Trendy Memo December 2017 Review

Silhouette Stuff Cups stacked and packaged

Silhouette Stuff Cups unstacked and sitting next to each other

Silhouette Stuff Cups with pens and paperclips inside

Silhouette Stuff Cups – Retail Value $16.00

This sleek design consists of two “stuff cups’, the taller cup can be used for holding pencils, emery boards, mascara, or any tall item and the other shorter cup can store paper clips, loose change, bobby pins, cotton balls, or whatever small trinkets that need storing. The “stuff cups” are durable and sturdily made of thermoplastic rubber. I have an assortment of beauty products, and I can use these “stuff cups” for storing those products.

Whipped Body Butter jar closed showing label

Whipped Body Butter, 4oz – Retail Value $15.00

This body butter was creamy, light and fluffy in texture and not greasy; this tackled my dry, winter skin and left my skin smooth and soft. I received a whipped body butter in a previous subscription box, and that body butter was too thick and greasy when I applied it to my skin. So, this texture is my preferred choice. I received lemon vanilla sugar, and there was a faint lemon scent after applying. The product is handmade in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A few of the moisturizing ingredients are shea butter, sunflower oil, avocado oil, and rice bran oil.

Frost Peppermint Lip Balm

Frost Peppermint Lip Balm – Retail Value $3.00

This moisturizing lip balm in peppermint kept my lips hydrated and moist. The ingredients are soybean oil, sunflower oil, beeswax, hemp oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, vitamin E, aloe vera, and flavor.

two holiday cards

Holiday Cards, set of 2 – Estimated Value $4.00? (buy boxes of 15 for $12.95 each)

These cards are not sold individually, but only in boxed sets. How appropriate to include holiday greetings in this month’s box. The cards are blank inside, and on the front of the card it says,”Warm Holiday Wishes” and the other card says, “Making Merry Christmas Spirits Bright.” I send greeting cards all year-long and will enjoy sending these out.

Set of Four Retractable Gel Luxe Pens packaged

Set of Four Retractable Gel Luxe Pens unpacked and next to each other

Set of Four Retractable Gel Luxe Pens – Retail Value $8.00 (found here for $6.40)

This four pack of retractable gel pens with silver clip come in cobalt, aqua, navy, and pool blue with blue ink that glides on the paper. I have accumulated many pens; I’m stocked up for a while.

Scarf with cream and beige plaid folded

Scarf with cream and beige plaid open

Plaid Scarf – Estimated Value $24.00?

The weather is finally getting cooler in California, and this acrylic cashmere triangle scarf will come in handy. The material is soft, and I did notice a small amount of fuzz shedding off the scarf, no big deal but it was noticeable. The grey and cream stripe colors will accessorize well with a variety of outfits I own. The scarf can be styled as a shawl, as well.

Verdict: The December box was a hit with a mix of office supplies, beauty, and a fashion item, this is a departure from the standard office products I have received in the past. This box amazes me each month. Even though pens and lip balms have been in previous boxes, it seems to be a product that’s always needed, maybe have once or twice a year in the box, going forward, just a thought. This box deliver’s on its promise to send 4-6 products on a monthly basis and have the items be geared for my office and be on trend. Trendy Memo has a boxed value of $70.00, which is higher than previous boxes I received except last month’s box that was a higher value as well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the January box.

  1. The angles of the pictures you took of the pencil holders do not show us a great view of the actual shape. Please take better pictures.

  2. Seeing the pens used would have been helpful 🙂 to see the colors and how they write

  3. I loved this box!! And those pens are awesome- they write amazingly well!! 🙂

  4. I subscribed for interesting office items, so their transition to a “lifestyle box” is a definite miss for me. The last thing I need is another lifestyle box, particularly one that sends body care and other fragranced items. As someone with numerous allergies, those items get donated. Oh well. At least this helps me trim down the subs I’m getting!
