Olive + Piper Valentine’s Surprise Box Review

I really enjoyed my last surprise box from Olive + Piper, so I was excited to see what they included in this one.

The packaging was just lovely for this box! I received a little handwritten note which adds a personal touch. Let’s look at the jewelry first and I’ll show you the extra goodies later.

Each piece of jewelry came in its own dust bag which is perfect as a polishing cloth in a pinch. It also makes gifting easy if any of the pieces aren’t your style.

Lulu Crystal Collar Necklace

Lulu Crystal Collar Necklace - Retail Value $48

Sparkly crystal collar necklaces have been showing up everywhere lately so I am happy to see this vintage-inspired one in my box. The marquise and rectangular crystals are made of glass and give off a lot of sparkle. The necklace is 18” long, plus has an extension, and is 14k gold plated. This looks and feels high-quality and I love that I can dress it up or down. My favorite way to wear such eye-catching necklaces is to have them peek out from behind a shirt collar (see below).

Lulu Crystal Collar Necklace

Penelope Drop Earrings - Retail Value $36

The glitzy earrings I have paired with the Lulu necklace (see below) are the second item in my box. These crystal drops are big (2.5” long) and bold with lots of sparkle. The size of these crystals makes these earrings playful enough to be worn with a casual look. They don’t match the necklace exactly but they coordinate well enough that if you wanted to go full glam, you could wear both. These are also 14k gold plated with titanium posts to prevent irritation on sensitive ears. Plus, though they aren’t heavy, they come with the wide backs for support.

Here I’ve tried to create a dressy look and a casual look with the necklace and earrings worn together.

Eden Fringe Tassel Drop Earrings

Eden Fringe Tassel Drop Earrings - Estimated Value $38

These are no longer listed on Olive + Piper’s site, but I used a value from a similar pair of earrings. They’re super playful with small crystals and big, light coral tassels. They hang about 3” long. Like the other earrings included, they are 14k gold plated and have titanium posts with the wide support backs. Big earrings like this work well with my hair because they don’t get lost in there.

And now, for the extra goodies:

Ativo Skincare Strawberry Lime Body Sugar Scrub, 2oz

Ativo Skincare Strawberry Lime Body Sugar Scrub, 2oz

This whipped body scrub has sugar, strawberry extracts, and lime essential oils to smooth dry skin and moisturize at the same time. It smells so good, like a sweet fruity drink!

There are a couple of milk chocolate hearts.

This is a tiny ring dish made of marbled clay. It is smooth, so it won’t scratch jewelry and perfect on my nightstand for holding my rings or small studs.

Benefit The Porefessional Pearl Primer, 3ml sample

Benefit The Porefessional Pearl Primer, 3ml sample (Buy a 22ml tube for $31)

This is a new product in Benefit’s well-loved primer line. Like the original, it helps to smooth pores and lock on makeup but this has a soft radiant finish that makes skin look brighter.

The Verdict: Olive + Piper did a great job with this Valentine’s Surprise Box! It has a total retail value of $122 for the jewelry and came with lots of extra goodies that fit with the theme. I would have been happy to give or receive this as a Valentine’s gift because the curation is so great and it was basically ready to gift. The jewelry feels romantic and glam but also works for everyday looks if you don’t mind sparkling a bit. I feel like Olive + Piper’s surprise boxes are always great because they include well-made jewelry and extra touches that elevate the whole unboxing experience.

I love everything except the tassel earrings. Anybody else had about enough of those? The statement jewelry is right up my alley. The body scrub sounds delightful. The clay dish is simple and elegant. I wouldn’t be able to choose a favorite from those items. I have tried almost all of benefit’s primers but am unsure if I’ve used this. I like the glam casual look you put together. And I need to know where you got the plaid shirt please.
