Does anyone know what kind of brushes those are? Like a powder brush, blush, and eyeshadow? Clearly I don’t know what I’m doing 🙂 But I loved my first box in January!

According to Crown, these are face brushes, concealer, bronzer and powder, in order of size. Looking fwd to a good bronzer brush😍😍

I think it is vital that if we post a complaint on the internet about any company, and then have our issues resolved, that we post an update. Complaints can have a huge impact on business. I do love boxycharm, and I’m hopeful that if we show our appreciation, things will even get better!
As a business gets better, it reflects on us and the boxes we get!

I hope that if any boxycharm subscribers have this experience, that you’ll add an update.
Here’s mine!
I was so happy this morning to find an e mail and a refund from boxycharm!
Here is the letter:

Hi Jennie,

Thank you for your response! We apologized for any inconvenience this situation may have caused you! As some of the new products were added to our Charm Room, we experienced a hiccup in our system that prevented some of the coupon codes from being redeemed. Please know that this has been fixed and we have applied the coupon to the total of your order.

Although we normally do not offer refunds once your payment was processed, we will make an exception to our policy. We have issued a partial refund for $36, and you will be receiving an e-mail confirmation with the refund details shortly. We charged your for $4 for your shipping fee since you don’t have available free shipping coupon. The funds are normally reversed within 7-10 business days.

Please know that our Charm Room orders ship out within 5-10 business days from the date of purchase (not including weekends and holidays) and take an additional 5-10 business days for you to receive. Once your Charm Room orders is on its way to you, you will receive an email with your tracking information. We hope that this helps and should you have further concerns, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will assist you further!

We apologize for this inconvenience and look forward to having a speedy resolution for you soon!

Stay Charming,
——

Along with that, an e mail with my credit card reversal.
I’m happy! I hope this is a new trend.

Only thing that bothers me, is that they admit it is their fault, and then go on to say that they are going to “make an exception” to their rules, as if it were my fault, or something? They messed up and of course, they should make an exception to their rules? Just a bit odd, there.

By the way, where do people get free shipping codes?

Thanks! And thank you boxycharm! I do love their company and I love my “boxies!” 🙂

This 3 pc Pro Brush Trio is 100% synthetic so it is perfect for liquid, crème, and powder cosmetics! Use the small brush for concealing under the eyes as well as camouflaging any blemishes that need extra coverage. The medium sized brush can be used for applying foundation and contouring the face. The large brush is great for setting concealer under the eyes with powder as well as setting and mattifying the whole face!

Okay, so I’m always excited for my monthly box from Boxycharm, but I’m somewhat dreading the rest of the reveals. I may be the only one, but I’m over the whole “duo-chrome/iridescent/color shifting” trend with cosmetics. Products like the Moonchild/Aurora highlighting palettes from ABH, for example, or any of the “toppers” that change the colors of the products below it. For me, that stuff isn’t ideal or practical for usage when I’m most often wearing makeup (I don’t want purple/green/blue shifts on my cheekbones while I’m at work) because it doesn’t fit daily. It looks fine if I’m doing any actual specific look for social media/going out, but it just doesn’t fit for me. Maybe I’m alone in this, but I’m over that trend. The “unicorn” collections had a lot of this, too. I don’t mind eyeshadows being this way, but face products and lip products, I’m kinda over. It’s been run into the ground for me. I’m hoping this box isn’t stuffed full of items like that.

Amen. Tired of it, too. I’m 57 and this isn’t cute on me!

Seems like customer service is sporadic at best. I’m glad some of you had positive experiences, but there are A LOT of subscribers who have not. After I redeemed points, I was sent an email confirmation and saw that I had been charged cash and not points. I was also charged shipping although I had purchased a free shipping with points. I immediately contacted them and asked for a refund to my bank card. I was then sent a shipping confirmation. The next day I received an email that was rude and dismissive. They said they had already processed the order and that I would not be refunded!!! They literally said “there was nothing they could do.” This was their mistake and it had happened to many other subscribers. I sent an email back that said I would return the products and expect a full refund OR they could give me a refund and deduct the proper amount of points. No response to date (and no, it was not in the spam folder). I suppose I will have to open a case with my bank. This whole episode seems shady or like a scam. How can they not know this was an issue when it happened to so many subscribers?? And BTW, I really don’t think this is whining or complaining. They have my money and refuse to give it back….this is a valid issue.

I am going thru the same thing. I cashed in my charms but noticed they were going to charge my card so I did not place the order. I emailed them asking what gives. Why is it trying to charge me cash instead of using my charms I cashed in. They didn’t respond then they responded saying I didn’t have an account. They were using another email and not the one I sent the request from. But for one response it took a month and four emails. Each time I waited a week before sending another email to them. It says they will get back to us within 48-72 hours. So a week is ample time to wait. Then I got a rude email saying not to keep emailing because I get put to the back of the email line. Seriously!!!! If I got a response I wouldn’t send another email. And how long do they want me to wait. It says 48-72 hours. What they are doing is illegal. I love the subscription also but their customer service sucks. Really I have never seen a company so bad with customer service. They are getting worse and worse. It’s clear when they do the videos that these are kids barely out of high school who are party girls and they don’t care because they are getting all their stuff for free working there. So if the company is screwing the customers, they are not going to help us.

Oh, dear. This exact same thing is what I’m going thru, now. I have email proof that I cashed in my charms before I made my order. They still charged my credit card. I sent them for emails before I got any response at all.

When I finally did get an email, it doesn’t appear they are going to do anything about it. I suppose I’m going to have to take it up with my credit card company. I would never buy the things that I picked out. I just figured since it was free… but if it’s going to cost me $50, you can forget it! Especially since they are so dismissive.

I’m really sad about this and said that I have to say something about it. I love Boxee charm but their customer service is really bad.

Again, I’m sorry Boxee charm, but something has to give.

Also, I’m 57 years old and sparkles just don’t look good on people my age. Tired of the glow.

I’m pretty sure I would not have paid $46 for two sample sticks and a pencil sharpener. 🙄😠😡

Snowhitetwin

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t this pretty much the theme every month?? For some reason we always need to glow…

I agree! My prepaid sub runs out in March and I’m taking a break. I cannot use all of this makeup, and I definitely can’t use all of these highlighters!

Reply ButtonReply

beth

I just used up all of my charms and canceled my Boxycharm. I love the box, but I can’t justify it anymore. I always ended up giving almost everything away. I wish Boxy would do a skincare box as well as the makeup box. I’d be all over that.

Ohmigosh, you’re killing me, Liz! I had unsubscribed from a ton of boxes, was finally getting subscription box sober, and in just the past two days I’ve fallen off the wagon. The only way I’m ever going to get clean is if I stop reading your blog! I can’t help it… I gotta know everything!

Julie

Yup, same here. I WAS doing pretty well.
I really hope the seraphine is in this box so i can take a break from the glow fest starting next month. I’ve dropped almost everything but this and ipsy.

Maggie

I totally feel your pain! I really cut back on my subscriptions for the new year, but I still want all the boxes!

Oh hun I so much feel your pain!

Boxycharm you rock my socks off every month! Keeps getting better and better! People who have problems with this company must be a little silly. Come on now ladies, it’s 21 bucks a month. Enjoy what you get and just have fun with the makeup!! Quit being so picky. If you don’t like an item gift it to a friend simple as that.

Julie

I’ve never had a problem with cs. They’ve gone out of the way to fix things that have gone wrong but they are slow to respond.
But I understand, I’ve dumped boxes for bad cs and won’t go back to them.

Cynthia Bean

How do you get in touch with their Customer Service??? Thank you!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

I sent an email through their website and they responded. It wasn’t quick though. It might have taken 10 days.
I don’t pester them on Instagrm or fb.

Maren

I may be alone in this but I kind of feel like I expect crappy customer service from subscription boxes. It’s like shopping at Nordstrom’s (full price) vs. TJ MaXX (discounted). I have received damaged products before but I kind of feel like it’s th price of doing business with a discount product company.

So far I’ve really enjoyed this sub. Maybe I got lucky, but the one time I needed to contact their customer service I had no problem. That said, I hope the theme doesn’t mean more highlighter. I have enough from this and other subs to glow until the end of time!

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

I am wondering when the highlighter obsession will end??

Reply ButtonReply

Shannon Caswell

You and me both. How many highlighters does one need in a lifetime?

justmissjamey

I’m with the highlighter ending. Ibwish they went back to the 90s , they made makeup you didn’t have to primer or set either.

Michelle Ford-Copley

I’ve been with Boxy for years and never had any type of problem that they didn’t fix. You have to be patient if they are slammed with complaints. You can tell from the facebook page that they are probably slammed every month with customer service because for some reason people complain that they didn’t get a color they wanted or the product they wanted or their box wasn’t as price comparable as some of the others. If you email, give them 4 business days and then hit them up on facebook messenger. BUT might I suggest you do a search in your email from boxy support because a lot of times the email is there it is just in a spam folder or something to that effect. If I were them I wouldn’t have a publicized phone number either. Can you imagine the poor person answering the phone all day and all they are getting is phone calls from entitled, whiny children? Social media especially has turned into something terrible.

I e-mailed Boxycharm about a broken bronzer pallet that I had received and I never did get a response. I just threw the pallet in the trash.

Reply ButtonReply

Crystal

I had the similar experience with the Kitten palette (mine wasn’t broken but had for sure been swatched by someone else on 5 of the colors – no idea how that happened but it grossed me out). I had attached the photos and everything but never received a response.

Reply ButtonReply

julie

You have to take a photo of the palette with the box showing the shipping label.

Mine broke too and I got replacement shipping notice today. I think its coming straight from Crown.

Yes!! Something that is MY color!! Yeah purple!!

Punkykiki

Buyer, beware!!!! This company is truly awful. BoxyCharm has virtually no customer service. They tell you to email and then you never get a response. They don’t have a phone number or a live chat. Check out their Facebook page to see how bad this company really is. They charged my bank card last week when the charm shop added new products. I redeemed some of my points but they charged my bank card for the items!!! Charm items are posted as “charm-only”. They are not for sale with cash, yet they charged my bank card for $46. There are a lot of people in the same boat (again, check Facebook). One subscriber was charged $99 for redeeming points!!! Josef, if you see this, please get your act together. There is no amount of eyeshadow and highlighters that are worth this customer service nightmare.

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

Same. On the 23rd I redeemed charms points for 3 of the Cover FX sticks and was charged not just $66 to my card, but also $4 in shipping per item. AND the points are gone from my boxy account. I even got comfirmation emails saying I redeemed them. And then an email confirming my order of the sticks and that I was charged. SMH I immediately emailed CS, m have several times now with no response from them in 10 days. I just gave up and contacted my credit card today to disputed the charge bc idk what else to do. I still don’t have any kind of shipment notification from them for the sticks I was charged for either.. That’s a long process time!

Jessica

Every time you email Boxy it bumps your request to the back of the queue, unfortunately. Hope your issue is resolved soon.

Tc

Correct!! I used to love Boxycharm, but I cancelled them, and they can’t use my card.

Jessica

I wrote to Boxycharm after a charm shop purchase last week, in which the redeemed charms weren’t applied. They issued a refund for the amount overcharged today, and my merchandised is already on its way. Body’s customer service is slow, but they have always fully addressed any problems I’ve had.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle Haynes

I to have not been able to get a hold of anyone from customer service. Why is this such an issue??

Reply ButtonReply

Nikki

I honestly think that they’re swamped right now because there were SO many issues with January’s box. Almost every single person that I know/talk to who subscribe had something come broken/shattered, and some even got empty boxes of the brow pencil. A friend had the empty container, and another got a brow pencil that was so dried out it wouldn’t even swatch or apply. I’ve never seen an instance where BC has had this many issues with products arriving destroyed. Thankfully, mine didn’t have any damage, but I’m sure with BC having to replace so many items, they’re super backed up. Also, they let a TON of people off the wait-list with January, so I’m sure that has probably gobbed them up, too. I’m really hoping this month will be much better for us as subscribers, and they’ll fix all these issues they have. Their systems are glitching like crazy right now; they deleted my payment information, and I had to go back in a re-enter it after my payment “failed”. The money was sitting in my account, so I know it wasn’t for lack of funds. Thank God I caught it when I did, or I would have eventually been put back on the wait-list.
