Bianca Jade MizzFit Box #Miz17 for Quarterly Co. Review
There's so much to check out in this awesome box! Let's get started:
There's so much to read in this box! A letter from fitness guru Bianca Jade and a product list is written out on these cards.
There's a pack of promotional info in the box, as well. The coupon for the jewelry is actually listed as one of the "items" in the box, FYI. There's no actual piece in the box—you just get the coupon code!
You. Are. The. One. by Kute Blackson - Retail Value $16.00 (Found here for $10.87)
I think self-help books are always so fun to read this time of year, and most of the time, they're pretty helpful, too! I actually saw this book at a store (Target, I think?) and paged through it a bit before getting it in this box! Bianca recommends it as a way to bring more positivity into your 2018 outlook. I'm enjoying the encouragement to shift my perspective and find my own power.
Book Summary on Amazon:
A charismatic visionary and transformational teacher offers a bold new look at spiritual awareness providing the tools needed to live a life truly inspired by love for a whole new generation.
Kute Blackson comes from a long line of spiritual leaders and works with people from all walks of life, offering his own uniquely powerful process to transform lives from the inside out. His inspirational and life-changing YouTube videos, seminars, and conferences are known throughout the world, but it’s his trademark transformation experiences that set him apart. The intensive one-on-one and one-of-a-kind transformational mother of all trips is a 14-day, 24/7 journey into such remote places as the bowels of India where the client—armed with nothing but a backpack, a change of clothes, and a journal—works with Blackson until he discovers what he hasn’t yet found. Whether it’s about forgiveness, confronting inner demons, letting go of self-hatred or the scars of the past, those hard-earned, sweat-proof lessons Blackson instills in his clients are right here, in this book, You Are The One. No need to pack your bags or renew your passport.
So what are you waiting for?
For someone to save you? If so, you’re not alone. But it’s not going to happen. Your parents won’t rescue you. Your friends won’t carry you. No one’s coming. Know why? Everything you are seeking is within you already. Because you’re already here. You. Are. The. ONE.
You Are The One is a reflection of Blackson’s unique and distinctive thoughts, teachings, stories, and poetic inspirations to help you access your true power and live boldly and fully in the world—with no regrets.
Bikini Babe 14 Day Skinny Again Tea Detox and 14 Day Good Night Cleanse - Estimated Value $31.21 ($39.95 AUD)
I'm not the type to worry about weight loss in the new year, but my body does feel much better when I get back to eating good-for-me, nutrient-dense foods after a holiday season of mashed potatoes, cheese, bread, cookies, more mashed potatoes, wine, pie... did I mention mashed potatoes? Bianca says in her note that while she's not into diets that restrict eating (as in, don't dare think she wants you to have tea and JUST tea for 14 days...), she does like the idea of the structure of a tea-tox, which might help jumpstart your discipline and getting back to a less indulgent routine. I've never tried a tea-tox before, but I can say that these teas taste pretty good (I did a little sampling—they're basically both different shades of herbal tea with a bit of minty flavor in each), or at least as good as I'd want from a cup of tea. I love having a hot mug of coffee on my desk during the day, so I'm hoping I can swap that out for a mug of tea in order to get the cleansing, antioxidant effects of each brew. Plus, just drinking more water will be a really great step in the right direction!
Rise Bar in Almond Honey, 2.1 oz. - Buy 12 for $27.99 here
I'm always on the lookout for new protein bars to try. I especially love ones with simple ingredients, and this one really takes the cake. All that's in this chewy, richly sweet bar is almonds, honey, and whey protein! It's got 20g of protein, which is nice for a vegetarian like me. The flavor is tasty, too—it's nutty and sweet, and reminded me of the peanut-butter-and-honey sandwiches I would go wild for as a kid.
Botanics 100% Organic Nourishing Facial Oil with Rosehip, 25 ml - Retail Value $17.99
Ugh, this has been such a lifesaver for me! My skin gets sooooo dry this time of year, either because of cold winter air or the hot, bone-dry air circulating through my apartment. This oil has a lightness to it that my skin has really appreciated—it absorbs quickly and easily without leaving my skin feeling slick—and the gentle rose smell is pretty, rather than overwhelming. I've been using this as a makeup remover before bed as well as a moisturizer in the morning. Hooray for happy skin!
SOS Hydration in Coconut, 10 count - Retail Value $8.90
These guys were... okay. I'm just not a huge drink mix person. I liked the lightly sweet coconut taste (it was actually pretty coconutty, and the mix is flavored with a bit of cane sugar and stevia to help pump up the flavor), but I kind of felt like I'd rather spring for actual coconut water (or water for that matter). I think the appeal here is that there's a bit less sugar in this mix than in real coconut water, but I always feel better drinking the real stuff. Still, it might be helpful to have this on hand in a pinch. (These kinds of electrolytes are great for post-party mornings!)
Baby Foot Exfoliating Foot Peel - Retail Value $25.00
I AM SO EXCITED TO GET A BABY FOOT PACK! This thing is the weirdest, but the best at the same time. It goes like this—you put the lavender-scented booties on your feet for around an hour (though going a little longer won't hurt), during which all of the magical exfoliants inside get to work soaking into your calloused feet. Take off the booties, and give your feet a good soak to get all the stuff off. A few days later, the Baby Foot magic begins, by which I mean your feet shed like a gosh darn snake leaving nothing but happy, smooth skin behind. I am so thrilled! I haven't treated myself to a pedicure in awhile, and this seems like that level of pampering and then some!
Lequa Total Control Razor with Leaf Hanger - Retail Value $13.98
I tested this razor when I was in a bit of a rush to get out to a holiday party, and I was happy to see that even so, it left my legs knick-free and smooth! The handle didn't prove to be that much different from other razors I've tried (I've actually been using Harry's razors lately and loving them), but I suppose having the wider bit in the front did give me a little more leverage than usual.
I was a little bummed that there weren't any spare cartridges in the box, but they did include a little pink leaf-shaped hanger for the razor. It worked pretty well for the first day, but I noticed the suction cup had popped off the wall when I woke up the next morning. (My bet is that my bathroom got chilly overnight and messed with the plastic a bit.)
Wrinkles Schminkles Wrinkle Relieving Silicone Pad - Retail Value $30.00
I wish this pad had worked for me! Not that I have wrinkles that I'm particularly worried about, but I would've been interested to see if this seriously simple product actually relieved some of the little lines that are creeping up in my chest area. I'm not going to blame the silicone sheet, though—it's more the fact that they encourage you to wear it while you sleep, and in all of the tossing and turning I do at night, it flopped right off. There is a sticky-ish side that's supposed to hold it in place, but I think I'm just too mobile at night for it! I do think it's a clever take on wrinkle reduction. Rather than worry about topical serums, this pad seems to work by just holding your skin flat. (At least, I don't think there's anything additional soaking in here.) In that way, it's preventative, so that you don't have to worry as much about wrinkles deepening. Super interesting! It is reusable, so maybe I'll have to just take some time to lay down flat on the floor and zone out while this works its magic!
Verdict: This was a fun box! I appreciated that the products focused on both nourishing your body in the cold winter weather and preparing it for a happier, healthier 2018. I also liked that each of these products had a bit of longevity to them—a 14-day tea detox, a reusable wrinkle pad, a reusable razor, a book to read, etc. I think that's important in a seasonal box since you don't want to just try each single-use snack or product and be left wanting more!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but order today to get next month’s box that ships January 15th!
Value Breakdown: Though I couldn't find a price for an individual Rise bar, the rest of the items altogether had $143.08 worth of retail value. That's more than twice the price of the box, and definitely worth it, so long as your shipping costs stay low!
