A card is included detailing your earring style preferences. Choose 2 among the following categories: total trendsetter, simple & sleek, classic beauty, funky & fun, and itty bitty. I chose to go with trendy, unique pieces (Total Trendsetter) and small studs (Itty Bitty)!

October Total Trendsetter – Estimated Value $9.00 (based on Hang Squad similar styles)

I love that this bold style is a little bit glam. The sequins are configured in a way that they definitely pack a punch without being too glitzy (not my style). In fact, you have to look at the design pretty closely to even notice that each floret is comprised of clusters of individual sequins. Pretty cool! Because they’re not made from a heavy metal, they’re also light and comfortable to wear – especially for such a large style.

These hung down pretty low on my ears and have lots of movement! I paired them with a colorful dress at a wedding last weekend and received several compliments. Really loving this new large earring trend!

October Itty Bitty – Estimated Value $6.00 (based on similar styles from Hang Squad)

These have quickly become my new everyday earrings! Both are tiny silver triangles, but one set has a small hole in each. While I don’t have multiple piercings in each ear, these would be awesome for those that do for a stacked look.

These are super delicate and easy to forget that you’re wearing. I even leave them in overnight, and they haven’t bothered my ears at all. It’s also really nice that you receive two options with this set. Although their differences are subtle, it’s nice to have an extra pair to switch things up.

I couldn’t actually find either of the styles received this month in the HangSquad subscribers shop, so I assume that they’ve sold out. However, I’ve noticed that their Lookbook portion of the website isn’t up to date, so it could also be that these haven’t been added for individual purchase.

The shop works this way: Once each month’s box is shipped, the styles for that month go on sale in HangSquad‘s shop (until they’ve sold through, that is). Subscribers are able to make purchases from the shop, and the discounted cost of each pair of earrings is one of the perks of membership to HangSquad. You may also add extra pairs of earrings onto your monthly shipment for $6/pair.

Verdict: This was my second box from HangSquad, and I’m pretty pleased with this subscription so much. Both of the pairs (or three sets, if you want to look at it that way!) that I received are stylish, and they are inexpensive enough to not worry too much about misplacing. I did find the quality of these earrings to be nicer than those I received last month as well.

Price-wise, both pairs sell for about $15.00 together in the HangSquad shop. That said, I wouldn’t say that this subscription is a tremendous value. The $22.00 cost of the box comes with the option to buy more pieces at a discounted, membership price. Considering the wide range of styles available to subscribers for only $6, this is a worthwhile subscription if you wear earrings frequently. If switching up your earring selection on a monthly basis isn’t super important to you, I’d skip it.

What do you think of HangSquad? Which earrings did you get?

  1. I kind of wish it was 3 pairs, 3 styles per month, even if it cost a little more. I would definitely like trendsetter, and I’m torn between classic and sleek. Looking over the styles on their site, I like both almost equally.

    • Hey Bonnie!

You can add on an extra pair anytime from the shop and they ship it in your next box. It’s $22/month then add-ons are around $6-8… so less than $30 for three pairs. If you don’t have a subscription, the earrings cost $14-18 dollars each (with shipping). I love it and think it’s a great deal!

  2. Great honest review — I like the first pair 🙂
