Hasbro Gaming Crate “Hands On Gaming” Party Box November 2017 Review
An informative card noting the premise of each game is included so you know what to expect. This was extremely helpful to read through before opening each game.
Ages 6+, 4 – 8 Players
Each team is in a race to build the fastest burger on order! The tricky part is that you will be wearing SLAMBURGER gloves, gloves with ingredients on both sides. You will have to work together as a team to flip and stack each burger!
You are going to start with two teams, and each team gets the same set of SLAMBURGER gloves to use when building your burger. You will need to have one player selected to draw and “order up” the burger. Once a burger is selected, each team is in a race to the finish to build that burger! Only ingredients that are face-up will count. Whoever finishes first must yell “order up” and then you get a point if you have the most correct ingredients showing.
I must admit, this game was a bit challenging since it is so hands on. This would be really fun for younger kids to play because it really is about organization and racing to win! I could see myself playing this at a sleep-over when I was younger. I will be sure to save this for when my son is a bit older!
Flies In The Food Truck
Ages 8+, 2 Players
How far would you go to help get the flies away from this food truck? Would you sing a song, act crazy, or maybe roll a 4-of-a-kind? In this game, you want to help Pesto flick away the flies from his food truck, but this dice rolling game might require you to run in circles or more before you can really help our friend Pesto!
Each of the yucky flies on the food pictures can be put on the pawn stands, and be sure to set them in the middle of yourself and whomever you are playing with. You both want to have a set of 5 dice and make sure to pick a character from the set of cards. You are going to pick a new card in each round, but before a new round starts you must act out or do whatever your character card tells you to do! Next, you are going to start rolling your dice until someone gets a 4-of-a-kind. Once someone gets the number, they can knock down one of the bug food cards! The first player to knock over 3 cards is the winner!
This was another game that seems fun for younger kids to play. I decided to play this game at home with my husband, but we both got bored pretty quickly. My niece was just recently in town, and even though she is a bit younger than the age requirement to play, she thought this game was pretty silly! I think I will hold onto this one as well for when my son gets a bit older.
Ages 10+, 2-8 Players
This is another speed game, but you will have to use your words instead of your hand to win! You are in a race to get through your entire set of cards by blurting out words that fit the examples and letters in the category listed on your card.
Each player is going to be dealt 8 cards, 4 from the letter card deck and 4 from the categories deck. You can always set some ground rules, like no made-up words or no naming fictional characters. Unlike most games, everyone plays at once in Motor Mouth! To start, the dealer will flip over a category card, then each player will look at their cards in hand, and using that card you must think of a word that starts with that letter but also fits the category selected! So you have to think and speak quickly! Once you have selected a word, throw your card down, it is a race to have no cards left.
This game was some serious fun! I played with my entire family and boy did we scream over each other most of the game. It was fun to see who could handle the pressure and what silly words people thought of next.
Bonus Game Pieces
This cool bonus item is a set of Monopoly tokens. They were specially chosen for this month’s box! I am not sure when I will use the sliced bread game piece, but it sure is a silly set to enjoy!
The Verdict: The Hands On Hasbro Gaming Crate was very interesting because many of the games are more about racing to the finish in order to win. While Motor Mouth was my favorite game of the month, the other two games are ones that I will be saving for when my son is a bit older. So I know I will get use out of each game in the long run. I do love the “hands on” gaming theme for this month being included in the family crate because they really are games for kids to enjoy!

Value Breakdown: This box is $49.99 a quarter, and I received a total of three exclusive games, not counting the bonus game pieces. That calculates out to about $17.00 per item, which seems slightly high for the games that were featured this month. A lot of the games were smaller and more for kids. I would like to see at least one larger game featured to bring that overall value up slightly, but overall this box was so much fun.
