Mantry March 2018 Review

Each box also includes a note from Mantry’s co-founder, Reggie Milligan.

You’ll also receive a booklet each month; this month’s theme is Tequila Sunrise.

This booklet also includes the contents of your box, along with some ideas on how to prepare them.

Now let’s take a look at what I received!

Hibiscus Rose Cocktail Mix, 8 oz. – Buy a 16 oz. jar mixer for $15 here

I’m always up to try a new cocktail, so I was pretty excited this hibiscus rose cocktail mix was in this month’s Mantry! It isn’t overly sweet, which I appreciate and is super tasty! I mixed with tequila, a few ice cubes and a dash of lime and o my, it was quite tasty. I can definitely see myself trying more flavors from this brand in the future!

Three Little Pigs Chorizo, 8 oz. – Retail Value $9.99

I love chorizo, so this was another win for me in this month’s box. This sausage isn’t overly spicey and paired quite nicely with a pepper jack and goat cheese! I put it out for a little appetizer for friends before dinner and everyone really enjoyed it!

Hatchup Katchup, 10 oz. – Retail Value $8.00

I put ketchup on most things, so another win for me in this month’s Mantry! This “katchup” is on the spicier end and is very tasty. It’s a nice change of pace and a big flavor upgrade into what I’m currently eating. If you enjoy ketchup like myself, I suggest you giving this stuff a try – it’s delicious!

Chimi Rub, 2 oz. – Retail Value $6.95

This chimi rub has quite a spicy kick to it and really did a nice job of spicing up my chicken! The rub consists of parsley, garlic, red pepper and sea salt, which when put together, creates a nice blend. The container suggests trying this with poultry, streak, fish and even popcorn, which I think I’ll have to try very soon!

Sriracha Pretzels, 7 oz. – Retail Value $5.00

I love both sriracha and pretzels, so when they’re combined, they really create a winning combination that’s super tasty! These pretzels are definitely spicy, which means I can’t eat too many at one time, so I’ll have these around for a bit before finishing the bag. If you like spice and pretzels, I suggest you give these a try!

Mayana Chocolate Bar, 1 bar – Estimated Value $4.00 (buy a 10-pack for $40 here)

I love chocolate but this was a miss for me. This bar consists of caramel, chocolate and some sort of mousse drizzled with sea salt on top. I cared for the caramel, but the chocolate on the inside was not for me; I didn’t love the taste or the texture, so I couldn’t even finish this one.

Verdict: I continue to be impressed by Mantry and the selection of food they send every time! The estimated value received in this month’s crate was $41.44, which is under the $49 price paid (including free shipping). A couple items could only be found in larger quantities online, so the total value could be higher. I really enjoyed the selection and got to try things I wouldn’t normally buy in the store.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, as of publication, this box was still available!

Coupon – Receive a free Jerky Kit with a 12-month subscription! No coupon required – just link here.

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $49 + free shipping, which means that each of the 6 items in the box has an average cost of $8.17.

  1. I got the bogo deal delivered today; two identical boxes, both in grey washed wooden crates so that was fun (I haven’t had a Mantry for ages so I guess seeing this review they come colored now and not natural?).

Theme is Comfort Food Vol. 3:
    -Fick’s moscow mule mixer
    -Yellowbird blue agave sriracha sauce
    -Lark coconut butter cookies
    -Alderwood smoked chocolate bar
-Farm To Table Foods ancient grain oatmeal
+The booklet had Smoking Goose rust belt saucisson, but they subbed Chef’s Cut chipotle cracked pepper jerkey

Everything is new to us and we will love it all!

  2. The limited time deal of a bonus crate – is that just for the wooden crate itself or filled with contents (like another month’s box)?

  3. does it come with the wooden crate again? i remember reading reviews and at some point they stopped, the crate is super cool and would be great to reuse makes me want to sign up if so

    • Yep, with every order now!

      • Not with every order. Just got a box with the Chorizo sausage and it was cardboard. got the double box with the moscow mule a couple of months ago when I first started.

I like the wood boxes, I hope they didn’t discontinue. If they did I may have to reconsider
