Kokie Cosmetics Powder Contour Palette – Retail Value $15

This is a great size contour palette with a mirror and magnetic closure. There are 3 contour shades and 3 highlight shades all of which are matte and have a velvety texture. I need to use a light hand with these because the contour shades are fairly rich but they blend easily and don’t look powdery on my skin. The pans are large enough to fit even big, fluffy brushes without “cross-contaminated” from other pans.

RMS Beauty Nail Polish in Spark, 30 fl oz. – Retail Value $15 (found here for $7.50)

I don’t know what to think about this shade. It is a coppery metallic that reflects magenta and orange when the light hits it. Sometimes I like it and sometimes it just looks unflattering. The formula is not bad though. I used three coats here (no top coat yet) and got a smooth even finish.

Lola Beauty Box January 2018 - Mascara

Lola Beauty Box January 2018 - Mascara Shape Lola Beauty Box January 2018 - Mascara Wand

LASplash Cosmetics Karina Mascara in Catwalk – Retail Value $18

This mascara stands out in my makeup bag with its reflective red color and teardrop shape. The wand is curved slightly at the end to help reach smaller lashes. The shade is a nice, saturated black that makes my lashes look full and long. I notice some good curl without using a lash curler too.

Lola Beauty Box January 2018 - Masks Lola Beauty Box January 2018 - Mask Worn

Feel Beauty Brilliant Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sheet Mask, Set of 4 – Retail Value $35

I’m a fan of including multiples of products especially when they work. This mask set includes 4 weekly masks including charcoal and hyaluronic acid to tone and hydrate skin while fighting breakouts. I sat back on the couch for a while wearing one this weekend and when I took it off my skin looked bright and calm while feeling super hydrated.

Doucce Click Lipstick in Puppy Love – Retail Value $24

Isn’t this packaging clever.?I like the click style tube because it stays closed when being tossed around in my purse. You just push the bottom in and the inner tube pops out revealing a traditional lipstick. I wasn’t crazy about the orangy-brown shade in the tube but I’m not hating it on. It feels light and smooth on my lips, and, while it does transfer, it looks good for a few hours before needing a touchup.

Lola Beauty Box January 2018 - Swatches

Here are swatches of the contour shades (left), highlight shades (right), and lipstick (far right).

Lola Beauty Box January 2018 - Face Lola Beauty Box January 2018 - Eyes

Here I’ve applied one coat of the mascara and got a good curl and volume without any clumps. I used a really light hand with the contour palette here because I wasn’t wearing any foundation and it gives good definition without looking unnatural. I’ve also applied the lipstick to my bare lips and, even though they were chapped, it looks smooth and creamy.

The Verdict: This month, Lola Beauty Box has done a good job of curating a variety of items from different categories. I really like the masks and lip color. I still have to make up my mind about the nail polish, but I appreciate receiving a shade to try that I wouldn’t have picked for myself. Everything is full sized and with a value of $107, they come through on their promise of at least a $70 value. That’s great for a $21 box that always introduces me to new types of products and brands.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? If you sign up today, your first box will be the February box.

Value Breakdown: The box cost $21.00, and I estimate that I received $107 in value. That means I spent approximately the following on each item:

  • Kokie Cosmetics Powder Contour Palette: $2.94
  • RMS Beauty Nail Polish in Spark: $2.94
  • LASplash Cosmetics Karina Mascara in Catwalk: $3.53
  • Feel Beauty Brilliant Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sheet Mask, Set of 4: $6.87
  • Doucce Click Lipstick in Puppy Love: $4.71

Tiffany found out about subscription boxes from a friend who followed MSA. The curiosity started with mystery beauty boxes and grew into an addiction from there. Beauty, clothes, home…she loves the sight of a subscription box in the mail.

  1. Never got my Koki palette and it’s March 14th!!!! Customer service was terrible with no answer except it’s on its way! No number to call. VERY DISSAPOINTED!! never using this service again.

  2. Tiffany I just wanted to say I always love your reviews. Its great to see makeup looks rather than just swatches and your writing is informative and fun to read. Agree that your skin with no foundation looks amazing!

    • Thank you! I’m glad that it’s helpful! I’ve really amped up my skincare game lately and I’m glad to hear it has paid off.

  3. They send you Kokie Powder Contour Palette??

  4. Is this Subcription a sister company of Boxycharm? That’s what I heard.

  5. So not everyone got the palette or they were just not put in the box? I want to sign up for this but that’s a problem when 2 posters say they didn’t receive.

    • They were left out of some boxes but are supposed to be coming in the Feb shipment or will ship separately if you already canceled.

  6. I like that polish. It reminds me more of a fall shade, though.

  7. This bag was a complete miss for me (although I haven’t used the masks yet).

The mascara was completely dried out so I couldn’t even get one use for it.

The lipstick was completely wrong – I am very fair and it was flattering only for a friend who is a woman of color – FWIW, she liked the consistency of the lipstick and loved the way the color looked.

The polish wasn’t a color I liked or was particularly flattering.

I didn’t receive the contouring palette but judging from the color choices, it was no real loss./

  8. Gosh, you even look good in a sheet mask! haha 🙂

February will be my first box, and I’ve been liking what’s been in the past two boxes. Hopefully, February will be a good one too!

    • Hi Luna, February will be my first box too, so excited.

    • Thanks, Luna! If only my dog and hubs agreed. 🙂 They were not impressed with the look.

  9. No foundation and your skin looks amazing!! #skingoals

  10. At least u got the contour palette! I wanted to see someone have one . Lucky u I have to wait for mine that didn’t show up. I agree about the nail polish but for me I did 2 coats and it took forever for it to dry and chipped that same day! So I don’t like it tho. Thanks for the review and I look great ☺️
