I’m confused with how Allure bills. I signed up and was charged December 26th, was charged on Jan 5th, and charged again on Feb 8th, so far I’ve only received the January box (which is what I was aiming for when I signed up in December), but is it normal to have been charged so many times?

It seems you have a double charge. I signed up on Dec 27 and was charged then, but my account became “active” on Jan 5th but wasn’t charged and then I was charged on Feb 8th for Feb box. I was charged twice. You should contact CS if you haven’t already.

Luna

I would definitely call them, especially to inquire about that January 5th charge since you didn’t receive a December box.

I like everything in the box so far. The Laneige sleeping mask is a nice product. I purchased it and their essence on eBay for $20 each and like them both. No breakouts! Simple is a Target-ish product ((Ulta ha it too), but if you haven’t tried it yet, you’ll like it. I’ve received two samples of the foundation in other boxes before and the color match was right once.

I got 2 of the laneige sleeping lip masks for $10 on ebay. That stuff works great!!

Laurie

I know, doesn’t it! I purchased two of the Sephora Favorites boxes (still on sale) and it’s my favorite product in the box.

Heather

My January box only had 3 items in it. CS told me they would send me another box, but I didn’t get the January box until 1/29 and they haven’t charged for February yet. Haas anyone been charged?

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I’ve already been charged for February as well.

Courtney

I have been charged for February.

Laurie

I was charged on the 8th.

I was charged already for February.

I haven’t been charged yet either

Why are the boxes so heavy on Makeup Forever? I got a liquid lipstick from them in last month’s box in a color that I wouldn’t wear, and this lipstick looks like a similar color. I do prefer a bullet lipstick to liquid though. I’ve tried the foundation before and like it, but I’m curious as to how they’re going to know which shades to send to people. I’ve tried the Laneige product before and don’t like it. I also won’t use the hairspray. but I am excited for the cleansing wipes. I wonder what the other products will be…hopefully they are worth it.

Last month I got a full size of the Sunday Riley CEO serum worth $85!!! but I’d already tried it before and glycolic acid doesn’t work for my skin so I had to pass it on to a friend. I’ve really only enjoyed 1-2 products in each of the boxes I’ve gotten so far. I think I will cancel soon.

Oh hell no! Is this a Target box? The only way this box is going to be worth the actual cost of it for me is if the Laneige and Simply products are full sized. These are both items I can pick up at Target and for less than what I pay for this box. There’s no way the hairspray is going to be full size. The size of the foundation isn’t going to matter. How many people is it actually going to match? That lipstick is gaudy!

Am I missing something? Since when can you buy Laneige at Target? I’ve been searching around the internet and I only see it at Sephora, and it’s quite expensive as well.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I was wondering the same thing, because I remember Target stopped selling Laneige last year, then Sephora started to sell them. With all of the comments stating that they could get this at Target, I started to think that Target started to sell it again (which would be nice).

Christine

Laneige is a drugstore brand in Korea equivalent to a Maybelline, Milani or L’Oreal.

Sephora sells Laneige prices at a mark-up.

Nicole

Laneige started off in target but they may have stopped selling it there since it made it to higher end retailers like Sephora. They are owned by the same company as amore pacific so some of the products are very similar for way cheaper.

Kavya

Try eBay and only buy from Korean sellers. It’s much cheaper that way!

Dawn

Dang it! I wish I could go back and amend my comment. Someone just pointed out that this will be a 7 item box. So, maybe, depending on what those items are… Idk yet.

christine

I am hoping for a full-size of the foundation. I figure if they gave us the full size Sunday Riley, it’s possible for full size foundation, right? *keeping fingers crossed*

Reply ButtonReply

Laurie

The Simple, Oribe and Laneige won’t be full size as they wouldn’t fit in the box. My guess is the lipstick is the full size item, if there’s going to be one.

I just quit this box. It used to be my favorite and I had it for about a year or so- Somehow, I never got Januarys box. Not so crazy about the variations they sent in November either. No matter- I am on serious product overload anyway. Maybe I will get more boxes once I use some of what I have… Anyway, I think Allure is so busy looking for new subscribers, service is slipping toward those they already have/had.

Ooh, this is shaping up to be a strong box. I think the makeup remover wipes might be a three pack. Allure sent the Skinfix ones last year and those were a three pack (which I don’t mind as it makes them really portable for travel).

Maybe the extra two products will be a shampoo/conditioner duo? There isn’t that much room in that little red box.

Reply ButtonReply

Linda

Hmmm, would only be able to use the sleeping mask and the wipes. Curious as to what the other two spoilers will be 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Elena

7 items! Wow! I can’t wait already.

GodIsGood

This is spoiler #5 and I only see 5 products..am I missing something?? Thanks!!

MSA wrote that March’s box will include 7 items. 🙂

MeThree

They haven’t released the last two spoilers yet.

I just signed up in December for the Allure box, so I haven’t gotten any foundation until I get the March box. Can anyone tell me how they give out foundation? I have one box that gave me 3 shades I think on a card to try, and my Play box (I think it was) gave me a trial size that was actually pretty close to my complexion. Just curious-I’m hoping this isn’t a full size item since they don’t have a profile like Play! Does…?
I kind of expect the wipes may be full size. I haben’t tried those specific wipes, but did use wipes from Simple that broke me out. 🙁 Guess it will be a gift to someone. Still really happy with everything else!! I’d love if the mask was full size!!

Betty

Oribe and MF aren’t Target. Its an OK box not great but an OK IMO.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I was originally thinking the wipes would be the 7- (or maybe it’s 10-) pack I’ve received in other boxes, but a full-sized pack would be pretty awesome.

Reply ButtonReply

Iggy'sRock

I have a hard time with simple products also. My skin doesn’t like it.

Reply ButtonReply

Cp

I was hoping the sleeping face mask would be full size but after seeing these makeup remover wipes, I’m thinking we must be getting the wipes as full size….. to be continued lol

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

Someone mentioned that they emailed Allure and you’re supposed to get an email that offers you 4 diff shades that you choose from

Reply ButtonReply

Sheila

Such a good box I really like the simple wipes I have sensitive skin and they’ve never irritated me at all, but again everyone is different.

Reply ButtonReply

Mommaem

Now let’s see how many variations there are because I always seem to be getting the leftover crap from previous boxes. Be nice if they went back to the way of everybody getting the same box!

Reply ButtonReply

Megan

I won’t (can’t) use the hairspray, but everything else looks great! I’m excited to try the water sleeping mask and the wipes for sure.
I’m kind of kicking myself for buying that MAC lipstick last month since now it seems like I’m getting so many lip products in all my boxes lately, heh…

Reply ButtonReply

Betty

I just began using hairspray again to control my mop of hair, there are a lot of good sprays out there now. I had the great Aquanet fear but most now you can run the fingers through the hair. I’m excite to try the hairspray.

Reply ButtonReply

Cassandra

Woot!! SEVEN items!! That’s so awesome!! I continue to remain quite pleased with Allure!

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

Where do you see seven items?

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

MSA mentioned in the post above that March’s box will have 7 items. 🙂

Toni

Ok I want to try those wipes

Reply ButtonReply

sheridan

Agreed! I use micellar water daily and these wipes are quite nice and great for travel. This box looks awesome as usual.

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

I tried the regular Simple cleansing wipes and they are quite nice.

Reply ButtonReply

Kirsten

Not as good as January, but I wasn’t expecting it to be. This is actually a decent box. The sleeping mask is great, I love all Oribe, and will use the wipes. The others I could just try at Sephora.

Reply ButtonReply

Debbie

I signed up in December and while I had some issues getting the January box, the products from Allure are outstanding! May cancel Play! For $5 more per month it has been leaps and bounds better.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa B.

I agree! I signed up in December when I saw the January spoilers. I used to pretty well enjoy all but one or two of my Play! Box items and gift the others to family or friends that wanted them. Now, I might like 2-3 things. Not sure if it’s worth almost $11 counting tax for 2 items I like and nothing’s ever full size. I used to like my boxes because I might get a hair product, 1-2 skin care items, a lip color, & perfume. The last couple Play! Boxes seem to focus on one thing instead of a variety. Like this month with 2 lips things & last month SO much skincare… So far Allure is beating Sephora & I’ve only gotten December & January box for Allure so far.
