Here is the teaser Olive + Piper sent out for this surprise collection. I’m crossing my fingers for this necklace!
I received a couple of cards with an intro and a little handwritten note. That is a nice touch for a surprise box.
Now onto the mystery items!
Each piece of jewelry came in its own dust bag which is perfect as a polishing cloth in a pinch. It also makes gifting easy if any of the pieces aren’t your style.
Circuit Choker, Silver - Value $24
I’m just going to start right here with the best piece I could have hoped for (besides the teaser necklace). This is just the most versatile, chic piece and works seamlessly into my wardrobe. The metal is smooth and sturdy without being heavy and it is super comfortable to wear. The hook clasp is easy to close and it stays put throughout the day. While I like to play around with all different sorts of jewelry styles, I always love going back to minimalist jewelry to a super polished look.
Classic Crystal Bangle, Silver - Value $28
This is a great bangle to wear alone or to stack with other bangles for a adding a little glitz. I think the sparkle is understated and perfect for work or for dressing up a simple dress for a night out. The bangle itself is lightweight and flexible so no fit problems for different sized wrists. No pulling hair either, which can get super annoying with flexible style bracelets. Olive + Piper has many different versions of this bracelet that would be perfect for adding to your stack.
Ophelia Pearl Bracelet, Rose - Value $34
This cuff takes me back to my preppy pearl days, only with a little more grown-up vibe. The varying sizes of pearls give it a tiara-like shape while the shiny rose gold metal gives a polished look. The cuff is open, so it can be adjusted some to fit different wrist sizes, but I still found it to be tight even on my small wrists. I can see myself pairing it with another edgier cuff or something leather to tone it down a bit and to bring it into my style zone.
Miramar Sequin Drops, Blue - Value $34
When I first saw these, my thought was that they would be way too huge and overshadow everything else I had on. They were and they did but in a not terrible way. These blue sequined balls are definitely a statement and, with careful selection, can make for a fun outfit. They are surprisingly light and didn’t become annoying like some larger earrings. Like the rest of the pieces, these earrings look well-made and have nice details which really gives them an edge over other statement jewelry pieces I am used to.
Amigo Tassel Earrings, Pink - Value $24
Of the two pairs of earrings, I think I’ll get more use out of these. I love the beaded details and geometric shapes. Oh yeah, and the tassels! These are also lightweight and feel very comfortable on. The tassels didn’t hang straight down all-day, they tended to want to get caught in my hair, but a quick straightening out was all it took to get them back in line. Now to find a cute lilac-colored top to pair with them!
Both pairs of earrings had wide backs for pierced ears which helps stabilize larger earrings.
Verdict: The total value of this surprise box is $144. I think this is good for the cost of $60 with free shipping. I love jewelry and the fact that these pieces are wearable (or giftable) makes it worth the risk for me. And while everything is not exactly my style, each piece is of great quality and I will certainly purchase other items from their site in the future. Though I didn’t get the necklace in the teaser, I did receive one of the bracelets shown, so I feel like they did an ok job with representing the items that could have been included.
