  1. Thanks everyone. I only have two independent brand makeup subs now and almost my whole focus is skincare now. Well, it’s been like that a long time. I do like the luxe masks, but am looking for a variety that aren’t sopping wet. I normally “wring out” the excess fluid if I come across a mask like that, so weirdly enough, I’m very picky about sheet masks (their ingredients as well as how well it works). I do go through Cratejoy for my Benevolent VIP Beauty box, so that’s always an easy sign up / cancel process.

I would agree, Luna, that not getting repeat masks is awesome. I do usually buy exclusively from certain brands and they do have repeats, but because the quality / results are there, I don’t mind. But if I’m trying out a skincare line / box, I definitely want to know what works and possibly buy from the particular company, too.

Thank you, Ragan, Luna and Svetlana! 🙂

  2. Can I ask someone who gets this sub if the value is there? I ask because I use a sheet mask once per day or once every other day. 🙂 Thanks.

    • I have reviewed it in the past (though not since last year). It is difficult to determine values with K-beauty for various reasons (like, the items may be super cheap from Korea but you have to pay $$$ shipping and wait 6 weeks to get them, or you can only find them on eBay, or whatever). But you can see the kinds of masks/brands they send from the past reviews on this site (there’s a link in the post above) and see if it’s worth it to you.

    • Hi Linda,
I have a 6-month subscription to this box that I got with a discount (I think it was 30% off), and I’ve really enjoyed the variety of masks they include each month. I’ve never counted how many sheet masks come in each box, but I’m pretty sure it’s at least 8 masks/month. Also, they occasionally include masks for your feet or hands too.

I’d still feel like this box was worth it to me without the discount, but the discount makes it totally worth it. Since Beauteque is through Cratejoy you can usually find some decent discounts on the box throughout the year. I like to take a 6-month hiatus from sub boxes each year, and when I’m ready to subscribe again, I know I don’t have to wait long for a discount to come around to re-subscribe. 🙂

I actually sub to a few different sheet mask boxes, and what I find so impressive is that between them all I rarely (although it really feels like never, but I could be wrong) receive duplicate masks out of any of the subscriptions!

      • Hi Luna,
Which sheet-mask boxes would you recommend? I used to sub to a woman sending them from Hong Kong (?) but she stopped because they apparently moved to an inconvenient location. I like getting the masks more “direct” from the source.
        Thank you,

        • Hey there!
What was the name of the sub you used to get? Was it Beautibi (sp)? I can’t remember the name of one I’ve come across in the past, but I know there was one shipped directly from Asia (from which country though, I can’t remember).

In addition to Beauteque Mask Maven, I’m currently subscribed to Facetory (both the 4 & 7 pack), Mask Box, Piibu Mask, & Pink Seoul Mask. I believe all of these are U.S. based though.

For a sheet mask only box, I enjoy Facetory the most, with Piibu a very close 2nd. I really enjoy the variety (and cute packaging!) of Facetory’s masks. While I have no idea what’s “new” in the sheet mask market, I still always feel like I’m getting the most recent masks out there with their subs. Maybe it’s because I feel like a lot of the brands I haven’t seen before(?), plus I feel like they include a lot of brands I don’t see in mass retailers. However, I honestly can’t tell the difference between the “luxe” masks in the 7-pack vs. the non-luxe masks in the 4-pack. Piibu also has a really nice variety of masks too!

I also really enjoy Pink Seoul Mask, but they can include non-sheet masks in their boxes at times.

The one I’m on the fence about is Mask Box. While they do include a decent variety of masks, they do send duplicates in the same box, so the variety isn’t quite there. Plus, with my first box I did receive two masks that were one month past their expiration date. Not good. That only happened that one time, and all of the other masks I’ve received have been within their use by date, but only by a few months which tells me how long they’ve had those masks in stock.

          • Hi Luna, I used to buy sets from Maskophy by MaskGenie, but she is temporarily or permanently on hiatus, I am not sure 🙁 As I said, she would ship directly from Hong Kong and I never received a duplicate and they were always fun.
Thank you so much for sharing your information! I am going to check them out and doubtless become a subscriber very soon.

    • Linda, I sub this box for 6 months and I would say the value is there. They include such a variety of masks. Like Ragan said, you might find individual masks cheaper, but value is in the unique and different masks they send each month.
