Count me in on the cancel sub if they are really going to price a comb at $20.00. I mean really this is one really good reason to cancel and find another box that will deliver. I wish I could tell them to keep mine and save themselves the twenty dollars.

I can pick you up a rat-tail comb that looks just like that in the parking lot of the piggly wiggly. Send me $20 and it’s all yours! I’ll even bedazzle it and tell you it’s made with diamond dust if you want. 😂

Donna

For real! I’d like to know what this comb does that the piggly wiggly one doesn’t. I could go for a bedazzled one though, This spoiler is really a bummer!

Jeanette

I like the comb spoiler. Between me and my hubby we will get some use out of it.

Reply ButtonReply

Donna

Mine will go straight to the trash can after I do a quick comparison with the one I have that cost 2 bucks max. This is really ridiculous. I sure hope they make up for this bummer in a great useful product for the hair.

Laurie

Maybe my niece the hairdresser can use the comb, I hope, because I sure can’t. Bummer. I have too many masks already including this one. I will be gifting these. I hope there’s something for me in the rest of the box. If they’re bent on tools, maybe they should have put in a jade roller instead. A comb? 😕

Personally, I’m glad to see that they’re putting beauty tools in their boxes and will definitely use this! Beauty Fix is the one beauty subbox that I cannot stop subbing to..due to the great items included in the box and their A+ customer service!

Combs can actually be quite pricey. My son bought a few products including a small comb after his haircut at Finleys. When I looked at my receipt. I saw that I paid $30 for a comb! I guess it’s some special tortoise, designer comb?? Oh well, I probably won’t use this comb but Harry Josh tools are great and I love the brushes.

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

Of course combs can be pricey. Brands can charge whatever they want. But only a sucker would actually pay such prices.

Reply ButtonReply

Cristina

Professionals who depend on these tools would not think it’s pricey.

justmissjamey

I sooooo wish they sent out the red Kevin aucoin velvet lip in a monthly box!! I’m dying to try it, but already subbed. It annoys me when you’ve been a long time customer and see the great sign up bonus for a place you can’t get. Lol

Tara

They sent it out in this color over a year ago and then 2 months later in another color.

This is a repeat product. It was quite a long time ago but still it is a repeat. I have long straight hair and the comb was useless. The teeth are too close together and I couldn’t even get it through my hair. My hair isn’t particularly thick either.

Laura

This type of comb is for back-combing at the root (a.k.a. ratting for volume). It is great for smoothing out pony tails. You can use the tip/skinny handle for parting, or running the handle under the parts of your hair when it is in a ponytail to smooth out the bumps….
I worked in a salon during college at the desk, but I learned a lot and went through many of their training classes in the salon. I have long, straight hair too.. I can’t live without these combs!

Ooh.. Thanks for the information, as I had no idea! At first I was a bit bummed to be getting a comb, but after reading your comment, I’m kinda happy.

Luna

I saw that 1.7oz mask in Sephora today, and it’s actually a really decent size! I was envisioning another one of those tiny jar samples of those PTR masks I’ve received in the past this whole time. I also chuckled a little when I saw this new spoiler, but it’ll definitely come in handy, plus the mask alone now makes the box for me. I can’t wait to see other spoilers.

Rat-tail combs are a $1. For $20, this one better come with lunch LOL.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Petrus

Thank you! Finally some truth! I thought this comb was a joke! But $20 for this comb IS a joke!

Reply ButtonReply

Sue

Really a comb for $20, wow going downhill fast

Reply ButtonReply

justmissjamey

Agree. It’s value is so not 20.00 at all. It’s just adding fake value to inflate the box. I’m sure we will get more foil samples as well. . So sad

I actually like getting this comb. A tool to mix things up is refreshing, in my opinion. I have a similar one that I have used for years, but I started using it on my son’s thick short wild hair. Having a second one for me is nice! These fine tooth combs are good when you’re using dry shampoo or wearing your hair up and want to make the top of it look smoother while it is up.

Amy

A comb? 😣😝😯

Having worked in the outdoor industry for a number of years, I picked up on the word ‘carbon’ in the description of the comb. Carbon usually translates into a superior product that is lighter in weight with greater strength. I had to look into a $20 comb. The description states that it is heat resistant and 100% static free. So I guess the carbon’s purpose in the comb contributes to the ‘static free’ part. $20 is still pretty steep for a rat-tail comb. Hope it lasts for a lifetime! I did find the exact comb on a well-known internet auction site priced at 2 for $10 w/free shipping.

T.Marie

The heat resistance is good if you use it with your straightener but I have yet to melt my comb. And this is hardly suitable for this box, more of a lifestyle item I think. I always think of this as my go – to for skin care.

Reply ButtonReply

Deb B.

I’m not arguing that. My curiosity got the best of me, and I had to see what a $20 comb was all about.

Jerilynn

If it was the full size brush I would jump since I love my harry josh brush, but this is a big no thanks for me.

Erica

I like seeing a tool, even if I can’t use it with my thick, curly hair

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy Phillips

I really can’t believe they released a comb as a spoiler. Did they think a lot of people would be excited by this? I normally love Beauty Fix but this is so off the mark.

Reply ButtonReply

T.Marie

A tall comb? Do we have a lot of hair stylists subscribers who couldn’t afford one at the beauty store? I love mine, I use it when I cut my or my son’s hair or make parts but this is in no way making me want to reactivate my sub. You can even get a sustainable one for a couple bucks.

Reply ButtonReply

Caitie

I canceled last month after seeing spoilers – it was not a box I had any interest in at all. I assumed I’d jump right back on the BeautyFix Train this month… but um… no…. no thanks…

Reply ButtonReply

Maria

I did the exact same thing, and this comb is not bringing me back. I’m sure it’s a great tool, but not for my hair type…that’s $26 I can spend on something more useful!

Reply ButtonReply

luckindeed

Me too!!

Reply ButtonReply

Cp

I’m feeling the exact some way 😐 I’ll wait for one more spoiler, then Decision time LOL

Reply ButtonReply

Angie

Lmao love the comments. I know what everyone means tho. I’m only wanting it for the mask and if it gets worse with the spoilers I’ll cancel too lol

Reply ButtonReply

Christy

Comb spoiler = cancel.

I am so appreciative of these spoilers so I can cancel (or in some months get excited) before I am billed.

I’m in mask surplus right now so I don’t need any of those, and also I’m pretty good on COMBS.

Reply ButtonReply

MzBev

I saw that comb with that price and actually laughed.

Reply ButtonReply

Jacki

I’m so tempted to resub for that mask! I have waist long curly hair so the comb would need a new home. I guess I’ll wait for more spoilers. One more great item and I’m in!

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

Must sign up now. My local dollar store was out of combs. Thank goodness for Harry Josh.

How many kajillions in the bank must you have before you look at this comb and NOT laugh at the brand’s chutzpah?

I guess we can consider it a freebie in this box, and just guffaw.

Reply ButtonReply

Cristina

This comb is $20 at Target also. I don’t think professional hairstylists would use a comb from a dollar store. I don’t have “kajillions” in the bank but tools for pros are always more expensive because of better materials and durability, so I don’t think this is crazy.

Reply ButtonReply

TK

I agree…I’m not a professional hairstylist but I don’t buy my combs or products from the Dollar store. Mason Pearson has a tail comb for $26 and their brushes are $100-over $200. Harry Josh tools are probably not as good as Mason Pearson but pretty close.
