Each box comes with a booklet detailing the month’s products and prices. Art of Organics’ theme this month was “Splash” and the products were intended to keep you glowing and hydrated all summer long. The tiny swimmers print on the box band and booklet was done by Angela McKay of Ohkii Studio based in Brooklyn, NY.

Akar Skin Desert Rescue Face Oil (1 oz.) - Value $90.00

Desert Rescue facial oil absorbs quickly and leaves absolutely no greasy residue, vital for steamy summer days. I prefer a moisturizer with sunscreen during the day so I’ve been using this as my nighttime oil. It will absorb much faster and be easier to apply if your skin is damp. 2-4 drops of oil are all it takes and my skin felt fabulous. The glass dropper is bulbous at the bottom and makes it easy to get just the right amount of product.

Akar Skin Ruby Tint Lip Butter (.24 oz.) - Value $32.00

This deep violet glass pot of lip butter is so luxe feeling. It contains almond oil, goji seed oil, rose flower oil and rosemary extract. In the pot, the lip butter looks like a fairly deep shade of red. However, when you apply it to your lips, it has a very light natural sheen. It’s like your own lip color, but better. My lips felt moisturized for hours after wearing.

Clean Beauty Box - Splash - June 2017

Here is the tint on my lips. As you can see it really just gives a very natural sheen.

Verdict: This month’s Clean Beauty Box value is $122 which is amazing compared to the $39 cost of the box. Both items were big winners for me personally. Akar was a great brand to highlight this month! Clean Beauty is hands down my favorite beauty subscription and one of my all-time favorite subscriptions period. Their curation, packaging and customer service are consistently exceptional.

Looking at Pearlesque, Clean Beauty Box or Beauty Heroes. Any thoughts on which is the best?

Thanks everyone, I am going with Clean Beauty Box and Beauty Heroes, both boxes do not send products containing phenoxyethanol. That stuff makes my eyes swell up terribly. So excited to find boxes that I can USE EVERYTHING in!!! Really did not want to spend a bunch a month just to end up on the swap boards…. And somehow I ended up with 2 Goodbeing boxes a month, but those are not always phenoxyethanol free but is a good box

I have them all and love them all, and they are all very similar but art of organics (clean beauty box) is my personal favorite. I have never been disappointed with anything of theirs, never had any shipping or product issues, and they take a very personal approach to customer service that is top notch (although pearlesque is great too)- pearlesque seems to offer more items generally though, which is nice, and beauty heroes seems to have very unique items and brands- they are all very similar and very wonderful so tough to choose!
Oh, I had also read that the Art of Organics owner used to work for Anthropologie as a shopper (which is my favorite store ever, period.) and I feel like that is reflected in her curation/packaging somewhat (but maybe that is just me!), that could be another reason it holds a special spot as my number one 😊❤️

I’ve tried most of them as, from Perlesque, to Bowalla, Goodbeing, etc…. Art of Organics has hands down become my favorite. It is not always the most bang or your buck but their customer service is off the chart, packaging is awesome and it feels like there is diversity product. End up using every single product and can open them the same money they are sent out. Do wish they would send out a current box for hair but overall they are my favorite natural box after trying most of them.

I love Anthropologie too! I’m especially hooked on their beauty offerings. I usually use their 20% off sales to try one new thing (I’m focused on their Puristry line right now), and their 30% off sales to try… lets just saw a “few” new things. 🙂

Luna

My personal favorite out of those three has always been Beauty Heroes, but I do think they’re all pretty good. However, with Art of Organics recently starting to showcase only one brand, like Beauty Heroes, they’re starting to tie. 🙂

forgot to put art of organics on that list, and I have need to look at boxwalla. Just don’t want to get too many boxes but want to try new stuff……

Kate

I love Boxwalla beauty box. I also like Pearlesque, because with the spoilers you can know what you’re getting before you’re charged for it. I wish Art of Organics did that, I always end up canceling and then resubscribing depending on the products. Not doing beauty heroes anymore since it’s a 3 month minimum, last time I subscribed I got a month of makeup which I never used.

They usually do release them about a week early on their Instagram page.

Art of Organics is my favorite box too!! The items are always incredible and the customer service is amazing – I loved this box specifically so much I had to order an extra lol
The serum has some really exotic oils and the lip butter is just so luxurious and beautiful, I’m in love 😍

I wonder if Art of Organics has changed up their model by now only showcasing one brand each month. I remember they used to always include a mixture of brands. I still really like this box, and will definitely re-subscribe in a few months, but part of the fun of this box for me was getting full-sized products from a variety of brands. I felt like I got greater exposure to new-to-me brands that way. But again, not complaining! 🙂

I also agree about their CS. I’ve had billing & cancellation issues with them where they errored on their side (this has happened a few times for me… bad luck?), and they’ve always replied very promptly, sincerely apologized for their oversights, and corrected the issues immediately. Because of their great CS (and curation!), I’ll keep coming back.
