PS by JustFab Clothing Box Review – September 2017
JustFab has had a monthly VIP club for years now, and I love their styles. So I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try out their brand new styling service, PS by JustFab (PS stands for Personal Stylist)!
It works like many other styling services, such as Stitch Fix, Trunk Club, and Dia & Co. You pay a styling fee and receive five pieces selected for you by your stylist. You only keep what you like and return the rest with free shipping both ways. The styling fee is deducted from any purchases you make, and if you keep everything you get 20% off the total!
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The Box: PS by JustFab
The Cost: $20 styling fee, deducted from the cost of items you keep
The Products: Five clothing items selected for you by a stylist
Ships to: U.S. for free (both ways!)
Good to know: This is not an automatic monthly subscription. You can order a box whenever you want!
Keep Track of Your Subscriptions: Add this box to your subscription list or wishlist!
When I signed up, I took a lengthy quiz to let my stylist know my size and style preferences. A few days later, I received this email alerting me that my stylist had chosen some items for me. I could just click the link and preview my package.
There are some styling services that allow you to preview your package and reject items you don’t like before they are sent to you, but this was a first. With PS by JustFab, I could keep the choices my stylist made for me, or if I didn’t like something, I could swap it with an item on my JustFab wishlist! And of course, since I am a JustFab VIP, I had tons of items on my wishlist!
This is the invoice that was sent with my package, showing the cost to keep each item. My $20 styling fee is applied to anything I keep, but if I keep everything, I get a 20% discount. That would be a total of $82.15!
Shift Dress – Cost to Keep $22.95
I absolutely love the color of this dress! Which makes it all the more disappointing that it doesn’t look very good on me. The cut just isn’t right. Plus, it wrinkles very easily. That’s a big issue with me.
Fearless Tee – Cost to Keep $18.95
This tee is so cute! I don’t know if it’s a totally accurate statement, but I love it anyway! It’s nice and lightweight and just feels easy and great.
Baby Boot Jeans – Cost to Keep $24.95
Someday I will find a pair of bootcut jeans that fit right, but I’m afraid these are not them. My legs are just a bit short, so even with the potential of hemming these, the flare doesn’t start at the right spot. They have a nice wash and are cute otherwise, though.
Belted Cargo Vest – Cost to Keep $39.95
I really like the idea of a vest, and this one is great! In practice, though, I don’t usually end up wearing them. I’m torn about this poly blend vest because it feels really stylish! I don’t have anything like it.
Embroidered Bomber Jacket – Cost to Keep $44.95
Wow. I never thought I would love a bomber jacket, but here we are! This is just beautiful! It fits well, too. The embroidery is nicely done and well placed.
Tie Bow Bouse – Cost to Keep $29.95
I love this top! I love the star print so much! I think it looks good on me, too. This polyester top is a little different than what I would usually wear, but I will totally find an occasion to wear it.
Cross Back Knit Top – Cost to Keep $26.95
I really like the back of this top, but I don’t think it looks very good on me in the front. It’s not a great length. It’s very comfortable, though.
Cold Shoulder Pullover – Cost to Keep $39.95
I really like the color of this top, but it doesn’t fit me well or look particularly good on me. I also don’t think cold shoulder is a great look for thick acrylic sweaters.
The Verdict: I am really enjoying my subscription to PS by JustFab! My favorites this month are the star blouse, the bomber jacket, and the tee, they are all wonderful! A few months ago, several readers commented that sales and discounts from JustFab do not apply to items in this service. That is true and could be a very valid reason to not try this service if that is a motivating factor for shopping at JustFab. They have great sales! Frequently! For me, personally, I like the fact that I can try a variety of styles I have been eyeing lately. If I keep everything, the 20% off is generous. But if not, I can always earmark an item I might like to purchase later when it’s on sale. Everyone has their own shopping strategies, and this one totally works for me!
