiar with this brand I received their body oil in a previous box and was pleased with the results. I have tried facial steams at home once before; I received a facial steam in my We Are Onyx box last year. So, I was happy to receive this product. The facial steam has calendula flowers, thyme, sage, rose petals, rosehip, jasmine flowers, chamomile flowers, dandelion root, witch hazel leaf, comfrey leaf, yarrow leaf, and elderflowers.
I received a sample packet good for two uses. I poured half the packet into a pot and added 3 cups of boiling water and draped a towel over my head and engulfed my head in the steam for 10 minutes. The floral blend intends to open my pores, cleanse my skin, and reduce inflammation. I can refrigerate and use the excess water with a clay mask or as a toner. I felt refreshed after using the facial steam, and I believe my pores are happy, too.
Momma Makes Scents Snow Kissed Sugar Whipped Sugar Scrub, 4 oz. – Retail Value $5.00
This sweet smelling handmade sugar scrub has a blend of sweet almond oil and refined sugar. The sugar scrub is less harsh and granular than a salt scrub. The scrub felt like whipped body butter. It’s lightly scented and has a rich lather and left my skin soft.
Gorgeous Glo Body Care Luxe Whipped Body Butter, 4oz. – Estimated Value $7.50 (buy a full-size jar for $14.99)
This body butter in vanilla cupcake is thick, and a little goes a long way. It has no greasy residue, and it tackled my dry skin. It’s lightly scented, and the scent reminded me of almond oil. The body butter has marula oil, argan oil, and shea butter. I’m not a fan of body butter; each body butter seems to be too thick for my taste, and this body butter was a disappointment. I’ve yet to find a body butter I like, any suggestions, please let me know. If you like your body butter thick and creamy, and it hydrates your skin, then this is the product you need.
Kiia Bath and Body Essence Body Mist, 4oz. full size! – Retail Value $8.00
This body mist is perfect for my after shower routine or as a hair mist. The mist is not alcohol based like most body mists; instead, it has fragrance oil and Cyclomethicone. The mist has scents of lush florals and woodsy elements; I picked up the floral scent. It’s cool, refreshing, and the scent is barely noticeable.
Phillip Ashley Chocolates – Estimated Value $10.00 (buy a 12-piece box for $49)
I received a small box with two chocolates, “cabernet balsamic and chardonnay triple crème cheese.” The cabernet balsamic is shaped in a heart and has a dark chocolate cream filling it was rich and had a strong chocolate aftertaste. The chardonnay triple crème cheese chocolate has a cream filling and taste of vanilla, lemon, and there was a familiar sweet taste that I couldn’t pinpoint the actual flavor, either way, this one was better than the heart-shaped chocolate. The chocolates were handcrafted in small batches using the finest ingredients with fair trade chocolate. I didn’t find this particular product on their website, so the value is an estimate.
Bonus Item: Single Rose
Enclosed in the box is a rose. ZaaBox nows how to pamper its subscribers!!!
The Verdict: OMG, this was the best box I have received that aims at pampering its subscribers, and they delivered!! Plus, the steamy handwritten note from Mr.Strong had me blushing. ZaaBox was new to me before reviewing, and I’m impressed by their mission to deliver luxury products that are all natural by black-owned business, which they succeed in doing. As indicated on their homepage, they will send five full-sized products and this box sent out deluxe size products. For the price point, I would have expected more full-size products, so this is a disappointment. Even though the products weren’t full size, the quality of the products are impressive, and sometimes the quality of the products curated in beauty/lifestyle boxes overrides the retail value of the box. The personalized handwritten note was an encouraging gesture, and I wonder if the note is for first-time subscribers or if I will receive a note each month. I wouldn’t mind receiving a sexy personalized note each month.
The Wrap Up:

Values Breakdown: The box cost $39.95 after shipping, but I estimate that I received $36.50 in value a little below the cost of the box with shipping. That means I spent approximately the following on each item:
- Facial Steam: $6.57
- Sugar Scrub: $5.47
- Whipped Body Butter: $8.20
- Body Mist: $8.76
- Chocolate: $10.95
