Papergang by Ohh Deer Stationery Subscription Box Review – November 2017
Papergang is a monthly stationery subscription box from quirky UK design team, Ohh Deer. Each month they partner with a different artist and have a theme to bring you paper goods and desk accessories.
They always have really stellar packaging designed specially each month (by the featured artist), and the back has a paper cut out craft (a greyhound!) designed by Daniel Randle.
Here’s the greyhound, all cut-out and folded! I’m not 100% sure that it is correct, but it’s the best I could figure!
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The Subscription Box: Papergang

Papergang November 2017 Review
Papergang has a cute little info booklet each month that matches the box and theme of the contents! This month was designed by Allison Black and £1 GBP per box sold goes to the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
The following pages have the contents listed out and a short description of what Battersea is all about.
On the next two pages, they interview Sean Welland who is the rehoming and welfare manager at Battersea.
Next, there is a short interview with the featured artist, Allison Black.
Lastly, you’ll see that you can win £20 GBP by sharing your photos with the hashtag #papergang.
“Dachshund Through The Snow” Holiday Greeting Cards by Allison Black, Set of 2 – Retail Value $6.76 USD (£5)
As soon as I saw these, I knew exactly who would be receiving them. Two separate couples that are some of my favorite people on earth live in Seattle and Chicago and both have Dachshunds (I’m really impressed with myself that I spelled that on my own without help)! Even though I won’t get to hang out with Emma the Dachshund in Seattle and Fudge and Brownie in Chicago this holiday season, I want their parents to know I am thinking of them! Also, note the cute branded Ohh Deer kraft paper envelopes that come with them.
Bulldog “Tis The Season” Holiday Greeting Cards, Set of 2 – Retail Value $6.76 USD (£5)
Next, I received two greeting cards with a big cute Bulldog on them that read “Tis The Season”. I have a pretty fair amount of dog-owner friends but none of them have a bulldog. These still went to good use since they are super cool.
Grumpy Fairy Lights Cat Greeting Card, Set of 2 – Retail Value $6.76 USD (£5)
Now we are talking! Though I can appreciate they many doggos I know, I am a cat person through and through. Here, I got a set of 2 cat cards with a very grumpy white kitty on the front, covered in lights. The inside is blank so I can write something cheery to offset the anger of the cover star.
Spotty Dog A5 Perfect Bound Notebook – Retail Value $10.74 USD (£7.95)
This 6 x 8.25-inch notebook is super thick and a wonderful size for journalling your new year. The cover has colored polka dots against a black background and the inside cover features Allison Black’s cute illustration of a spotty dog complete with bow tie and party hat. Each page is lined with a simple dot at the edge of each side. Like everything in this box, proceeds from the sale of this go to the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, so each time you write, you can revel in the part you played to save animals over in the UK!
Holiday Cats and Dogs Gift Wrap, 2 Sheets – Retail Value $4.73 USD (£3.50)
Another item that is no stranger to Papergang and great for this time of year are these 2 sheets of gift wrap! The pattern matches the box it all came in, covered in doggies and kitties all dressed up in their holiday gear. Each sheet of wrap has the teal green cats and dogs pattern on one side and is blank on the other. They measure 27 x 19.5 inches, so there is a good bit to wrap quite a few smaller presents.
Holiday Cats and Dogs Gift Tags, Set of 3 – Retail Value $1.28 USD (£0.95)
To complete your gift giving experience, they’ve also included three tags to add to your beautifully wrapped presents! There is a classic “Merry Christmas” against a red background, the punny “From Meow to You” on a green, and finally, a “Pawsome Christmas” against a black background, with red and white twine included.
Riso Printed Calendar
Lastly, there is always the riso printed calendar for the next month. January was made with red ink and has Allison Black’s spotted dog once again prancing across the top.
Verdict: Papergang stuffed a box full of holiday cheer with their November installment. I loved receiving six super cute holiday cards since I was too lazy to go buy any this year, and I love that money from every box sold went to a cat and dog shelter! The notebook is large and in charge, and the tags and gift wrap allowed me to be able to spend less time shopping for wrapping and more time shopping for the gifts themselves. For about $20 USD for this box (including shipping), I received just over $37 USD of exclusive items by a talented artist.
