GlobeIn always includes a beautiful little booklet that highlights the artisans who made the goods included in your box. They tell personal stories of how making these items helps encourage independence, fair wages, and safe work environments for the craftsmen. These co-ops and small businesses also help the local communities in which they’re based.

Wooden Mini Puzzle, India – Listed Retail Value $20.00

Puzzles like this drive me a little crazy, but this one is so beautifully crafted that I can’t stay mad at it, even if I can’t solve it. Each piece is hand carved from rosewood and sustainable mango wood to give it the two lovely natural tones that make it a lovely piece to keep out on your coffee table to delight or frustrate your guests.

Luckily, they’ve included this answer key in case you can’t solve it!

Rosewood Dice With Pouch, Set of 4, India – Listed Retail Value $12.00

Well, these have to be the loveliest dice I’ve seen. Carved from rosewood with brass inlaid dots, this set of four dice are certain to class up any game you use them with. Each die is 3/4 inch squared and feels super light in your hand. They come complete with a soft cotton drawstring bag to keep them safe. This will be a great stocking stuffer for my family!

Wooden Spinning Top, India – Listed Retail Value $10.00

My mom used to collect tops when I was younger, and I have fond memories of playing with all of the different ones that she had displayed on a bookshelf in our living room. This one has been hand carved like the other wooden items in the box and is overall a stately piece to have laying around to occupy idle hands. I love the striped pattern of the different woods that were used!

Sketch Book (Assorted Colors), India, Listed Retail Value $12.00

The perfect gift for the artistic one in your family or friend group, this unique sketchbook made from 100% recycled cotton really wows with its colorful mixed pattern cover. The paper used to make this notebook started as discarded material from India’s textile industry. It was collected and broken down to make pulp, then ironed and hung out to dry. The binding is sewn by hand with cotton thread and the gorgeous cover is incredibly soft. The best part is that Matr Boomie (who also made the gift tags below) is a family-run business that has empowered 20,000 artisans in 40 communities.

Assorted Gift Tags, Set of 4, India – Listed Retail Value $6.00

Gift tags are always needed this time of year, so they made a great move including these in the collection this month. Each of the four designs features a different pattern and color to brighten up the package you attach it to. The back of each tag is a solid color which allows you to write a short holiday message or at the very least, “to” and “from”.

Mini Palm Leaf Basket, Mexico – Listed Retail Value $8.00

My house is now flourishing with palm baskets, thanks to GlobeIn. Since this one is a mini and stands about four inches tall, it makes the perfect gift box (which is how I intend to use it). This festive maroon and green basket the right size to present the wooden top from this month to my Mom. I can even use one of the included gift tags!

Verdict: GlobeIn Artisan Box’s “Play” box is full of beautifully carved wooden pieces, handmade paper goods, and of course a palm basket. This ended up being a wonderful December selection to use as small gifts for my loved ones, which takes a bit of holiday pressure off of me. I received six handmade responsibly sourced items for $68 for a cost of $50.

  1. We are saying the same thing. The key as posted does not match the puzzle as posted, which is why I said I have a chance at solving it because there is more than one winning combination.
    It’s all good 😉

  2. That key does not match the puzzle…. I might have a chance of solving it if there are multiple winning combos!

    • ?? The key matches.

    • It definitely matches…

    • Technically there are multiple winning combos because since it’s a square you can orient it whichever way you like.

      • It doesn’t match. Look at just the lighter pieces…. in the actual puzzle the M-shaped piece in the upper right is in the same place in the key. So is the square in the middle. None of the others are in the same place. In the actual puzzle, the light L-shaped piece butts up against the M. In the key the light chair shaped piece does. You can orient it any way you want… but it doesn’t match.

        • That’s because there is more than one solution. You can take the pieces and place them in the square to make them match exactly how the key lays them out. So, I say the key matches because it has all of the pieces you actually receive, not because they are the same solution. What you say is a match and what we are saying must be two different things. But there is an ‘m’ in the key and you get an ‘m’ puzzle piece, same as all the other pieces so the key matches because you get one of each shape piece with your actual puzzle.
