Now, on to the items!Target Beauty Box Review - March 2018

Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Foam Conditioner – 1.4 oz Value $1.40

This foam conditioner designed for fine to medium hair. You use it how you would normally use conditioner, just wait for the foam to absorb, then rinse out. My hair isn’t fine, so I don’t have the issues of regular conditioners weighing it down, but this still worked as a regular conditioner for me

St. Ives Skin Renewing Collagen & Elastin Body Lotion - 2 oz Value $.46

This is a lightweight lotion that absorbs quickly with no greasiness. I appreciate that St. Ives is ingredient conscious with their formulation, but I wish this didn't have added fragrance. I'm not a big fan of the scent.

Nexxus Dry Shampoo Refreshing Mist – 1.15 oz Value $2.76

This dry shampoo checks all the boxes for me: Unscented. Goes on Clear. Color Safe.

And of course, it absorbs oil well, too!

OLAY Microscrubbing Cleansing Infusion Hydrating Glow Body Wash - 1.7 oz Value $.42

This creamy body wash has a super fine body scrub as well, combined with a lovely ginger scent. Usually I prefer my Dove products unscented, but this product has won me over!

Wet n Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Squad in Sweet as Candy - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $2.99

Ah, memories! (Wet n' Wild was my makeup brand of choice when I first started buying makeup in middle school!)

I always appreciate when eyeshadow palettes give instructions on how to use the shades for an eye look, too.

Here are all the shades swatched:

Great pigment for the price point and these were easy to blend, too. Definitely use a primer, though!

No. 7 Early Defense Glow Activating Serum -  5ml Value $4.16

This serum is designed to fight the signs of aging, dullness/uneven tone, and fine lines, plus it is safe for sensitive skin. I like the No. 7 brand, and this serum made my skin instantly softer and smoother - just like a primer but better for my skin!

Clairol Color Crave Hair Makeup - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $7.99

This was super easy to use. (Just apply it with the sponge-tip applicator to dry hair and use a hairdryer to set.) But sadly, it didn't show up on my dark brown hair. I had high hopes given the color of the model's hair on the box, but I think this is best for people with light hair.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $20.18. That's great for a $7 Target beauty box, plus the $3 beauty coupon always adds value to me. This box would have been more of a hit for me if the hair makeup worked, but I'm still happy with the value + items included.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No this box sold out in under 24 hours. Make sure to sign up for the My Subscription Addiction daily newsletter so you don't miss the next one!

My palette arrived smashed as well, looks like not many survived shipping, unfortunately.

I didn’t buy this box. The only item of interest for me was the hair color. Having read the comments it seems it would not work out well for me with dark brown hair. O well, maybe next month.

I love this lotion and hope I can find the same formula unscented, it’s a great lotion but I’m not fond of the scent.

My box arrived on 3/16, with smashed palette all over all the other items too. I just did chat and got a $2.99 credit back. Totally bizarrely inconsistent customer service!
I got the purple hair color, which does not show on my dark brown hair but actually looks cute on my daughter’s very light brown hair.

After ordering the box, I received an email saying that Target had canceled my order. Then 24 hours I received a second emails stating that it had been canceled in error and that I would still receive my box but would not be charged due to the error on their part. When the box arrived, the eye shadow had shattered/exploded inside the box and was completely unusable. A call to Target produced no results as the rep who had problems communicating in English asked me why I was calling since I was not charged for the box. I asked if I could have a replacement eye shadow and he told me that since I was not charged for the box, there was nothing that he was going to be able to do to help me. I guess I should jut be happy that I wasn’t ever charged for my box and the other items are still usable if I wipe off the chocolate colored eye shadow,

My box arrived with brown powder between the plastic shipping wrap and the box so I knew I had received a broken palette before I even unwrapped it. Sure enough, the palette had two completely empty pans. I reached out to Target via chat and Mary asked me to send photos to determine how they would proceed, which I did. The next day I received an email with a $1.00 refund and instruction to return the box to a Target store (an hour away) for a full refund. This seemed like more hoops for me and a poorer response from Target than others here received. Is this just my perception? I wanted to check in before I responded to Target. It isn’t about the $$$, it is about the consistency of the customer service offered. Thank you!

I just reached out and received a full refund for the entire box. Definitely reach back out.

Amalia

Yep, totally out of line. I just did chat for my busted palette, and they quickly credited me back $2.99. No need to send photos!

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

That was way too demanding of them, a store like Target doesn’t care enough about some $7 item to want it back.

I suggest that you call them again or write them in chat and say that the solution they have thus far proposed is unacceptable. I bet they will offer the full refund then.

My box arrived with brown powder between the plastic shipping seal and the box so I knew right away I had a busted up palette waiting for me inside. Sure enough, two of the pans were completely empty! I contacted Target via chat and Mary requested I send photos so they could determine how to proceed. I sent pictures of the contents of the box coated with eye shadow as well as the palette with two empty pans. The next day I got an email apologizing for the mishap and $1.00 refund and told me I could physically return the box for a full refund. (Target is an hour’s drive away from me). This seemed like a quite a disparity from others’ response from others response from Target customer service. I wanted to know before I respond to Target if anyone else had this experience or if this disparity is my own perception. Thank you!

My palette was also crushed/busted up. I haven’t tried cleaning the powder off of everything yet–seems like I might be in for some serious scrubbing lol. I used the chat feature last night (wasn’t able to get through at 7:45-8pm when I originally tried, so waited until 11:30ish and got someone right away). He offered to give a partial refund, but I asked if they could ship another shadow instead, which he agreed to. Like Liz, Wet N Wild was my cheap go-to in middle school and I was really looking forward to using it for “makeovers” with my niece.

JuJu

Well, the Wet N Wild then, and Wet N Wild *now* are really not the same brand anymore.

My palette arrived with a small chip out of the brown shadow. Not a lot, but enough to lightly coat the interior of the box.

It took me a while to realize it was from the palette because the chip was so small. Didn’t even both contacting Target, it was really just that small. But I can see how if the whole pallet was smashed, what a mess it would be!

This was a great box for me. I was really happy with it. Seven bucks well spent!

So I was super excited to get this box to try the hair makeup stuff. 2 days pass and I receive an email stating that my box was cancelled because of a bad address, meanwhile I’d just gotten a target order the day before and 1 due the following day. So I called CS and the lady wasn’t helpful at all. After 10 frustrating minutes, I hung up. Target sent an email later that day informing me that they are coming up with a solution. The next day, they sent me an email stating they are sending the sold out beauty box for free. However, I haven’t received my money back for their mistake. I won’t call them to fight this but I won’t jump to buy another box for awhile.

I was fortunate my palette arrived well. I got the red hair make-up and was hoping for the purple. Otherwise, very happy with this box for $7.

Diana-
I have the purple but would love the red, any interest in a trade?

Wow, how is it that so many have gotten the box already? I really don’t understand shipping! I ordered on March 5, got a notice that the item had shipped on the 9th, and current delivery estimate is the 15th. I am in California… is that why?? At least now I know to open it outside, in my grubbiest clothes!

You can’t sign up like a subscription, just make sure you’re signed up for Liz’s newsletter & she emails you as soon as it’s released. I think it’s usually the first Monday of the month

My box arrived and sure enough, an explosion of brown powder (with staying power!). I used chat online and Mariel only offered a replacement box. I asked “What if this happens again?” and was told in that case I could contact them for a refund. So we’ll see what happens. I suspect I won’t get exactly the same box. Can’t even use some of the items for gifts since the eyeshadow stained both plastic and cardboard. Don’t want to try soap on paper!

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy

How do you contact target through their chat ? I had ordered two boxes unfortunately one of them had the major brown compact explosion and the other one was fully intact !!

Reply ButtonReply

Nancy

Mine came the same way. Since I was one of the fortunate ones that got the box free, I wiped everything off and tossed the eyeshadow. No great loss really, not worth contacting them. l do give unwanted things to the womens shelter here, and I am sure they will understand if the packaging is soiled with an explanation.

Same thing happened to me. When the package was shipped they placed the eye shadow on top. Of course the darkest color exploded all over everything . I wasn’t offered a new box but they refunded me the $3.00 cost of the eye shadow.

Great customer service!!! Broken palette – Target refunded me the entire cost of the box and had previously refunded me the REDcard discount which did not apply at purchase. I didn’t ask for a refund for anything, just emailed them to let them know my experience. I wouldn’t have used the palette anyway, but it definitely has some staying power as it took some scrubbing to get it off the other products in the box.

Reply ButtonReply

LT

I also had a broken palette with and explosion all over the box and had to rinse the other product off! I called CS and was refunded the cost of it which was $3.20.
The hair color I received was a reddish color which I haven’t tried yet.
I was happy to receive a credit. I hope in the future they figure out a way to send these out to prevent breakage.

My eye shadow arrived in good condition. The box was a great deal and I gave the hair color to my 15 yr old daughter.

Like some others, my palette was pulverized. I opened the box and a cloud of color spread all over my bathroom. It’s even underneath the caps on some items. The palette has good staying power because it stained everything. On some items, I couldn’t get it all off with soap and water. Would have liked to try it. Customer care at Target was wonderful. They refunded the whole amount on a gift card. I didn’t ask for it; they just did it.

Sunday, the day after I received the box, Target put out their next beauty box for March. Four hours after I received the email from MSA, it was sold out. I wish they had credited me for the new box!

My palette was destroyed as well! I was so disappointed 😔

Sorry I posted three times. I didn’t hit submit on the first two so I didn’t know it posted.

I ordered 2 boxes and my palette was also broken and strewn all over everything—in BOTH boxes! I was really bummed cuz the palette was what I was most looking forward to. I called right away and their customer service was fabulous. They offered to send two new boxes but I declined since I’m sure the same thing would happen since there was no bubble wrap or protection for the palette. They were kind enough to refund the entire purchase price. I was thrilled with that!

this box was basically a total bust for me since I got a broken palette and the hair makeup (amethyst) didn’t show up on even the blonde highlights in my hair. They did refund me $2 for the broken palette, which I thought was fair. The hair makeup was the whole reason I wanted it in the first place. Womp, womp.

Reply ButtonReply

Alisha

I was hoping for that color , but received the purple which I gave to my daughter. Thanks for letting me know that color doesn’t show up. I won’t waste my money.

My palette arrived smashed with powder all over the box.

Has anyone tried the hair makeup on grey/silver/white hair? I know grey hair often rejects color. 75% of my hair is brown, and I still have a swatch of pink left from last year (dry shampoo is my BFF!). I guess I’ll try swapping for one and find out!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

I hope a lot of people don’t expect a refund for the entire box over a broken Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette. IMO 2$ credit is more than enough to make up for it if you want to buy it. I received a broken one in my box too but it’s not really a big deal.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

I didn’t *ask* for a refund. I asked them to send me just the palette. They said no, we can’t do that, but we’ll refund your box.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

I asked for the same thing and was refunded a measly $2.

Beth

Personally I’m super grateful that they refunded me for the whole cost of the box, because I had one of the completely exploded palettes. I get covered in palette dust any time I open the box, so none of the products are really as usable as I hoped they would be! I think maybe customer service is refunding inconsistently, because some of us have it worse than others.
