Bespoke Post "Doze" November 2017 Review

The Doze box dresses your bed with a set of sheets from Thread Experiment.

Each delivery arrives with an information card about the products. Since this box only contains one thing (a sheet set) they kept it short with notes on the quality of the sheets and care instructions.

Thread Experiment Sheet Set in Queen, White

The Sheets arrived in Thread Experiment branding packaging. The sheets were neatly packed inside a drawstring bag made from the same fabric as the sheets. This sheet set is made from 100% cotton matte sateen. As usual with a queen set, the set included 2 standard pillowcases, a fitted sheet, and a flat sheet.

Here's a closer look at details of the pillowcases. The stitching is neat and tidy with a nice thick hem for a crisp presentation at the end of the pillow. I always prefer an open closure to bed pillows vs. an envelope closer so these tick that box. I steamed these sheets out of the box and the wrinkles fell out nicely. I did, of course, wash them (on cold as recommended) before sleeping on them.

The fitted sheet had a very thin elastic band, I like to see a more substantial band on my sheets and this looked a bit flimsy to me. For those with deep mattresses, this fitted sheet is meant to fit mattresses up to 15" deep. I have been spoiled by my Target sheets that have little tags that tell me where the top/bottom and side is so it took me a bit longer than usual to get this on my mattress!

Here is the hem of the flat sheet. These sheets are very simple in their design with no frills and decent craftsmanship. They washed well but weren't as soft as the sheets I am used to. They also seemed too thin, especially for the cold winter. As soon as my husband crawled into bed he did not like the feel of these sheets and asked where our nice sheets had gone :x. We gave them a week of use and were pleased to switch back to our trusty old Target sheets.

Verdict: These sheets were a miss for both myself and my husband. I am used to paying around $50 for sheets from Target so the $45 member price seemed reasonable, especially once I learned I was getting sheets that sell for over $100! I was very surprised when I looked up the retail price for this sheet set as the details and overall quality was not worth that price tag for me. I think this would have been a better set to send in a spring or summer box rather than a November box due to how lightweight they were.

To Wrap Up:

Idk if anyone will see this now but I love my flannel cuddlduds from Kohls. So fluffy & warm in winter. And they hold up. On sale, Qs are about 30 bucks.

I love my cuddldud flannel sheets, they’re one of the best things ever when you like to sleep cold but big temperature swings mean keeping the room colder than you’d love. I’ve learned that a lot of people hate the texture of them though so I mix and match heavy flannel and heavy smooth cotton.

I learned pretty quickly that price tag on sheets means very little. 🙁

Yes! That’s exactly what I thought about these sheets, then convinced myself that I must not know what quality sheets feel like. Bespoke post’s customer service was top notch though.

Is there a specific sheet set that you usually buy from Target? I need new sheets and if they are that spectacular then I need to buy some ASAP!

The Nate Berkus sheets are my absolute favorite! I find them super soft and silky.

(The Nate Berkus ones at Target, I mean. Emily likes them too apparently!)

Hi Nicole! I buy the “Performance Sheet Set Patterns 400 Thread Count – Threshold™” from Target, usually in patterns (they have some cute ones!) but they also have solids. They wash well, are nice and soft, not super wrinkly out of the dryer, and you can bleach them. I also have a set of their Nate Berkus sheets and they are lovely too!

Hope that helps!

I never saw this box as an option in my account. Would have loved to get this for my dad 🙁

I’m curious. She didn’t think they were that great. What makes you want this box?

I prefer sheets that are lower thread count (as close to 100 as I can find without being scratchy). I prefer lightweight sheets as my husband gets very very hot at night and can’t sleep on thick sheets. Hence, why I think this would have been a cool gift for him or my dad (who is the same way, gets really hot at night if he sleeps on thick sheets, even in winter).

Jennifer

Nothing beats Target sheets.
