item breakdown for February 2018 Yummy Bazaar World Sampler Box

Inside, you'll find descriptions of all the snacks included in the box, plus their country of origin and ingredients (if the ingredients on the package are not already in English.) This is super helpful for anyone who needs to know what goes into their food, and definitely a best practice for international food boxes!

Lorenz Hot and Spicy Pomsticks Lorenz Hot and Spicy Pomsticks on plate

Lorenz Hot and Spicy Pomsticks, 3.5 oz. - Retail Value $2.95

CAN'T. STOP. EATING. THESE. SEND. HELP. These Hot & Spicy Pomsticks from Germany are a thinner, slightly less intense version of my beloved Andy Capp Hot Fries. I keep shoveling these into my face and loving every second of it. They're just spicy enough without going overboard and aren't so coated in flavor that you can't taste it.

2 bags of Triko Garlic Green Peas Triko Garlic Green Peas spilling onto plate

Triko Garlic Green Peas, 2 sample size packs - Buy a full-size pack of 25 for $5.85

Well, these are just delightful. Each little packet is a serving of delicious garlic-seasoned dehydrated peas. A great little crunchy snack that seems healthier than your average American junk food, that's for sure. The garlic flavor is delicate but packs plenty of tanginess. This is probably the only way you'll get me to ingest peas.

Venchi Extra Fine Prendivoglia Venchi Extra Fine Prendivoglia on plate

Venchi Dark Chocolate Prendivoglia - Buy a pack of 10 for $19.50

Oy, so much chocolate this month! But listen, I won't turn away a dark chocolate bar filled with hazelnut, ok? This small bar is divided into three squares and delivers a very rich chocolate experience to your taste buds. This little bit is actually just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth when it comes a-knockin'. Well done, Italy. You know what you're doing.

Knorr Cup of Soup in Cream of Asparagus packet other side of Knorr Cup of Soup in Cream of Asparagus packet Knorr Cup of Soup in Cream of Asparagus in mug

Knorr Cup of Soup in Cream of Asparagus, 0.4 oz single packet - Buy a box of 3 packets for $4.25

I swear, even though I got the cream of asparagus variety, this tasted very potato-y to me. Not as creamy as one would hope, this single serving cup of soup was still tasty and had some asparagus bits floating around in a thin broth. I've had worse soups. In a pinch, this one is actually not too bad. I just had a thought: could this be made with hot milk instead of water to bump up the creaminess? 🤔

Ulker Peki Fruit Cake Ulker Peki Fruit Cake on plate Ulker Peki Fruit Cake cut in half on plate

Ulker Peki Fruit Cake, 1.41 oz. - Listed Retail Value $0.95

Fruitcakes get a bad rep around the holidays but I'm not sure why. Bread and cake rules and this one is ultra-moist and cakey. It's honestly just like a fruity muffin, which I enjoy with coffee or tea. This one seems to have grape, orange, and maybe guava (?), judging by the package. I thoroughly enjoy this little cake.

Lago Hazelnut Wafers Lago Hazelnut Wafers on plate

Lago Hazelnut Wafers, 1.5 oz. - Retail Value $1.45

You cannot go wrong with hazelnut cream wafers. You just can't! I think I said "oh hell yea" when I opened the box and saw this inside. It took everything I had to not eat this whole package while photographing it. My self-control with food is improving! However, I can now allow myself to devour this crispy wafer goodness filled with creamy hazelnut filling so I can report back to you, dear readers. Very light and airy!

Verdict: Yummy Bazaar World Sampler Box was pretty freaking awesome this month! After reviewing the larger full experience box for a while now, I can appreciate this fun sampler size of six items a little more. Instead of one country, this one kind of bops around and gives you a little taste of the world. Those Pomsticks were number one in my heart this month, but I truly enjoyed everything (even if the soup wasn't so creamy).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. If you subscribe today, you'll receive the March box which ships between the 15-18th.

Ohhhh well, that makes so much more sense. Guava makes none. Thanks, Jenny! I clearly need to study up on my fruit.

I think I’m going to sign up for this, I love trying new snacks. With teenagers in the house, anything that I won’t eat, they sure will. That’s a pic of a fig on the fruit muffin. I want one of those, looks yum.

Teens seem to eat anything, huh? Lucky for me, I have an adult male roommate that will consume all things I bring home as well. Thank you for the fig identification!!
