Boa Creature Socks
Oh, Sock Panda. You are soooo random. I can't tell if this critter is supposed to be a cat or some kind of chihuahua, but the design is definitely kooky. This bespectacled, boa-wearing animal reminds me of fashion icon Iris Apfel, weirdly, hehe! I'm not sure if there's a pun or a joke tucked into this design, or if it's just a playful image. The socks themselves are really comfortable and breathable. They're made with 85% Peruvian cotton, 10% nylon, and 5% Spandex, so they're equal parts snuggly and soft.
Cat Pattern Socks
Now, these socks are random in a good way! These neutral gray socks have a finely-drawn pattern of goofy cartoon cats—some smiling, some upside down, some wearing eye-patches... The pattern is weird but not too in-your-face so that it can be more of a fun accent piece rather than a bold statement. I love the drawing style and the color scheme. (I love me some grayscale.)
Verdict: This month's Sock Panda socks were definitely quirky—maybe too quirky in some ways. This subscription really pushes the envelope of fun socks, so just be ready if you sign up for the more adventurous patterns! Value-wise, these run $9.50/pair if you go with the 2-pack. I'm not sure I'd pay that much for the purple pair in the store, but if I was ignoring the designs and just going by quality, I think the price is fair. These are weird socks, but they are awfully cozy!
