This box came with two cards. One is all about the featured brand:

And the other is about the featured products:

Now, time for the items!

Tammy Fender Bulgarian Rose Water – 1 oz Value Listed $15

I think this is the finest mist I’ve ever sampled! I held it at arm’s length away from my face when first testing it, and it didn’t even reach my face! So, while you can use it as a toner with a cotton swab, the mist feature is my favorite – it is perfect for a refresh and to help set makeup.

Tammy Fender Epi-Peel – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $80

This is a peel/exfoliation that is excellent for anyone with sensitive skin! It’s designed to help make skin softer and clearer by removing the accumulation of dead skin cells, refining pores, and eliminating impurities.

To use, apply to your skin with damp fingertips, massage, then allow to dry for about 5 minutes. Then wipe away with a damp cloth.

I found this to be super easy/simple to use, and I love that you only need 5 minutes! It was gentle, and my skin felt softer after removing it!

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $95. I think that’s a good value for the $49.95 cost, and this seems to be on the low end of values The Detox Box has sent in the past.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, right now you’re first box will be the January box. From Detox Box: The Detox Box ships the first week of each month via USPS Priority Mail (1-3 business days), or as soon as it’s ordered while supplies last.

  1. Thanks Luna, you’re a whiz at getting/knowing this information. I actually just purchased a health/wellness box from BH but I also let my subscription expire for the moment. I also have found that my least favorite BH boxes were the rare hair care and cosmetics boxes (although I wasn’t a member when they featured Vapour) but I tend to be more interested in skincare.

    • Ya, even though I’m swimming in skincare products, I have to admit I do favor the skincare or body care boxes to that rare hair care box (even though it was a great brand to try!). I remember they did a makeup box with Modern Minerals in 2016, and they got a ton of heat for that, so I think that’s why they now do them as a one-time purchase. But, having said that, I bought a 6-month subscription to the Detox Box, and I think it would be kind of cool if they did feature a brand not solely focused on facial skincare. I’m thinking it’s easy for them to focus on skincare though because it makes it a lot easier to reach that $90 promised value. 🙂

  2. I have a question, probably aimed at Luna. Which would you pick? Detox box or BeautyHeroes?

    • You’re too cute. 🙂 <– I'm actually blushing here. haha

Gosh, that's kind of a hard one. With both, you get to experience high-end/luxe green beauty brands, and it definitely seems like they both offer the latest & greatest thing from each brand, even before they're sold at full retail to the public.

I think they both have their own "limitations" in that the Detox Box will only feature brands sold at The Detox Market (but they do have quite an extensive selection of brands), whereas Beauty Heroes can make collaborations with brands like IBE brands that aren't sold at The Detox Market. As for Beauty Heroes, you have to subscribe for 3 months at a time, whereas with the Detox Box you can come & go on a monthly basis (however, that's at the higher $50/box price vs. BH's averaged $38(?)/box price). Plus, I sort of feel like they both offer the same value, and depending on the subscription plan you purchase, they could be at different prices.

Also, even though I know the Detox Box has been solely focusing on skincare for their first few boxes, there's always the possibility that they could feature one of their makeup, body, hair care, or wellness brands as well, so there's still the chance of greater product variety. While Beauty Heroes also mostly focuses on skincare, they have featured some brands that focus on haircare & body care in the past (just not often). They do have their makeup & wellness boxes, but those are sold separate from their monthly subscription boxes.

I'm sure I'm missing some other variables between the two boxes, but I guess it depends on what you're seeking out of the box. Personally, if I had to choose between the two, I'd go with Beauty Heroes, because I know I'll still be exposed to brands that The Detox Market sells, but chances are good that I'll be exposed to other brands that would never be featured in the Detox Box. Brand discovery is definitely one of my top reasons for subbing. 🙂

But, I'd love to hear others' takes on their top choices too!

      • In regard this question- to me its rather an easy choice to make. To me BH is better in everyway.$50/ month is too much for me , whereas with BH its only 39$/month. Sure you have to pay upfront 3 months but BH has never let me down with their boxes, I can totally justify that money. As far as the theme, products and brand selections go- BH has a better selections-skincare, haircare, bodycare, wellness etc. and I like that. Surely I want to take care my facial skin, but the rest of my body needs love too, either just a love yourself thing or for the perfect instagram picture. Not saying that the detox box is not good, but to me, it does fall short in multiple ways comparing to my beloved BH.

        • And another thing that makes Beauty Hereos a better box for me that I forgot to mention is that you always get 15% off their store if you ever want to replenish anything. 🙂

But, I agree… I don’t think the Detox Box is bad at all, and I’m sure others would prefer that to Beauty Heroes, but if my hand were put to the fire to decide which one out of BH or DB, I’d have to go with BH.
