Blue and White Grid Undies
These undies have what I guess is known as a “cheeky” cut—they come up a bit higher than a typical bikini would in the back, but they still provide some coverage.
I like that these are trimmed in lace. It seems like a small detail, but I find that lace trim pinches in a little bit less. In other words, less VPL and more comfort.
I wasn’t wowed by this design, but it’s cute. The fabric feels like some kind of poly-blend. It’s super lightweight and has a good stretch to it. They weren’t the most comfortable underwear to wear—they crept up on me a few times through the day—but in a pinch, they’re not bad.
Gray Lace-Back Undies
These undies are also a “cheeky” cut, but the entire back is lace. The front seems to be some kind of poly-blend like the last pair. They’re similarly really lightweight. I like the neutral color scheme—I love colorful underwear a lot, but it’s nice to have neutral pairs that go with anything.
I’m always a little skittish about big lace details since they’re way more prone to rips and tears over time. At least in wearing these, the lace held up just fine. I’ll just have to be very careful with how I wash this pair!
Overall, they’re pretty comfortable, though these felt a little tighter through the legs to me.
Red Lace Thong
I signed up for the mixed package, so I ended up getting one thong this month. (You can also pick to get all thongs or none at all.) Again, I’m a little worried by this being all lace (and seemingly, not the highest quality lace).
This pair was pretty comfortable, especially thanks to the wide waistband. It did end up basically rolling into a string by the end of the day, but at least this piece wasn’t too tight or anything. On the first wear, this piece held up, but I’ve purchased very similar thongs in the past, and they haven’t lasted too long.
Verdict: I liked the convenience of Splendies—no need to stop at the store to stock up on undies! However, the quality of the pieces was a little lower than I would’ve liked/what I expected. Part of the Splendies deal is that some of the undies arrive tagless and outside of their original packaging, which tells me these are likely to be extra or maybe clearance styles from multiple vendors. That’s not a big deal, but the quality does feel a bit like something you’d find in a discount store selection. Of course, for about $4.66 a pair, I think the quality is fair. These aren’t going to be my favorite undies ever, but the colors and patterns are cute, and I can’t knock having a fully stocked underwear drawer!
