Wantable Style Edit Plus Clothing March 2018 Review

When I signed up for this service, I took a pretty lengthy quiz in which I indicated my price, size and style preferences. I would expect what I receive to be reflective of my tastes, and for these boxes to vary quite a bit from subscriber to subscriber. There is also a note from my stylist, Christina. It explains why she chose the items she picked for me.

This is the invoice of the items they sent me this month. On the right, it shows my cost to keep each item. The total comes to $475. If I keep everything, I get 20% off, plus I get my $20 styling fee deducted. That means a potential discount of $115. That's a deep discount!

Emma Shaker Stitch Sweater by Meritage

Emma Shaker Stitch Sweater by Meritage - Cost to Keep $74

I love a good cotton sweater! This is nice and thick and super comfortable. I think I just prefer the way cotton feels on my skin to almost any other fabric. I also really like this color! I just don't know about getting a thick sweater in March. It's about to get hot here in Georgia.

Sayuri Flat Front Dress Pant by Kut From The Kloth - Cost to Keep $98

I am currently in the market for nice dress pants, and I really wanted to like these, but they just don't fit well. They are too long and too tight in the waist, and the fabric makes my legs look bulgy. I am wearing them in every picture, so you can see that they work with some items, but generally, they do not work. I usually love everything by Kut From The Kloth!

Here's a close up of the fabric:

Camo Pocket Tee by Z Supply

Camo Pocket Tee by Z Supply - Cost to Keep $45

This is the second time Wantable has sent me one of these distressed tees from Z Supply, and I really don't like them much, I'm afraid. Is it a generational thing that I don't want to spend $45 on a tee that looks like it's on its last legs? Is this what the kids are wearing? The cotton fabric is too thin for my tastes, and the cut is too long to be flattering also. This is also the picture in which you can best see why these pants do not work, so it might be coloring my opinion a bit, too.

Spencer Denim Jacket by Meritage -

Spencer Denim Jacket by Meritage - Cost to Keep $78

This jacket fits like a glove! It's just the right length in the torso and the sleeves! On the other hand, I'm not really in the market for a denim jacket, and again, it's about to get hot here in Georgia.

Stella Cinch Top by Kiyonna

Stella Cinch Top by Kiyonna - Cost to Keep $64

I love Kiyonna! I love the draping on this knit top. This might be my favorite piece in the box this month! I think the vertical stripes are flattering in addition to the usual Kiyonna pizazz. The stripes make it a little more unusual, too.

Ruffle Short Sleeve Top by W. by Wantable

Ruffle Short Sleeve Top by W. by Wantable - Cost to Keep $58

This top is also super cute! I like the shorter bell sleeves as we transition into warmer weather. Otherwise, this is a basic black knit top, but I think the cut is really good for me also.

Sunset Stroll Bellini Cardigan by Kiyonna - Cost to Keep $58

I didn't think about how bad the previous top would look under this cardigan because of the bell sleeves, and my husband (the photographer) didn't catch it either, so I have to apologize for the bulky sleeve action. That would not happen with a normal top underneath! I really like this cardigan! It's a super soft, lightweight cotton knit which is perfect for spring. It's also really figure-flattering with the drawstring tie under the bust. For all these reasons, I already own this exact cardigan in navy! I don't think I need to also have it in black. Or do I?

The Verdict: I really love my Wantable Style Edit! This month was a mixture of hits and misses, but I just love the striped top and the black top. I feel like in terms of cost and value, Wantable sends a good mix of inexpensive and pricier pieces. I also love that they send seven pieces! It's so fun!

Very dull box.

Depressing in every way. No one would want to walk out of a used clothing store with that first outfit (Kut pants and camo t-shirt) even if it cost $10 let alone $120. The Kiyona striped shirt is just weird (and probably isn’t being worn correctly – that wrap coming over the boob seems wrong).

Everyone who has done plus subs over the past year or two owns at least one of the Kiyona cardigans and they don’t look more exciting in black.

I personally don’t see the lure of the black ruffle sleeve top – the ruffles start right at the widest part of the arm and just make it look wider. And the denim jacket and heavy cotton sweater feel like filler.

What a mish mash of overstock items – if it were me, I’d write and request a full re-style because this box is completely off the mark…

The only item I see you looking your best in if the Ruffle Short Sleeve Top by W. by Wantable, its super cute on you and the cut is very flattering

Love your reviews and felt this box was a miss for you. Not sure this hit the mark for transitional Georgia weather and love you in more colorful, fun pieces.

Nothing “wowed” me with this shipment.

I’m with you, the vertical stripes and unusual drape on the Kiyonna top make it a flattering and unique blouse for spring. It’s a keeper!

The only keeper here is the ruffle short sleeved top, if only because some of the others are duplicates for you, or unseasonable. As for the striped top, go by the votes – not flattering!

I always look forward to your reviews! This one was great – I loved the jacket and the shirt with the bell sleeves. What a fun detail!

But OMG at that distressed camo tee with that sad, saggy lil’ pocket. Please know that it’s NOT your fault – it’s the shirt’s fault. Who intentionally makes floppy pockets!?

Beth

I was coming here just to say that about the camo tee!!

Bad floppy pockets can make it look like one boob is smiling. I’m all for letting my boobs decide their own mood. — this is the reason I NEVER buy t-shirts with pockets!!

I third the above. There’s a commercial on TV right now with a man on a date wearing a very worn out, tired t-shirt. This one reminds me of that one.
