Kloverbox Natural Beauty Subscription Box December 2017 Review
This cold Pittsburgh winter is really drying out my skin and scalp. Let's see if there are any remedies in this month's Kloverbox:
Here's the info card for this month's box!
Kurandza Handmade Bracelet - Retail Value $25.00
This subscription centers around natural beauty products, but lately, it's been dabbling in home products and now, accessories! I love this bracelet! The patterns and color scheme are so me—bold, high-contrast... there are even patches of gold glitter!
This is just the kind of thing I'd wear to spice up a day-to-day t-shirt and jeans. The opening is about 2 inches wide, and the bangle itself is about 0.75 inches wide. Love that zig-zag design, too!
The bracelet is essentially a fabric-wrapped bangle that's made by hand. Kurdanza products are made by women in Mozambique and support Kurdanza's efforts to bring education to girls in Mozambique. Awesome!
Evelyn Iona Beauty Green Tea Primer, 0.67 fl. oz. - Retail Value $29.50
This primer goes on creamy but fades to clear as you blend it in. I'm used to more mainstream primers that have a sort of velvety feel and finish, but this one almost feels more like a moisturizer—it's thinner in consistency, but creates an amazingly soft, smooth finish. I love that this primer makes it feel like it's really changing my skin, rather than just putting a smooth veil of product on top of my skin. In other words, this product feels like it's seeping in and nourishing my skin, making it makeup-ready from the inside out. Kloverbox is awesome about including discounts for their members on the products featured in the box, and I feel like this primer is one I might have to order more of!
Loba Mane Transformative Hair Mask, 2 oz. - Retail Value $10.00
My dry, blow-dried, color-treated hair is soooooo happy to see this mask! This creamy mask goes on wet hair, sits for a few minutes, then rinses out to reveal beautifully conditioned tresses. I love the gentle scent, which is a little bit like shea butter or coconut—a little nutty, buttery, and tropical. The magical ingredients in this nourishing mask include coconut, buruti, and tucuma, argan, and avocado. So, a TON of natural, nourishing goodness. It even left my hands feeling softer and happier after working with it!
ZZ Skin Mineral Highlight Powder - Listed Value $17.95
This powder doesn't come with a listed amount, nor does the website note how big the pot is, so I'm going to trust Kloverbox and say that the pot I got is a full-size version worth $17.95. To give you an idea, the pot is about 1.5 inches across and 0.75 inches deep.
The powder itself is pale, almost lilac-like pink in the jar, but goes on incredibly sheer. But aside from a little bit of twinkle here and there, it doesn't do all that much, particularly on my super-pale skin. (Trust me, there's about two square inches of the stuff on my arm in the photo above... It's just really hard to see...)
Verdict: This month's Kloverbox had some great winter wins. The primer and hair mask were like a big drink of water for my parched hair and skin. And I love the bangle, not just for its fun style, but for its amazing mission, too. The highlighter? Eh, I like that it's made with natural ingredients, but this one was a miss for me. But I'm getting such value out of the other items in the box that I don't mind one not-so-hot product.

Value Breakdown: The box cost $25.00, but I estimate that I received $82.45 in value. That means I spent approximately the following on each item:
- Bracelet - $7.58
- Primer - $8.94
- Hair mask - $3.03
- Highlight powder - $5.44
