Exclusive Mob Psycho 100 T-Shirt – Value $15?

Mob Psycho 100 started as a Japanese webcomic made by the same artist as One Punch Man. It tells the story of a seemingly average middle-school kid who actually possesses powerful, even deadly, psychic powers. Suppressing his emotions also suppresses his powers, but everyone knows that holding in your feelings only makes things worse. The shirt design depicts what happens to Mob when his psychic powers peak. Any fan of OPM should be a fan of this as well.

This shirt is 100% cotton and made in Mexico. The material is soft and stretchy, and I like the design’s use of negative space for Mob’s face. However, I much prefer something less… creepy. It’s not my favorite tee ever. My boyfriend here is wearing a size M. He says it’s a slightly looser fit than other tees of the same size.

Parasyte Volume 1 – Value $9.43 on Amazon (Retail price $10.99)

Here is the summary from the back cover:

They arrive in silence and darkness. They descend from the skies. They have a hunger for human flesh. They are everywhere. They are parasites, alien creatures who must invade–and take control of–a human host to survive. And once they have infected their victims, they can assume any deadly form they choose: monsters with giant teeth, winged demons, creatures with blades for hands. But most have chosen to conceal their lethal purpose behind ordinary human faces. So no one knows their secret–except an ordinary high school student. Shin is battling for control of his own body against an alien parasite, but can he find a way to warn humanity of the horrors to come?

Parasyte is a sci-fi horror manga first published in 1988. This is a special collector’s edition, which includes an exclusive Fairy Tail/Parasyte crossover short story written by the author of the manga series Fairy Tail. To be honest, I don’t do horror anything. Despite that, the first volume of Parasyte had plenty of comedic factors that made it a surprisingly enjoyable read.

Exclusive Noragami Snapback Hat – Value $15?

Noragami is an action/comedy series about a small god, Yato, who wants to make himself better known to humans. In order to raise funds to build a shrine, he sets up a service to help people in need for a small fee. The story revolves around Yato and his companions’ adventures together.

I received Volume 1 of this manga back in the February 2016 Loot Anime and read through the whole book, but I didn’t pursue this series further. This snapback features the headgear logo of Yato’s main rival and antagonist, Rabo. I like the black and red color scheme but the red eyeball is a bit too eerie for me. I can’t see my boyfriend or myself wearing this around town.

Exclusive Glow-In-The-Dark Death Note Mug – Value $12?

One popular trope in anime and manga is the otherworldly activities of Shinigami, or the “god of death.” This ceramic, 11-ounce mug features a Shinigami named Ryuk from Death Note. One side shows a profile view of Ryuk, while the other features a skull surrounded by flowers and thorns. It is hand was only and not safe for the microwave. This mug is something I would pull out only during Halloween. Ryuk isn’t the prettiest character around, you know? Plus, the thought of seeing a glow-in-the-dark skull in the middle of the night makes me uneasy. If this month’s Loot Anime was intended to scare me in my own home, then they’ve pretty much succeeded.

Exclusive Yume UNNATURAL Charm – Value $2?

This month’s charm features Yume in vampire form and wielding a scythe. She also glows in the dark! To me, Yume’s big, goofy eyes are a welcome reprieve from the rest of the box.

Verdict: I think it’s obvious by now that I am not good with eerie things. While I really enjoy some of the featured titles like Mob Psycho 100 and Death Note, wearing them is a different story. Therefore, this month’s theme wasn’t for me. Despite that, I think the curation was very well rounded, not to mention all the wearables and home goods were of high quality. My rough estimate of the total value is $53.43, which is more than twice the cost of the box before shipping.
