Each box comes with a card detailing the brands and products included. They also include a 20% off code to use towards purchasing products from the included brands.

Now, onto the items!

LoveLula October 2017 - Bodywash

Greenfrog Botanic Soapberry Bodywash Geranium & Peppermint, 100ml – Retail Value $5.15 USD (£3.90)

This body wash is formulated to be gentle on dry and sensitive skin. The aloe vera leaves my skin feeling calm and moisturized while the peppermint oil leaves a slight cooling sensation. It smells minty too. It feels like a thin gel when applied to wet skin and doesn’t foam. The size they included is perfect for throwing in a travel or gym bag.

LoveLula October 2017 - Eyeshadow Box

LoveLula October 2017 - Swatch

PHB Eye Shadow Almond, 3g – Retail Value $13.13 USD (£9.95)

This eyeshadow is a light shimmery cream shade that is perfect as a base shade and really brightens up my eyes. The shadow is soft and powdery with good pigment. Plus, it is 100% natural and water-resistant. I like the compact because it is small and is magnetized to keep it from opening in my bag (but is still easy to open).

LoveLula October 2017 - Brush Box

LoveLula October 2017 - Brush Detail

PHB Eye Shadow Brush – Retail Value $10.49 USD (£7.95)

I like that they have included a complimentary eyeshadow brush with the eyeshadow this month. This angled eyeshadow brush is made from soft synthetic bristles. The shape makes it perfect for applying and blending color all over the lid.

LoveLula October 2017 - Face Oil

Ooh! Oil of Heaven Tamanu Oil, 15ml – Estimated Value $12.54 USD ( £9.50)

If you are a lover of facial oils, Ooh! makes lots of different types that are great for varying skin concerns. This tamanu oil is a dark green color and has a very rich, nutty scent when applied. It took me a couple of times to get used to the stronger smell, but my skin loves it. It sinks in fast and leaves a nice smooth surface for me to apply my makeup too. I think this line of facial oils may be my favorite discovery in this box so far!

LoveLula October 2017 - Face Spray

Balm Balm Frankincense Hydrosol, 30ml. – Value $11.22 USD (£8.50)

A hydrosol is a liquid that comes from distilling a base ingredient, in this case, frankincense essential oil. I think it is supposed to work like a toner spray because it says it refines skin texture. I can’t get past the super-medicinal smell. I’m sure, like any other essential oil, it is a matter of individual preference but this one isn’t for me.

Verdict: My LoveLula Beauty Box this month was mostly a hit. Facial oils are always good for me and I like trying a new makeup line that is so health conscious. But, the frankincense spray is a no-go for me. I like the fact that I know every product from LoveLula is safe for my skin. This box has a value of $52.53 (£39.80) and free shipping. I paid about $23.22 for this box, so that is just over double the cost. Though being outside of the UK makes this box a little more costly, I think you are paying for a curation of products that are rigorously vetted for their effectiveness, sustainability, quality, and policies against animal testing.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first box will be November.

Value Breakdown: At $23.22 USD for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Greenfrog Botanic Soapberry Bodywash: $2.28
  • PHB Eye Shadow: $5.80
  • PHB Eye Shadow Brush: $4.64
  • Ooh! Oil of Heaven Tamanu Oil: $5.54
  • Balm Balm Frankincense Hydrosol: $4.96

  1. Compared to other natural subscriptions $23 is a good price point and it is nice to see what natural products the UK has. Overseas shipping is expensive, so including it is great. I do struggle with the 3 month subscriptions though, I never have the cash upfront to get them!

  2. Lover this sub! I think my fav is Frankinsence Hydrosol! I am so happy that MSA is reviewing this sub!

  3. Hmmm.. it’s like this company has never heard of Boxycharm and Beautyfix. Natural? Sadly no thanks at this price point.

    • I don’t believe either Boxycharm or Beautyfix claim to be cruelty-free. This box is for the natural/cruelty-free crowd. Vegan Cuts or Petit Vour would be better comparisons.

      • Good to know, thanks. Also, it was my bad, I confused this box with another that has a similar name. 🙂
