In addition to their bi-monthly subscription box, Luxor box also does Limited Edition boxes. This review is for their Special Edition Luxor Black Box. (No longer available).

The packaging on this box is fantastic. It’s definitely a box you will want to keep and reuse for gifting or storage.

And every item came in its own packaging, so you could definitely break this box down into lots of gifts.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FYI this box is no longer available for sale, but here are the box details:

The Box: Limited Edition Luxor BLACK Box

The Cost: $685 to the US, $735 to Canada

The Products: Our 2017 Luxor BLACK Limited Edition box will have a retail value of OVER $2100.  Each Luxor BLACK 2017 Limited Edition Box will include the $990 EddieBorgo PEPPER MINI POCHETTE JET.  Made in Italy the Eddie Borgo Pepper Mini Pochette Bag features a jet black calf leather body with chrome-plated metal shoulder strap and base studs.

The box comes with individual cards for each item included. First up:

Eddie Borgo Pepper Mini Pochette Jet – Value $990

This bag is stunning! (And I love that it stands on its own.) The chain isn’t removable, but you can easily tuck it into the bag if you want to use it as a clutch.

There is an inner clasp that matches the chrome-plated metal hardware throughout.

And the chain features a leather accent shoulder strap.

The purse is made in Italy with jet black calf leather.

Even the base is beautiful:

And it comes complete with a fancy dust bag for storage:

Here it is on to give you a better sense of scale:

I absolutely love the lines of this piece – and it’s large enough to carry all my essentials, too.

Evocateur Jewelry Set – Value $526

Evocateur 22K Gold Leaf Bermuda Cuff  – $348 Value

This is a sized item, and you could pick from sizes small, medium or large when you signed up for the box.

The piece is hand made in the USA and features 22K gold leaf.

The width is about 2 inches, but it isn’t as clunky/heavy as I was expecting. Here it is on:

And it comes with matching earrings:

Evocateur Bermuda Teardrop Earrings – Value $178

These earrings measure approximately 2 inches long.

They are made with the same 22k gold leaf as the bangle and feature 14K gold plated ear wires.

Halcyon Days Animal Print Trinket Tray – Value $350

Halcyon Days is a beloved brand for most Luxor Box subscribers, so I wasn’t surprised to see this in the box!

It’s crafted of fine bone china, with hand-gilded gold accents.

It measures approximately 7.75″W x 6.25″D x 1.25″T.

And here it is on my coffee table to give you a better sense of scale:

(Halcyon Days Candle from the Best of the Best Luxor Box, Vase from this box, and dog from pure cuteness.)

Viterra Glass FIRE Coppery Red Seeds Vase – Value $60

This is described as “coppery” but it reads like a classic red to me.

The vase is made of hand blown glass with a twisted top.

There are bubbles throughout, which catch the light beautifully, and the organic shape gives it a unique look.

I normally go for neutral colors in home decor, so this is a nice pop of color for my house.

CircCell Skincare Set – Value $223

CircCell Mandarin Cleansing Milk – Value $45

This cleanser is exactly what I’d expect from a luxury cleansing milk – it’s light, gentle, doesn’t dry my skin, and the sweet citrus scent is perfection.

CircCell Dew PH Perfector – Value $60

This lightweight “dew” is almost like a water. It’s a primer/serum hybrid that’s great for using before makeup or other skincare products. It dries almost instantly and gives skin a matte finish, too.

CircCell ABO Eye Serum – Value $118

This is another lightweight, gentle formula. It absorbed almost instantly into my skin, and gave my undereye area a more refreshed, plump look. (No luck with dark circles, though.)

And it’s worth mentioning that all these products are vegan and free of parabens and phthalates!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $2149. Amazing! This box was one of the most expensive limited edition boxes I’ve ever seen, but I appreciate that they spoiled the bag and cuff up front. If you’re a handbag connoisseur, then in a way this box was a great way to get the Eddie Borgo bag at a discount and get everything else for free! I appreciate that they included two home items in this box, and the high-end skin care set is a win, too.

What do you think of the Limited Edition Luxor Black Box?

Every-other-month, we curate a selection of high-end, luxurious spa products, top-shelf beauty products, jewelry, apparel, home accessories and unique treasures from around the world. Only full size products with a value of $250+ per delivery.

Are there really people that spend that much money on a purse??! I am stunned. There are people that can’t afford food, man! I don’t care what a purse is made of, no purse is worth $1000. (P.S. this one is made of baby cows.) That’s just silly. Retail Values are always inflated on these types of boxes, but come on! If you’re buying these boxes, I feel you should take a step back and evaluate your life and your values. Sorry, but I just don’t understand luxe to THAT extreme. Buy a purse from walmart and spend the other $990 on something worthwhile. (I know I know, the box is ONLY $695 LOLOLOLOL!) Sorry if I make somebody mad, but someone has to be the voice of reason here!

LOL! There are plenty of luxury purse brands I would pay that for. This bag is beautiful! I can’t afford anything like that right now, but I would get it if I could. Not everyone is happy with some cheap walmart purse. In my experience, they don’t even have good quality. I switched to designer only a few years ago and I’ll never go back!

The vase is beautiful!

Just received my box today, each item is simply stunning! Items are even more gorgeous in person. So glad I treated myself.

I completely missed this one! Never got a notice. Just saw it! Kicking myself!
Was this in the $500 or $750 range?

I’m sure everything in this box is excellent quality but it’s really not my taste -especially the tray. I love Halcyon Days’ jewelry, but I can’t stand a lot of their housewares (and I especially hate animal prints.) The candle and the dishes Luxor includes in other boxes have been the only exceptions I can recall.

Lovely items! That vase is absolutely gorgeous. I definitely don’t have money to burn on a box like this, but I like the contents; they fit well in a lux box.

I would love the dog from Pure Cuteness 😉 I love the’s beautiful…

That purse is beautiful and calls my name but not for the price.

It’s so tacky!! There’s no way I’d be happy with those items at that price.

Not my taste. I would be so disappointed with this box. The jewellery looks like something the Golden Girls would wear.

LMAO certainly don’t see how you are getting ‘tacky’ on any of these items! Even if they aren’t your particular taste they are far from tacky.

I agree Kristen. These items are far from tacky. The items are lovely.

I don’t think anything in here is tacky. The tray is not my style, but that doesn’t make it tacky. I never spend this much on a mystery box, because I can’t afford to, but if I could, I would buy this one!

sort of like the one with the Brandon Backpack more. Think that one was worth the cost more than this bag. IMHO

Still want to get my hands on one of those backpacks (new)

@LizCadman — Didn’t care for anything in this box (thank goodness I didn’t buy one), but I LOVE the sunglasses you’re wearing in the photo with the bag. Were they from a box? What brand are they? Super flattering on you!

That’s amazing they sent a $680 box for review! Super cute bag, but I never spend above $100 for one.

I def need the doggy in my life! Which swap category can I find him listed under?

I know! Buckles is so adorable. I love seeing him in the reviews! Sending cuddles to buckles. xo

Bust for me, will be putting everything up to swap.

I’ll take the cuff! Ecm5313atgmail!!!!

Seriously? I think it looks great! I can’t wait to get mine!

You bought this $685 box when you didn’t like the spoilers?!?!?

I liked the bag well enough (everything else is bonus, right?), but the bag looks very small in review, and the cuff doesn’t look too great either. But I am going to reserve judgement for the bag and cuff until try the fit in person, for now, everything else except bag and cuff is already on swap board — hate animal prints, picky on my beauty items, vase not my style :(.

I’m sure this is a great box for many, just doesn’t work for me.

The bag is beautiful but that tray and that jewelry is straight tacky as heck!

This is too rich for my blood, but it’s fun to see what’s inside. I feel like people who bought based on the spoilers would get their money’s worth, and everything included is a nice quality (though very taste specific).

I want to love Luxor, but it’s never my taste I guess I just have cheap tastes. I hate the jewelry and the tray doesn’t look like something that expensive. The bag is ok, but small and I would never use it. I just don’t get it, it goes over my head lol.

I feel the same way!

Wow!! Lovely!! I’m hoping to swap for or buy the bag from someone?

I love the bag, and I wanted this box so much, but I had alreadyjust subscribed for a year to Luxor, and bought the best of the best before this was offered 🙁 Next year, maybe? I’m a bag freak and I would seriously kill for that bag, though!

No, I NEED that bag!!! =:O

I’d love to swap for the eye cream!!!

$700 for trinkets. Oh my.

Ahhh…divine! Everything is so beautiful. Must find out about that pure cuteness box. I clicked the link for the “Best of the Best” box and it had a different vibe to me. The scarf from the other box, btw, would look lovely with a white linen dress (since you were talking about suggestions). Very interesting curating between the two boxes, but definitely beautiful and luxurious in every aspect.

I really love that bag. The lines are beautiful, the hardware perfect, and the other Eddie Borgo item I have is incredible quality, but I still couldn’t justify this box. The home items and jewelry would have been a miss and I usually but my handbags on big sales at department stores. Even at cost breakdown the bag is more expensive than my last made-in-America, premium leather, structured handbag.

Wow, I like almost everything except the tray in this box.

I cant afford this kind of sub but Im glad we get to see it here. Thanks Liz!
I like everything but the plate. Just not my style. But love it is being featured with the dog from pure cuteness!! Lol!
