A fold-out informational pamphlet comes with each box, and it lists product names, values, and ingredients as well as details on how to use each item.  A "daily affirmations" activity is the monthly "happiness booster": a monthly self-improvement challenge that shapes the theme and contents of the box. August's theme is "Affirmations," and Therabox encourges subscribers to repeat positive, specific statements each day in order to overcome negative thought patterns.

GCG Studios Custom Affirmation Decal - Listed Value $5.99

This custom mirror decal can be stuck to a visible area (bathroom mirror seems like a great spot) as a reminder to repeat your daily affirmations. It's reusable, so you can you stick it elsewhere once it's been applied to a surface. Love the sentiment here, though I don't think I'm ready to commit myself to a decal on my house's only bathroom mirror. I'll likely opt for my bedroom mirror instead. 🙂

Your Tea-Tea Face Healing Hydration Scrub, 9.46 oz. - Listed Value $25.00

Okay, first off, let's talk about this adorable packaging. I love the substantial pink and white box that this scrub comes in along with its design! But about the product itself: if you love tea, the smell of this scrub is divine. Its consistency is a bit strangely spongey, and you have to dig into the jar and mix it around a bit. Once applied, it definitely looks 100% like dirt on the skin. The tea leaf pieces did a nice job of very gently exfoliating my face. I tend to get a lot of dry patches, so I do prefer a stronger exfoliator, but this is great for every day. The tea bits also got all over my sink as I washed the scrub off. That was sort of annoying to clean up, and I was a little worried about whether they'd clog my drain. Maybe this would be better suited for use in the shower and with a drain protector.

CM Armstrong Bath Bombs - Listed Value $5.00

Yesss! I love bath bombs! These two are lavender and lemongrass varieties, and they smell lovely. I tried the lavender bomb first, and the oils in it left my skin feeling soft and nourished. I was also impressed to see the price. $5.00 for 2 bath bombs is pretty reasonable, so, given my newfound love of baths, I may be placing an order with this Etsy seller sometime soon.

Katie Leigh Designs Diffuser Bracelet - Listed Value $12.00

I had never heard of a diffuser bracelet prior to receiving this box. The concept is pretty smart! Simply apply a few drops of your favorite essential oil on the wooden beads to keep the scent with you all day long. I used the stress blend essential oil included in this box (spoiler!), and it worked quite well! Even though the beads-on-a-stretchy-band bracelet style isn't my favorite, I actually really like the natural wood finish of these beads.

Sweet Olie Stress Blend Essential Oil - Listed Value $18.00

I could smell this oil blend from the moment I opened my Therabox! Its mixture of ylang ylang, geranium, and marjoram essential oils is light, floral, and sweet. I do tend to prefer more herbal or musky scents for my essential oils, but I'm excited to see if this clean scent will aid in my stress relief over time.

Sincerely Different Tension Balm, 0.5 oz - Value $10.00

Tension balm: another product I hadn't heard of before this Therabox came along. I rubbed it on my temples and wrists, as directions suggest, and honestly wasn't expecting much. After a couple minutes of allowing the balm to set it, I noticed a definite tingle in the areas which it was applied. Its minty, citrus. herbal scent was surprisingly relaxing on its own, too. I could see this doing a lot for someone that suffers from headaches.

ZirYabs Red Tea Face Cream, 2 oz. - Value $12.75

This vitamin rich lotion has a unique, mousse-like texture. A primary ingredient is African Red Tea, also called Rooibos. The antioxidant properties in this tea are said to decrease inflammation and may work to protect cells from oxidation, a process that shortens the life of our cells. I found the lotion to absorb into my skin really well. My only gripe was the smell, but I can totally get past that given the wonderful repairing qualities of this lotion's natural ingredients.

Verdict: This was my first Therabox, and it was awesome. There was definitely a strong self-care/relaxation theme this month, and I was happy to see that. It's easy to get caught up in the stresses of day-to-day life and routine. Therabox makes it easy to escape and pamper yourself.

As for the value, this box is worth about $88.74. It's a pretty good deal for the $34.95 cost (plus $4.99 shipping), I must say.

I also really loved that this box featured exclusively Etsy sellers and other small business owners who created their own small-batch products. Supporting small businesses who feature natural ingredients is a total win-win. This box would make an excellent gift for a loved one that needs a bit of de-stressing, but it's also a nice way to give yourself a bit of extra care each month.
