Beauty Brands Love Your Nails Box March 2018 Review

An information sheet was included, along with a coupon code for future purchases.

China Glaze in Vermillion

China Glaze in Vermillion (discontinued) - Estimated Value $7.50

I am a big China Glaze fan, and Vermillion is a color from them I did not have. I am a little bummed this box included a discontinued shade (and not recently discontinued, either, based on my Google perusing), but Vermillion is a great red creme polish that doesn't lean blue or orange. The formula was good and easy to control.

CND Cake Pop, 0.5 fl oz

CND Vinylux in Cake Pop, 0.5 fl oz — Retail Value 10.50

This nail polish is supposed to be used with no base coat and the CND top coat for week-long wear without chipping. For best results, I would recommend making sure your nails are dry and free of oils before applying this polish. I was impressed with the shine this polish had, and it is the perfect color for spring. The formula of the polish, however, was a little thick for my taste.

CND top coat, 0.5 fl oz box

CND top coat, 0.5 fl oz

CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat, 0.5 fl oz — Retail Value $10.50

I rarely go seven days without changing my nail polish, but this top coat looks tough enough to support its “7 days without chipping” claim. I am happy they included this top coat with the nail polish since this is a system that is supposed to be used together. This top coat provided beautiful shine and went on easily. It doesn't knock out my all time favorite of Seche Vite, but it definitely competes with the best top coats out there.

Flowery 4 in 1 File Catty

Flowery 4 in 1 File Catty - Estimated Value $4.99

I can always use more nail files (got to keep my claws sharp!), so I was happy to see this in the box. Apparently, you can use the case this nail file comes in for other manicure related things, but I am going to be honest, I could not figure out the 3 purposes this case is supposed to serve to make this a “4 in 1.” That being said, I am happy with the grit on the nail file (not too rough but still effective) and this will be used.

Orly Lacquer in No Regrets,  0.125 fl oz

Orly Lacquer in No Regrets,  0.125 fl oz  — Estimated Value $1.98  (buy the full sized version for $9.50)

Normally neon colors are brightest when you use them over a coat of white polish, but this vibrant beauty was bright all on its own! I’m impressed with the full coverage in two coats and how vibrant it is with no white base color. I am a fan of Orly polishes in general, so I am not surprised this little baby polish is so great.

OPI RapiDry Top Coat, 0.125 fl oz - Estimated Value $3.49 (buy the full sized version for $13.95)

I have used this topcoat before, and while it isn't awful it is not my favorite. This top coat works best with thin coats of polishes because the quick dry aspect doesn't really set into the layers of polish when you have multiple coats or thick coats of polish beyond the very top. If you're not careful you can smudge your nails, which is why I use a different top coat in my everyday nail polish practices.

CND Solar Oil, 0.125 fl oz

CND Solar Oil, 0.125 fl oz — Estimated Value $4.25 (buy the full sized version for $8.50 here)

I am always down for more cuticle oil, and this generous sample (it is half the size of the full size!) is perfect for throwing in my purse for when I need moisture on the go. The brush makes it easy to apply the oil to my cuticles without it going everywhere. It soaked into my dry cuticles pretty easily and didn't leave my fingers greasy.

OPI Pro Spa Foil Samples

I enjoyed trying out these samples from the OPI Pro Spa line. The hand polish and serum was very soothing to my hands, and the pedicure creams were very moisturizing as well. I am always happy to receive samples like these, but I don't think foil samples should be included in the overall value.

Verdict: For a $15.95 box ($10 + $5.95 shipping), this is an awesome collection of samples and full-sized products. Getting two full sized polishes and a full sized top coat really made this box a great value. This box promised a value of $46, and by my estimates, they are a touch under that at $43.21, but I still think this is an awesome deal.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, this box is now sold out.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $15.95 and I calculated a value of $43.21. That means you are paying approximately the following for each item:

  • China Glaze polish: $2.77
  • CND polish: $3.88
  • CND top coat: $3.88
  • Nail File: $1.84
  • OPI top coat: $1.29
  • Orly polish: $0.73
  • CND cuticle oil: $1.57
  • OPI foil samples: N/A

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Great review, Jessica!
Which topcoat do you like and recommend? I feel like I don’t want to do my nails often any
more because it doesn’t last very long…

I was curious about the 4 in 1 file as well, here’s what I found:

Features:
Under nail clean-sweep: allows you to clear out grime from under the nails
Cuticle push: push back cuticles
Nail snag quick fix: files nails with the case closed
180/240 grit nail file with spring/summer fashion design: files nails

Would love if you made some sort of email list for their boxes!

I ordered the 15 piece favorites a few weeks ago (I actually only got 14 but the one missing is something I wouldn’t use so no biggie). But are these a monthly thing? What do you search on the website to find them? Or what category do they fall under?

I think this is the first time I’ve seen these in a box pre-printed with the products on them. They have done curated bags, but they were items that were in a clear plastic makeup/storage bag for which the products could vary (but generally they were all the same). Those bags didn’t seem to be on a set recurring basis, but felt more like they came out a bit randomly. It would be cool if they started to do this more often. 🙂

I bought three different kits, two of mine were perfect, the nail one shown here was missing a piece and they wanted me to ship the whole kit back and if in stock they will send me a new one…I decided to just keep it.

I had order the favorites kit and I loved it! Also the try it on was great for $5.99.

Anyway, that link you gave for the nail file gives the 4 ways that you can use it and the case.

I’ve been delighted with all the boxes I’ve received from Beauty Brands and since they always seem to have the $3.50 off 10 that offsets the shipping.
