Duck and Goose Go to the Beach by Tad Hills - Value $9.02 on Amazon (retail price $17.99)

Tad Hills came to my school a few years ago for an author visit and was a fabulous presenter! I’m such a huge fan of his work. My students and my kids all love his Duck and Goose books and his Rocket the Dog books. Duck and Goose are two friends that have different personalities but always find fun adventures. This beach version is a ton of fun and perfect for summertime reading.

The Man in the Moon by William Joyce - Value $12.25 on Amazon (retail price $17.99)

This book has richly colored fantastical illustrations. It’s a lengthy story (for young children) about how the Man in the Moon came to be. This story is a pure unadulterated fantasy in the most pleasing way. This is part of the Guardians of Childhood series by William Joyce. My six-year-old son enjoyed this story very much. He now wants me to get the other books in the series.

Night Animals by Gianna Marino - Value $13.15 on Amazon (retail price $16.99)

This book cracks us up. The nocturnal animals in the story are big scaredy-cats. Whenever they hear a noise they are scared of “night animals” until Bat points out to them they ARE night animals! The animal’s expressions are so well illustrated and make the story even more amusing. My daughter’s favorite part is when the stinky skunk lets loose with his spray and it looks like the other animals are about to keel over from the stench.

The Summer Nick Taught His Cats to Read by Curtis Manley - Value $14.84 on Amazon (retail price $17.99)

I have been reading great reviews of this book on librarian blogs and social media, but this was the first time I have been able to get my hands on a copy. It is a great story that didn’t disappoint. Nick decided this is going to be the summer he shares his favorite pastime, reading, with his cats. Verne quickly gets on board, Stevenson, not so much. However by the end of the story both cats are reading, both independently and with Nick as well as acting out some stories of their own.

Verdict: The value this month was over $49 (using Amazon’s prices) which I’m very happy with and is almost double the cost of the box ($26 a month with free shipping)! The books are always well curated, beautifully wrapped and represent a variety of topics, authors, and illustrators. It was impossible to pick a favorite this month because we loved every single book! With four new hardcover books every month this is a great subscription to quickly grow your home library at a fabulous price. This is my favorite children’s book subscription of all the ones I have had the pleasure to review.

This has quickly become my favorite subscription box! I love the books they send, I get it for my 1 year old and enjoy getting new books every month. I get very tired of reading the same books over and over and over and over lol.

Yes, reading the same books gets so boring! I’m so glad you love this subscription as much as I do. 😊
