Art Snacks February 2018 Review

This is the information card that came in the package. It lists each item in the box with suggestions on how to use them. My husband is an artist, and he was completely excited to play with all these new toys! An Art Snacks sticker and candy were also included.

Fabriano Artistico Watercolor Paper - Bonus Item

This is a tiny sample of extremely nice watercolor paper. It's 100% cotton, 140 lb. paper measuring about 2" x 6".

Faber-Castell Goldfaber Sketching Pencil, 2H - List Price $0.95 (found here for $0.85)

This was a good pencil, according to my husband, but nothing incredible. Just a good solid pencil.

Sakura Pigma Micron PN - List Price $2.89 (found here for $2.29)

My husband is already a big fan of Sakura pens, so he was happy to get another one! This was a nice bonus for him!

Sennelier French Artists' Watercolor (x2) - List Price $11.75 each (found here for less depending on color)

My husband liked using these. He said they were fun and easy to use. I have to say I am impressed by the vibrancy!

Raphael Mini Precision Brush - List Price $9.95

My husband absolutely LOVED this brush. He wants to keep this as an essential part of his kit! It is small and stiff enough for precision work when needed. That's not always easy with watercolors!

Due to the size of the sample paper, my husband was just barely able to do a little sample of the watercolors here, but you can see what I mean. The paper is really, really nice, and just look how vibrant those colors are! I would never have guessed from the color that they were watercolors.

Art Snacks is not a project box like we sometimes review with instructions and everything, but my husband always likes to do a sample drawing to show what can be done with the materials provided. His painting this month is beautiful! It's a gosbeak! His family is full of bird people, so they all loved this. This also qualifies as an #artsnackschallenge, which is Art Snacks' monthly challenge to create something using only the materials provided plus paper.

Verdict: Art Snacks is always so much fun! We get to try new fine arts/drawing supplies and tools, and I really think my husband enjoys the Art Snacks Challenge! This month's value about breaks even with the cost of the box, which is actually good for an art supply box, so I'm happy.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the March box.
