Yes, Oh Yas! November 2017 Review

This is my first month getting this subscription. Let’s check it out:

Nabi Strobing Cream Shade 3 tube closed

Nabi Strobing Cream Shade 3 closeup of cap off

Nabi Strobing Cream Shade 3, 40g - Retail Value $3.99

This product says “highlighting & bronze cream” but I don’t think this shade is supposed to be both. I think this could be a light pink highlighting shade for me and then I would get a darker shade from this line as a bronzing cream. The texture is a little tacky and it smells just like ... glue. I don’t think I’ll end up using this because I have better products for highlighting.

Bellápierre Cosmetics Makeup Base closed

Bellápierre Cosmetics Makeup Base jar opened

Bellápierre Cosmetics Makeup Base, 5g - Retail Value $19 (found here for $9.50)

I’m not in the habit of using eyeshadow primers but this stuff works so well, especially for shimmery shades (you’ll see those next). It’s a thick cream that goes a long way. I’ve used it with different eyeshadows and they do not crease or budge at all. It is even supposed to be water-proof. The site says that some people even use it as a concealer for extra tough spots to cover. The price point isn’t bad for a product that will last a long time.

Yes Oh Yas November 2017 - Eyeshadows

The next three products are all Shimmer Powders from Bellápierre Cosmetics. They are 100% pure mica so they are super shimmery and highly pigmented. I found them to be easy to blend and they didn’t irritate my eyes at all. When applied over the included makeup base, they last all day without creasing. All of Bellápierre’s products are cruelty-free and made with natural minerals. (You can see an eye look I did below.)

Bellápierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Excite eyeshadow

Bellápierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Excite, 2.35g - Retail Value $15 (found here for $7.50)

This is a white shade with a violet shimmer.

Bellápierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Lavender

Bellápierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Lavender, 2.35g - Retail Value $15 (found here for $7.50)

This shade is a soft lilac purple with an icy blue shimmer.

Bellápierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Calm

Bellápierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Calm, 2.35g - Retail Value $15 (found here for $7.50)

This shade is a shimmery dark plum with a subtle pink sheen.

Yes Oh Yas November 2017 - Brushes

Two brushes from Bellápierre are included this month. Their brushes are made from synthetic bristles that are super soft and don’t shed.

Bellápierre Cosmetics Eyeshadow Brush No. 35 - Retail Value $20 (on sale for $10)

This eyeshadow brush is perfect for the crease or for packing shimmer on. The bristles are dense and pick up a lot of product.

Bellápierre Cosmetics Eyeliner/Brow Brush No. 18 - Retail Value $13 (on sale for $6.50)

This is an angled liner brush that comes to a pretty sharp point when used wet. It also could be used to fill in brows.

All of the items swatched from top to bottom: makeup base, strobing cream, shimmer powders: Excite, Lavender, and Calm.

Yes Oh Yas November 2017 - Face

Here is a look using all of the products from this month. I used Excite on the inner corners of my eyes and under my brow. Then I blended it over to the middle of my lid with Lavender. I applied Calm with the included eyeshadow brush to the outer corners and then blended it out. I also used the eyeliner brush to run a line of Calm over my upper eyelid. I really it! It is punchy but also wearable for me. I’m sure that you could do so many different looks with these shades. I popped a little of the strobing cream onto my cheekbones, but you can see it doesn’t have a big effect.

Verdict: Yes, Oh Yas! has a retail value of $100.99 (less with sale prices). That is super high for a cost of $12.99 plus shipping! I like the mix of tools and makeup and all items, except for the strobing cream, will be used. There are 7 full-sized products this month which follow through on what the box promises and I appreciate that they all can be used separately or together for a look. I’m looking forward to seeing what they include over the next few month’s because the sneak peeks are showing lots of exciting product shades!

There are sometimes knockoffs on Groupon like fake Urban Decay Naked Pallettes whic can be full of crappy and even toxic and illegal ingredients,.

but othertimes Gilt, LivingSocial, and Groupon are selling a lot of different products from the same brand that implies that the brand made more product then they could sell at full price, so Groupon will sell items super cheap because they are nearing the end of their shelf life. Or nearing the expiration date.

but cosmetics are considered fine to sit on a shelf at a drugstore for 30 months, so it doesn’t mean that the groupon items are expired or no longer good. sometimes it will be certain colors that weren’t popular.

On their site, it says 3 full – sized items. Are there spoilers for December?
Thanks for reviewing!

On their Facebook page there is pictures of the December box. Looks like a Profusion brow pencil, Luna highlighter, Jontebleu lipstick and Bella Pierre lip palette. The lip palette looks strange. I know they say full size products and maybe it’s just the pictures but it looks like the cardboard sample product size.

There’s no claim that there are coupons. Not every box offers them, and this one is pretty inexpensive so I doubt they ever would.

No place to click for coupons at the end of this post??

What lipstick are you wearing?

Hi Erica, I’m wearing Pacifica Devocean Lipstick in Tenderness with a bit of the Shimmer Powder in Excite (from this review) dabbed on top.

Thanks for reviewing this one! I ran across them on instagram a while ago. I lost interest a bit once I realized they charged shipping. I do like that they tend to send full size things, not samples though. I’m not sure how well they test to make sure products are good, but they tend to have a lot from BellaPierre which seems nice (though is often on Groupon.)

Does a product being on Groupon make it less/cheap? Zoya is sold on Groupon, as is Pureology, and I love both brands. I’m honestly asking, not being snarky or jerky.
