Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. You can shop Fabletics in two ways—you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
  • Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $19.00 for new members. (I'm not sure if "new members" refers to just your first order, though.)
  • Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you'd get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you'll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.

The key takeaway here is that this subscription won't automatically send you monthly packages like other services do. You have to hop into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

fabletics outfit for december 2017

Minny Outfit (Charlee Pullover Hoodie, Size Medium, Salar Solid Powerhold Capri, Size Large) - Retail Value $119.90, VIP Price $69.95

I'm so into the pale pink pieces in the December Fabletics collection! I know, trend-wise, millennial pink is already getting tired (and I'm personally very excited for the millennial teal takeover that's been foretold...), but what can I say? It's still high on my list of favorite colors. And as someone who doesn't wear a ton of color as it is, I've found this powdery pink hue to be a fresh way to break up all the gray, black, and denim that makes up the majority of my wardrobe.

bell sleeves pink sweatshirt on model

It was easy to say yes to this combo of a pullover and black leggings, especially given the fun bell sleeves on the hoodie! They're not really bells as much as they're the equivalent of wide-leg pant legs in sleeve form. Ha! By that I mean they don't have a flare about them like the bottom of a bell—rather they just... get wider. You can see in the top picture what I mean. And you can see in the photo just above how much fun I'm having with them.

The inside of this cotton-poly pullover has that dreamy, ultra-soft new-sweatshirt fleece-iness about it, while the outside has a smooth knit finish. The hood is what I'm most impressed with, though. I don't know if it's just me, but I have countless experiences getting hoodies with just the saddest excuses for hoods. Scrawny, flimsy hoods that barely stay on my head (especially if I have a ponytail in). To me, the ideal hood is big, voluminous, covers my head (a no-brainer), and just feels... cozy. Folks, this hood checks all the boxes! It's definitely big (I did feel a bit like a little fitness elf in it), but the drawstring lets you scrunch it down to a comfortable position. Or if you're like me, you just leave it huge and love it!

black cropped salar leggings from fabletics

The only thing I'd change about the leggings is that they're cropped, which is just a thing I'm not the biggest fan of. I can't really say why. It's just never been my thing, y'know? Luckily, I'm only 5' 3", so the crop doesn't come across as too... croppy. Salar leggings are one of my favorite styles from Fabletics—they're a poly/elastane blend that's thick and supportive without being restrictive, and they have a delightfully smooth finish. Black may not be the most exciting color (and Fabletics has a ton of bright bold patterns and hues to choose from), but they're the perfect staple to keep in my workout clothes drawer.

Verdict: I love the fit and the out-of-the-ordinary style of this month's Fabletics outfit! I'm a little bummed that this outfit was $20.00 more than the $49.95 membership I pay each month, meaning I have to pony up more than I've already committed to get a look I really love. I've found that there are always looks priced at $49.95, but they tend to be suuuuper basic. Most of the looks that are more distinctive (in other words, the looks that make me want to keep buying from Fabletics), end up being at least $59.95 or more. But I've gotta say, the quality of the pieces and the unique styles are definitely worth the price.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! Sign up here to nab this look in your size (it comes in black, too!), or browse other styles.

Coupon - New VIP members can use this link to get your two pairs of leggings for $24!

Value Breakdown: This jacket costs $69.95 + free shipping. The original, non-VIP price is $119.90, meaning I got a savings of about 42%.

All I can see is cold air rushing up those sleeves. I wear a hoodie because I want to be warm. Those sleeves are awful.

The outfit looks great on you! I have the hoodie in gray (from the store – I don’t subscribe to Fabletics) and I LOVE it. So comfy!

I keep waiting to get sick of millennial pink, but it hasn’t happened yet. (and i’m far from millennial). It’s just pretty. And this outfit is really cute on you.

“They’re the equivalent of wide-leg pant legs in sleeve form” – ha! You are too adorable Anna! I love that description and I’m so happy you like the look too! I love it, but it’s definitely out of the ordinary as you put it.
