Cat Buds Ruffled Socks by Alicia Reese for Sock It To Me - Retail Value $11
I immediately squealed a bit when I saw these in the box because the cats remind me so much of a Louis Wain cat! I don't know exactly why this particular cat gives me the Louis Wain vibes, but I just adore his art, so regardless, they make me happy! The pattern features a cute cat head within a blooming pink and red rose with green leaves against a black background. There are hot pink heels and toes to match the pink of the roses, but the most special part of these crew socks are the ruffle around the top cuff. It gives them a very prissy romantic feel to them, which I normally wouldn't go for but these socks have me smitten!
Ouija Board Planchette Keychain by House of Wonderland - Retail Value $10.13 USD
This pink enamel and gold metal keychain was quite a surprise! I'm so used to receiving pins and patches, but this has the same feel of an enamel pin that you can hang off of your keys. I love the colors and the fact that the planchette (I had to look up what it was actually called) has a hole cut out makes it more fun! This little keychain brings some witchy magic forth.
Fangs Enamel Pin by Valfré - Retail Value $12
Valfré is a super popular Mexican-born artist based in Los Angeles who makes all sorts of fun accessories and clothes for all the cool kids out there. She happens to be the featured pin artist in the Quirky Crate this month, so I'm excited to receive one of her items in Quirky Post as well! This high-quality enamel pin is gold metal with pink gums and bright white fangs. The gap in the front teeth makes is even cooler and I like that it's only the top teeth instead of a whole set. This would have been great in the October box for Halloween, but I'll rock this all year 'round. My only complaint is that I wish this long pin had two pin backings to hold it on!
Verdict: Quirky Post is cheaper than her big sis (Quirky Crate) at $15.90 a month ($12.95 + $2.95 shipping) and dare I say that I kiiiinda like it better?! Less is more in my eyes and I'm all about the smaller items. You're always going to get a pin and socks and that third item is also super fun! I'm stoked that my third item was the ouija keychain this time! I lucked out and got a really amazing value of $33.13 for the three items I received!
