Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. Recently, Fabletics introduced a plus size line of their fashionable workout gear! You can shop their line in two different ways—either you can shop through their regular store or sign up as a VIP member. The VIP Membership works like this:
- Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
- Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $19.00 for new members. (I'm not sure if "new members" refers to just your first order, though.)
- Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you'd get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
- As you shop, you'll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.
Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, you are not automatically sent a package each month. You have to go into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
About Fabletics
The Subscription Box: Fabletics VIP Membership
The Cost: $49.95 a month. This price goes towards the cost of the outfits curated for you. The cost of outfits varies, but you'll only be charged for what you choose to actually buy. If you want, you can choose to skip the month, and you won't be charged. Fabletics Plus Clothing February 2018 Review
Their invoice is a standard invoice with details on what was purchased along with how to get in touch with their 24-hour customer service team.
The back has some helpful information on Fabletics’ return and/or exchange policy as well.
Fabletics included this $100 Wine Voucher for Nakedwines.com. A service like this is great for stocking up wines as gifts for dinner parties or the holidays. I know a person that has a closet of wine and candles to present as gifts in case they don’t have time to go shopping. That is some high level, gold star adult wizardry as far as I am concerned.
This Hello Fresh coupon was also included in my order. Every time I get one of these coupons I am tempted due to the reviews for Hello Fresh by Jess and Anna!
Hadlee Outfit with Antonia Midi Sports Bra and Salar Mesh Powerhold Capri (currently out of stock), Size 3x - Retail Value $129.90, VIP $59.95, $29.97 for VIP member 1st outfit.
This month I decided to get a set instead of mixing and matching like I did for last month’s review. I love various shades of green, especially chartreuses and olive greens; so I was immediately attracted to this set! Apparently, I wasn’t the only one because it seems as though the capri leggings to this set are sold out on the site!
Both the sports bra and leggings have pale beige mesh accent stripes to accent and break up the olive green on the set. This set has an ultra-athletic, but chic look.
This month’s top doesn’t offer the coverage of my last two selections, but I still appreciate this sports bra like my past selections. The cups fit me immensely well and did not need any readjusting, but I have not worked out in this bra to see how well they keep the sisters in place.
This set is a tad more risqué due to the nude mesh detail. It is simultaneously one of my favorite details, but also one that I dislike since it is incredibly transparent due to the mesh being such a light shade. I doubt anyone will see much of my chest through the sports bra, but as you can see… my undies are seen through the pants’ mesh. I didn’t realize this till I started editing pictures. WHOOPS!
I do appreciate the thinner mesh lines, though. To me, they are far more aesthetically pleasing. Often, I see chunks of mesh on the pants on the calves and front of the leggings, so this is a subtler detail I prefer. I like to call it the Sporty Lite look.
The leggings fit great, which is what I come to expect from Fabletics. These like all styles I select by them have a high waist. I refuse to wear anything but high waist pants because of the security they provide in holding me in. If I am on the elliptical at the gym, the least of what I want to worry about is pulling up my pants. I rarely have to readjust myself in Fabletics leggings, so HALLELU to that! I have essentially lived in my plain black leggings this entire winter—that is how comfortable they are! I actually wore them recently on a trip to see my boyfriend as well. They are great at the gym, running errands at the mall, or for a four-hour car ride.
Verdict: Have I mentioned that I love Fabletics? I was at brunch with an out of town friend recently singing the praise of my Fabletics leggings. The style of this particular pair is fantastic because how often do you see an olive green active wear item that isn’t incorporated into a camo design? I get excited month after month to peruse the gallery for their new, unique designs. I would say they are a great alternative to a brand like Lululemon, but I have no frame of reference since the brand only goes to size fourteen and their pants alone cost as much as two outfits from Fabletics. This speaks to what a value Fabletics provides. I appreciate how inclusive Fabletics is, but my one complaint is I want to see the brand to amp up their inclusivity further. I want to see all the options in straight sizes available in their plus line. Competitors like Lane Bryant and Torrid offer sizes that go up to 28 and even 6x (in the case of Torrid). Us bodacious babes actually do like to work out and want stylish activewear as well! It is like Field of Dreams, but in this case, if you make the clothing we will come… and throw our money at you! Otherwise, I love Fabletics and will continue to suggest them to my babely friends of all sizes!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The sports bra is still on the site, but the leggings are sadly sold out! Sign up here to nab the sports bra in your size, or browse other styles and outfits.
