There's also a coupon for Beanitos. Speaking of which...
Beanitos Black Bean Chips, 1.2 oz. - Value $0.86 (Buy a 24 pack for $20.72 on Amazon)
These chips look like blue corn chips and really don't taste all that much like beans at all. They're really solid chips with a great snappy crunch. And there's a healthy pinch of salt on each chip, which definitely helped satisfy my afternoon snack craving. These are the kind of snack I'd love to keep in stock in my pantry.
Brothers All Natural Freeze-Dried Fruit Crisps, 0.35 oz. - Value $1.17 (Buy a 24 pack for $27.99 on Amazon)
Apples are my favorite fruit, but I've just started discovering the magic of freeze-dried apples. Unlike regular dried apples, freeze-dried apples have a light, crispy, almost styrofoam-ish texture that reminds me of super light puffed rice snacks. These crisps are apples and nothing but apples, so there's no worry about creepy ingredients or additives. These snacks are perfect for summer—they're just effortless, easy snacks that would work great on a road trip or other on-the-go activity.
Phive Bar in Peanut, 2.12 oz. - Value $2.78 (Buy a pack of 12 for $33.38 on Amazon)
This bar is so tasty! It's made with nutrient dense fruits and nuts that are organic and non-GMO, and it's incredibly rich with flavor. I actually thought this peanut snack had chocolate chips scattered throughout, but I think that's actually just the delectable, deeply sweet flavor of dried figs or dates!
Sun Rype Fruit to Go Fruit Strip in Apple Strawberry, 0.5 oz. - Value $0.35 (Buy a pack of 55 for $19.25 on Amazon)
I'm not big on fruit snacks, strips, or leathers, but I can definitely appreciate how this strawberry-sweet strip would delight someone craving a bit of fruity candy or junkier food. The strip is flat and only about 4 inches long, so it's a pretty quick bite. But the fact that it's gluten and nut free, vegan, and made from simple fruit ingredients is definitely a win.
XyliChew Spearmint Gum, 10 pieces - Value $2.25 (Buy a multi-pack of 144 pieces for $32.49 on Amazon)
Gum is also not my thing, but I'll be happy to pass this pack along to a friend who is. These minty tabs of gum are GMO-free and made in the U.S.A. with natural ingredients like birch xylitol as a sweetener.
Tree Hugger Pineapple Lollipop - Value $0.38 (Buy a 48 count box for $18.34 on Amazon)
The pineapple flavor of this soy-free, dairy-free, wheat-free, gluten-free, nut-free, corn-syrup-free candy is awesome. It doesn't have a hint of fake or chemical pineapple flavor in it. The bubblegum center, of course, isn't my thing, but now I'm curious what other candies I might be able to get from this company...
Dream Water in Snoozeberry, 2.5 fl oz. - Value $4.50 (Buy a pack of 6 for $26.99 on Amazon)
The final item in the box is sort of a medicinal product. Dream Water has natural supplements, including melatonin, which should help guide you to a restful sleep. Think of it as the opposite of a 5 Hour Energy, in that it's made with a natural blend of ingredients and is aimed at relaxing you rather than keeping you up and alert. The flavor is kind of a generic berry taste, but it's not bad.
Verdict: This is my first UrthBox, and I was pretty impressed! There was a wide variety of natural, vegan snacks (and drinks!) to satisfy a lot of different tastes and cravings. Most importantly, everything tasted great! I estimated the value to be around $12.00, which is disappointing given the near $20.00 cost of the box. I hope future boxes have at least one or two more snacks, or potentially something a little larger, to make the box a bit more cost-effective.
