Unique Vintage February 2018 Review
You never quite know what you’re going to get with this subscription. It could be a party dress or one that you could wear to work. Let’s see what I got this month:
There isn’t an information card with this subscription. There was a card asking you to share your information on social media.
A couple of notes:
(1) This is the February shipment. Unique Vintage changed the way they do billing and my package came super late compared to previous months, as a result.
(2) With respect to billing, instead of auto-billing your credit card every month, Unique Vintage will now send you an email. If you want a dress that month, you’ll click through the email and pay and they’ll ship it out to you. If you don’t want a dress that month, simply ignore the email. What is nice about this: (a) if your credit card number changes or you want to use a different card, you don’t have to arrange for them to call you at billing time but you can just enter the appropriate information at check-out, (b) you can now use Amazon pay, and (c) there’s really no reason to cancel because it’s opt-in (instead of opt-out like JustFab) so you can just ignore the emails permanently if you want.
Unique Vintage 1950s Light Pink Delores Swing Dress with Sleeves – Retail Value $88
I like this a lot. I’ve been going through a pink phase lately and, while hot pink is still my favorite, lighter pink tones are growing on me. This fits wonderfully (there is a little bit of stretch to the fabric so it feels great around the waist) and the style is something I can totally wear to work. It’s a good color for spring and I can make some jewelry to go with it; I recently went on a hot-pink-vintage-bead-buying binge.
Here is a view of the back. This was easy to zip on my own (no help required), which makes it even better for work.
I know the skirt is a little wrinkled and I’m open for suggestions there. This came super wrinkled and the label says DO NOT IRON. I tried putting it in the dryer on low with some towels and a damp washcloth, and that sort of helped (I didn’t leave it long as you’re not supposed to put it in the dryer at all). I also tried hanging it in the bathroom while I was taking a shower and that sort of helped as well. But I feel like I could do a better job, I’m just out of ideas.
Verdict: The dress I received has a retail price of $88, which I think is a great value. It is new merchandise as always (a new style and not a closeout). This is comfortable and work-appropriate, and the style suits me as well.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, all boxes ship out at the beginning of each month so you will receive the April shipment.
Value Breakdown: This box costs $57 including shipping and I received a dress that retails for $88. That is a savings of about 35%.
