The Birchbox Limited Edition: A Toast to the Host Box is one of the latest Limited Edition boxes from Birchbox! (This is available to everyone - not just Birchbox subscribers.)

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Box: Birchbox Limited Edition: A Toast to the Host Box

The Cost: $62 ($180 Value)

And don’t forget to add your free mystery sample pack!

The Products:

Each box comes with a sheet of paper detailing all the items included:

And this box also comes with a blank card so you can gift it:

And a cocktail recipe for Frose (frozen rose):

Now, on to the items!

W&P Design Large 16 oz. Pineapple Tumbler – Value $99

I have a few pineapple drink items from W&P Design, and I was excited to add this to my collection, but it doesn't seem as useful as the other pieces.

For one thing, the top is heavier than the base, which is fine on the other glasses, but since this is designed to be used with the included straw and the top on, it's a little top-heavy.

And if you notice the inside metal of the top and the base - they are different. This results in the outside metals looking slightly different. (Not a big deal to me, but if I was paying the full retail price of $99 for this tumbler, I would be disappointed.)

P. F. Candle Co. No. 29: PIÑON – Value $18

(7.2 oz, with a burn time of 40-50 hours.)

This is one of my favorite items in the box! The scent is perfect for winter. It's a blend of pine, balsam fir, cinnamon, amber, vanilla, and cedarwood. The candle is made with 100% soy wax and phthalate-free fragrance, too.

Sugarfina Champagne Bears - Value $8.50

I love gummies, and these Sugarfina ones are amazing! And they are made with Dom Pérignon Vintage Champagne so you can feel super classy about eating an entire little box of gummies in under 5 minutes, right?

The set includes a mix of Brut and Rose gummy bears!

(Also, if you love Sugarfina as much as I do - just FYI - they now have a Sanrio collection!)

Davines OI Hand Balm – FULL SIZE! Value $20

I previously have only sampled Davines hair care products, and this hand cream lives up to the quality of the rest of the brand! It's moisturizing but not greasy and left my hands feeling super soft. I'm having a hard time describing the scent, but if you like the scent of their hair products, I think you'll like this, too!

Oribe Balmessence Lip Treatment – FULL SIZE! Value $35

I was expecting a super luxe lip balm from Oribe, and they delivered! This lip treatment is super moisturizing and it doesn't have much of a sheen, so it's great for everyday wear.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $180.50. I think that's good for the $62 cost, and even better if you use coupon code TAKE15 and get it for $52.70. Despite my issues with the tumbler, I think this would be a great box for a gift - it's a nice mix of home and beauty items, and the beauty items are non-makeup, so they should work for almost everyone.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box today? Yep. This one-time purchase box is still available as of 11/11!

Coupon –use coupon code TAKE15 to save 15%!

Value Breakdown: At $62 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Large Pineapple Tumbler: $34
  • Candle: $6.18
  • Sugarfina Gummy Bears: $2.91
  • Davines Hand Balm: $6.87
  • Oribe Lip Treatment: $12.02

This is currently 50% off with code SAVEHALF through 12/31! Just bought it and a cheaper kit and achieved ACE status for the first time.

Liz, are you sure the candle is the 7.2 oz one? The last PF Candle .birchbox sent out was only 3.5 oz…

Just double checked the label on the bottom of the candle – it says 7.2 oz!

The lip balm value is ridiculous as well. It’s basically Carmex that smells better.

What sort of occasion requires a pineapple tumbler? I am assuming a pool and a popsugar inflatable swan are involved.

Awe, love someone who knows nostalgic Tv like I do.

99.00 for a pineapple shaped cup? That is one of the most laughable retail values yet. Even more ridiculous than Fabfitfun claiming the Doucce eyeshadow palette is worth 70.00. This box is worth maybe 25.00 at most.

Marija

I saw pineapple cup at TJMaxx for less than $20.

I was just going to say this too. I almost bought on multiple occasions but my BF and voice of reason helped me realize I don’t really need it. If it were cheaper than TJ Maxx prices then sure! Lol

Marina

Yes, it is pretty ridiculous! The eye shadow in particular though!
Honestly, I love the pineapple thing but wouldn’t get this box unless it was closer to 30 or less!

Correction…I find the “lip treatment” the most ridiculous I mean it’s ONLY lip balm! Smh, it’s like call it treatment + a fancy looking container and you can up charge 25-30 bucks more!

Ll

So going to get this at the next aces sale.
