Bulu Box Weight Loss September 2017

Bulu Box has changed their information cards again, as well as the boxes. You’ll usually get quite a few coupons, bits of product literature, and other paper inclusions in this box.

Bulu Box Weight Loss September 2017

Aubio Cold Sore Treatment Gel (0.11 oz) – Value $18.59

I also don’t have cold sores right now, but I do like to keep treatments for such things around as the weather gets colder and my immune system gets run down from fighting off colds and flu. This is definitely enough to try and see if it works, too. (And no, this price is not unusual for a cold sore treatment gel.)

Aubio Hydrating Lip Therapy Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (0.15 oz) – Value $8.38

I am going to pass this one along to my husband. I love the *idea* of lip balm with SPF, but this has four separate chemical sunscreens in it and I know from past experience that my lips will start peeling badly and get irritated if I put chemical sunscreens on them. I have to stick to zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.

Natralia Happy Little Bodies Eczema Relief Cream (2 oz) – Value $14.99

I don’t have kids, or eczema, but this is colloidal oatmeal lotion and I have found that to work pretty nicely on other itchy skin issues when I don’t want to use cortisone cream. So I’m hanging on to this for future use.

Lovebug Probiotics “Here’s the Skinny” (30 tablets) – Value $26.99

These are in tablet form, which is supposed to be more effective than capsules for some reason (it sounds like they have a time-release formula that is supposed to survive stomach acid). These are vegetarian, which is great. I started taking them last night with dinner but I think it is far too soon to see results. I’m hoping I will notice something by the time I finish the bottle. I am having surgery next month and I have read some anecdotal evidence that probiotics can help with GI issues that may occur after this particular surgery, so a good probiotic would be really useful!

Aminovital Action Amino Acids + Electrolytes (lemon, 1 serving) – Value $1.43 (buy 14 packages for $19.99)

Now, this is just the kind of sports-related supplement I like to see! I always add some amino acid powder to my water when I work out (I pretty much never drink plain water) and this product is caffeine-free, which is so important because I exercise after work and I don’t want to be awake all night. I strongly recommend using this at half strength or less until you decide what level of flavor you want, though. I’m not sure lemon is my thing, after trying this, but I’d be interested in seeing other flavors.

Alias Pistachio Flavor Mix (1 serving) – Value $1.25

This item is meant to be added to protein powder as a flavor enhancement. I can’t bring myself to consume protein shakes with just liquid + protein powder, so I actually threw this in my smoothie this morning. I like pistachio-flavored ice cream so I figured, why not? I do think this worked in my overall blend and was especially nice with some cacao I already had in there.

Slice of Life Organics Adult Gummy Vitamins Complete Multi (2 gummies) – Value $0.80 (buy 60 gummies for $23.99)

At first I was like, “oh no, not gummies” until I saw these were thickened with pectin instead of gelatin, at which point I ate them immediately. I don’t think I would regularly take gummy vitamins as they do have calories, but these tasted pretty good (and not like vitamins at all).

Bulu Box Weight Loss September 2017

Yummi Bears Organics Vitamin C (2 gummies) – Value $0.47 (buy 60 gummies for $13.99)

These, like the multivitamins, are gelatin-free. They are a bit more candy-like, with a sugar coating on the outside of the gummies. I would consider keeping something like this on hand for cold and flu season when I want extra vitamin C, though I probably wouldn’t take them every day.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $73 for the September Bulu Box Weight Loss. That is amazing, and is actually more than I pay for a whole year of this subscription (I got in on a previous “$5 for life” deals). Most of the items are useful to me now or will be in the near future and this pretty much makes up for some past months with much lower values. I do have to admit, however, that I can’t really see how this has much, if anything, to do with weight loss.

I’d strongly recommend using our MYSUB599 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular or the weight loss box, but not both, since there is a lot of product repetition between the two. Also, don’t forget to review your items for points to spend on merchandise in the Bulu Box shop, although lately they seem to be directing you to Amazon to purchase items rather than offering a lot of the monthly products themselves.

Is anyone else having issues with this box? I got an email that my sub had been cancelled? I tried to log in to my account and it said it didn’t recognize my email. That makes no sense since they emailed me about the cancellation. So frustrating. I feel like they are kicking me out so I don’t continue to receive the boxes for $5….as promised a while back.

Did you get the emails about creating a new account? They’ve changed something with their system and you have to make a new login. (I don’t know what, I haven’t created the new account yet. But I still get the $5 boxes and mine have shipped for October.)

I had a minor issue with mine. I created a new account. I didn’t realize I also had to update my payment information. Once I did that, I then realized the new site had me down for the Original box while I have been getting the weight loss box. Once I switched my subscription over to the weightloss, it showed that it will charge me their current pricing. I emailed for help and have not heard back yet.

What a messy way to switch a site over and update subscribers on their point system! I imagine they will lose a lot of customers due to this switch. Even though the box was a random mix of samples (honestly, Pinchme does just as good), it was cheap enough to continue. No way would I pay $10 for a “weight loss” box that sends me eczema cream, prenatal vitamins, and cold sore treatments in a single month. Even if the monetary value is there, the curation is so wild that I don’t need/use half those items.

Yolanda

I understand these are some nice items, but what do they have to do with weight loss? #Confused

It is not always clear to me, either.

I got the regular box and got almost the exact same products. Only differences were instead of the probiotic and the pistachio flavor mix, I got a small sample of a sleep aid and a single serving smoothie bowl. I’m wondering if they’re giving much thought to the curation between weight loss and regular boxes anymore. Not that I mind terribly, I agree with a lot of people that the products this month were very useful! Just seems like there’s not much variation. I certainly wouldn’t be happy if I had a subscription to both boxes.

How do you get in on the $5 boxes?!?! Is there a code?

They increased to $5.99. It’s only if you subscribed awhile back and locked in the price.

It was a promo they were running for awhile. I haven’t seen it in a few months.

On the other hand, I hate their new rewards system! Most of the products I want are now purchase through partner. Boo!

I loved their old system where the products you tried that month had options to buy or use credit with free shipping. I have so many free items from them; but not since they switched the system.

I think they have decided they’ll make more money through Amazon affiliate links (which is the “partner” about 95% of the time).

I was really pleased with this box after last month was very disappointing for me. These are the kind of boxes that keep me subscribed to them for like 2 years!! I also am locked in the $5/life plan! 😉
