Choco Pie Pablo Japanese-Style Cheesecake - Buy a pack of 12 for $7.45

This sweet treat was crazy good! I have had a similar snack that had a marshmallow filling, but this matcha was so unique. The filling wasn't too sweet, instead, it had a delightful matcha flavor that came in an almost whipped like texture that most likely comes from the cream cheese powder. The chocolate coating is super thin and very sweet. The cake surrounding that yummy whipped center is so fluffy it just crumbles at every bite. Such a unique treat!

Skoshbox December 2017 - Ponsuke Sweet and Salty Skoshbox December 2017 - Ponsuke Sweet and Salty 2

Ponsuke Sweet & Salty — Retail Value $3.99

I've gotten this snack in a box before so I was really excited to receive it again. This is the type of snack that you think isn't going to be much, but then you can't put the bag down! Each wheat puff is flavored with sugar, corn syrup, soy sauce, and salt so you get the best of both worlds - sweet and salty. The snack has that irresistible crunch that I love and has a sweet flavor that tastes similar to caramel to me. That saltiness from the soy sauce really makes this snack so addicting. Lucky for me, the bag is larger so plenty to go around!

Skoshbox December 2017 - Colaup Sour Powder Skoshbox December 2017 - Colaup Sour Powder 2

Colaup Sour Powder — Estimated Value $1.50 (price estimate based on similar product)

Candies like this always take me back to being a kid. Each little gummy is coated in sugar making them so sweet with a bit of sour. As you chew, you get a burst of cola that is so yummy. These are for sure something I would have enjoyed eating on a warm summer afternoon at a baseball game!

Skoshbox December 2017 - Puchi Pudding Jellies Skoshbox December 2017 - Puchi Pudding Jellies 2 Skoshbox December 2017 - Puchi Pudding Jellies 3

Puchi Pudding Jellies: Custard Flavor — Estimated Value $3.80 (price estimate based on similar product)

These little pudding jellies were very interesting. The bag is packed full of the little containers that looked like creamer packets to me. Inside are little jellies that had a bold custard flavor that was very sweet and creamy. Since these are jellies there was some excess water inside so I decided to eat mine with a spoon. While I didn't love this snack, it was very interesting to try and a cool way to have a little jelly snack on the go.

Skoshbox December 2017 - Blueberry Gum Skoshbox December 2017 - Blueberry Gum 2 Skoshbox December 2017 - Blueberry Gum 3

Blueberry Gum — Buy a box of 9 packets for $21.69

Imagine my excitement when I opened this packet of gum to see that they came in little sticks! It might seem silly, but I don't think I have seen a packet of gum like this in a long time. Not to mention, the art on each wrapper is so pretty. Each piece of gum has a sweet and tart blueberry flavor that is so delicious. The flavor doesn't last for too long so good thing there are multiple pieces in this packet!

Skoshbox December 2017 - Bisco Mini Pack Skoshbox December 2017 - Bisco Mini Pack 2

Bisco Mini Pack: Cafe Ole — Buy a pack of 20 for $8.73

A very simple snack that was just so yummy! These little cookies are sweet like vanilla that crumble and crunch when you bite. In the center of the cookies is a rich creamy icing that is cafe ole flavored. The filling was so rich and creamy and had a light nutty flavor that was so good. Honestly, I gobbled these cookies down all on my own, and they paired nicely with a warm cup of coffee.

Verdict: Skoshbox has quickly become one of my favorite snack boxes lately! Each snack is so unique and fun to taste test. Even if I don't love a snack, I have a great time learning more about how it was made, the ingredients, and trying something new. Overall, I think what makes Skoshbox so unique is the curation of each box. I know that I am going to get something different each month that will challenge my taste buds. Plus, you can't beat trying new sweet treats every month!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, if you sign up today you will receive the February box. All orders will start shipping for January on 1/31.

Value Breakdown: This monthly box is $12 a month with free shipping. I received six snacks which average out to $2 per item. The items this month were very unique, which is where the value really comes in.

That blueberry gum is so cute!

I agree with you — I’ve gotten several different types of gum from Japanese snack boxes in the past, and they’ve all been the tablet-shaped kind that have a crunchy outer coating, so getting sticks of gum is actually really cool!
