Now, on to the items!

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics – Coffee + Coconut Lip Scrub - Value $19.00

This lip scrub is equal parts coffee + coconut scented - I couldn't be happier with the scent!

The scrub is sugar based, so it's sweet but gentle on your lips, and there was plenty of oil to moisturize in addition to exfoliating. (Lip scrubs are one of those products I never buy, but it's always a treat to get one in a subscription box!)

Trifle Cosmetics – Cream Bar in ‘Cake Island’ - Value $21

Another lovely scented product! (Almost all So Susan products I've sampled smell SO good!)

This is a matte-finish, highly-pigmented lip crayon. It goes on smooth, and it has decent staying power. (Swatched in lower photo.)

Nomad Cosmetics – Cachorros Eyeshadow Value $12

This eyeshadow has impressive pigment, and a nice shimmer finish, too.

This shade of green is definitely outside of my eyeshadow comfort zone, but it is also nice to get some new shades in subscription boxes. (I definitely have enough brown shades!) I did some googling, and I'm liking this look. I might try a subtle version of that!

Here it swatched beneath the lip crayon:

So Susan Cosmetics – Concealer Brush - Value $21.95

I have a few So Susan makeup brushes thanks to the subscription, and I'm impressed with the quality. This one is made with soft and dense synthetic bristles.

And each So Susan Lip Love comes with a new makeup bag:

Limited Edition Makeup Bag - Value $12

Every month includes a makeup bag. In the past, the bags have been canvas, but this year they transitioned to a water/spill proof plastic material. I really liked the canvas bags, but I like this version even more - it's very practical for makeup! (And it is lined inside!)

The saying on this bag isn't for me though - I would have preferred just the background print, no text!

Verdict: This month's So Susan Lip Love bag has a value of about $86! I think that value is fantastic for a $21 ingredient-conscious beauty subscription box. Both the lip and eyeshadow colors are a bit outside my comfort zone this month, but that's part of the reason I love subscription boxes - forcing my hand to try new things/colors!

If you are looking for a vegan, ingredient conscious makeup subscription, I can't recommend this one enough. The value is great, the formulas are great, and the bonus bag is always super cute!

I love my bag. Love the shadow too. It’s stunning. The brush is awesome quality.

This looks like a cute sub. I really like the colors of the lip and shadow. This sub seems to put more effort into their bag’s quality (versus Ipsy’s cheaper quality bags). Unfortunately, they seem to be putting strange sayings on the bags… Why? I generally don’t care one way or the other about bags and don’t place value on them myself, but where they are making them higher quality, you kind of have to. I do use water resistant bags in my luggage because it always seems like shampoos and things go amok when traveling. So let’s hope this bag gets the hint and either puts better sayings on their bags or omits them altogether.

Received mime today and tried the lip crayon first. It is bolder than I usually go for but it looks great and smells heavenly. I want to eat it!

The lip scrub worked really well too. The eye shadow wasn’t too crazy when I tried it with a really light hand.

I am really loving the ingredients and packaging of these products and anticipate bring magnanimous and later in the year saving some for sticking stuffers.

The only con? Before they changed the bags I loved their designs. Now, not so much. I wish I had subbed before when they had bags as cute as the items they send.

I’m with you! I loved the old bags, especially the inspirational quotes on them. Truthfully, their change in bags kept me from subscribing. They switched right when I was getting ready to sub.

I agree. Ipsy has a 30% off So Susan code, so I used it to purchase one of the older bags.

Just received my July Bag and I am 100% satisfied. Great job lip love team! And OMG the packages for these products are to die for. One of my favorite subscription boxes and I have quiet a few of them.

Stuff like this usually doesn’t bother me but I find the quote on the bag to be demeaning. Those 2 statements (actions) are not mutually exclusive.

Same. It’s sexism wrapped in ‘you go girl’. Likely not their intention but still; irritating.

They have the worst customer service. Make sure you know that if you sign up and a package goes missing, THEY WILL NOT REPLACE or care if you do not receive your items! I subbed for a while and they didn’t care. They just cancelled my account!

You must have had the same rep as me. I had a defective bag and they told me the “defects are part of the handmade nature of their products.” Um, no.

Tamara

Luckily for me that I had different experience. They sent wrong bag and shipped me a new one. With time zone difference, it did take awhile to get an answer.

I like the quote on this bag! If I sign up for this, will I be able to get the July bag and items or will August be my first month?

I contacted their customer service (I like the bag… I can see how some might find the text sexist, but I see it as saying you CAN have brains & beauty. Plus it’s a shout out to breaking the “glass ceiling” but that could just be me qualifying because I REALLY love the design!!! I love the flapper girl–this makes me think breaking stereotypes because then women didn’t work unless subservient to men plus notice the gal in the suit…. anyway…) back to question:

I was told that as long as I order by the 15th I’d get the July bag, but I’m still deciding & gave myself until Friday (a Saturday deadline worries me because I don’t know if the work over the weekend).

I still can’t decide because I love scrubs of all sorts but the Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics – Coffee + Coconut Lip Scrub frightens me because I’m not a coffee gal so since I can’t find any info that says how much coffee tasting this is I’m contacting Jelly Pong to help me decide.

I like how they let you opt out monthly (like Julep). Boxes like popsugar which I haven’t gotten the past 2 months (thankfully as I just saw July) after the 6 month holiday box subscription expired & for some reason didn’t renew (thankfully again) can really bum you out when you get what you don’t want/need. That’s why I love this site & getting reviews in time to make decisions. I actuality did the same w/BB. I stopped after 4 years of boxes after I saw the July preview & my yearly subscription ended. I’ll wait for previews & decide then.

I digress!!!!

You should have to the end of the month to get the July bag

Those are really beautiful (the swatches) and I like the lip scrub, too. I am getting a Trifle Cosmetics item in my Ipsy bag.

I would get this sub if their bags were always just the background patterns, without the text. I am addicted to pouches of all kinds, and I love the creative patterns that this company comes up with. But the text really ruins them for me, unfortunately.

Noelle

I hadn’t thought about that. The bag is darling on its own without quotes. Good idea.

I think this is my next sub…. 🙂

Me, too! I’ve been on the fence about and now after this review, I think I’m gonna try it.
