FabFitFun sends out a mini mag in each box. This time, it’s more of a newspaper style! It details the items included and also provides background on some of the featured makers and designers.

Every quarter, FabFitFun partners with a different charity, and for this box, the charity is Joyful Heart.

Now, time for the items!

Michael Stars Ruana – Value $54

This Ruana is a multi-use product that can work as a scarf, sarong, or wrap! It measures 41″ x 72″and it is 100% Viscose.

The fabric is super soft, lightweight, and a touch sheer – it’s a perfect warm weather material.

Here it is on as a wrap:

If you are an annual subscriber, you were able to select your Ruana print. If you’re a quarterly subscriber, you’ll be surprised by which print you receive. Here are the two other fabrics you may receive:

The Ruana takes up very little space, so it is great for summer travel packing!

Here is this one worn as a scarf:

And here is the blue print:

Here, I styled it as a sarong (ignore the over-jeans part!):

You know how some multi-use products can be complicated to use and get the look exactly right? This Ruana isn’t like that at all – I didn’t even need to look in a mirror for any of these looks.

Kris Nations Mystic Bar Necklace – Value $58

First, I love this glass bottle packaging! So cute!

This necklace has an adjustable length 16-18 inches:

The gemstone bar measures about 0.75″

This necklace is gold-filled, and it’s one of three options you may receive. Here are the other two colors:

This peach gemstone version:

And this sterling silver chain version:

Again, if you are an annual subscriber, you were able to select your necklace. If you’re a quarterly subscriber, you’ll be surprised by which necklace you receive.

On to the last color choice option!

BKR Bottle in Rosie – Value $35

(Subscribers will receive this bottle in this Rosie Pink shade or the Romeo Blue Shade.)

I have a few of these BKR bottles, and I love them! They are dishwasher safe, and the silicone is BPA and phthalate free, too.

These bright colors are so fun for summer, too!

And if you are an annual subscriber, you were able to select your bottle color. If you’re a quarterly subscriber, you’ll be surprised by which color you receive.

Here is the other color:

Juice Beauty Smoothing Eye Concentrate – Value $29

If you’ve read my reviews before, you might already know that I love the Juice Beauty brand! Their formulas are super ingredient conscious (organic + natural ingredients only), and most of the product have this subtle green apple scent!

This eye concentrate serum is one of my favorite Juice Beauty products I’ve sampled yet! It’s so gentle and creamy! The formula is very hydrating and it absorbed quickly into my skin, too.

Avene Eau Thermale Ultra-Light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion – Value $24

Wow! Even though I saw that this product is described as “fast absorbing” with a “matte finish,” I couldn’t believe how quickly this formula transitioned into a matte finish as I rubbed it in!

The formula is fragrance, paraben, and oil free, too! It has a completely sheer finish, and it works great under makeup!

Cargo HD Picture Perfect Highlighter in Bronze – Value $30

The first thing I noticed when trying this highlighter out is just how silky the formula feels! The pigment concentration is excellent, and the shimmer is super fine – no worries about getting a glitter look!

It is super blendable, too. Here it is swatched:

Next up, all subscribers got the option to pick a mystery fitness item or a beauty item. Here is the fitness item:

Way of Will Post Training Massage Oil – Value $29.50

This brand is new to me, but as soon as I saw 100% natural ingredients, I had a feeling I would be a fan!

It’s meant to be used as a post-workout massage oil. The scent is a blend of Peppermint Essential Oil, German Chamomile Essential Oil, and Lemongrass Essential Oil.

I love the idea of using this as a post-workout treat. It smells so good! I’ll probably use it after showers, too.

And here is the alternative mystery beauty product. (You’ll receive one or the other):

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk – Value $20

This dry shampoo is formulated without parabens or sulfates, and it is great for both absorbing oil and also adding texture and volume.

I used to only use dry shampoo on days when my hair was looking a little greasy. But now I use it every day for extra volume and texture. (And thanks to subscription boxes, I have plenty of dry shampoo to support this daily habit!)

And we have one more choice item! All subscribers were able to pick between a traveler, artist or chef item!

Here is the chef item:

Salted Himalayan Pink Salt Kit – Value $26

How beautiful is this set? It’s one of those items I’ll gladly display on my kitchen counter.

You use the grater to produce salt flakes that are great for finishing a dish. Giada De Laurentiis even included 3 recipes to try this with in the info booklet:

  • Pan Roasted Asparagus with Crispy Fried Egg
  • Bruschetta
  • S’Mores Popcorn

Here is the traveler mystery item (again, you’ll only receive one of these in your box):

Understated Leather Travel Set – Value $28

This set includes a luggage tag and passport holder in vegan leather.

Both pieces are well made, and the on-trend rose gold is gorgeous.

And here is the artist mystery item:

Amy Tangerine Art Kit – Value $22

This set includes a canvas (8X10 inches), stencil, acrylic paints, paint brush, and foam stamper:

I think this is such a fun DIY item to include, but if you are a serious artist, you might be disappointed in the quality of the paints/brushes.

(Amy Tangerine also includes tips for beginners on using this kit. And an idea for throwing an art party!)

Vital Proteins Marine Collagen Sample – Value $2.50

(This collagen sample is an extra in the box that doesn’t count toward the total value of the box for subscribers.)

I’ve been taking collagen powder daily for months now, and I’ve got some of my extended family hooked on it, too! (I’ve personally noticed an improvement in my skin and nails. My husband Eric noticed and improvement in his joints, and nail growth, too.)

Eric uses collagen in his coffee. (This will absorb in either hot or cold liquid.) Most people say they can’t taste the collagen when added to liquid, but I can! So I blend this into a smoothie that masks the flavor.

Verdict: Depending on the variations you receive, this box has a value of $272 to $287.50 (And that’s not counting any value for the FabFitFun TV channel access, or the bonus collagen.) As always, I find myself saying, “I don’t know how they do it!”

I’m so impressed with the high-end beauty brands FabFitFun is including lately. The Avene sunscreen, Cargo Highlighter, and Juice Beauty eye serum are all great quality items that are perfect for summer. And both the massage oil and dry shampoo options are fab, too.

I love all the Ruana prints, and the item is super versatile. (And delicate gold jewelry is always a win for me!) Oh! And the BKR bottle is great for summer, too! If you are going on a summer vacation, I hope you get this box before you leave!

What do you think of the Summer 2017 FabFitFun box? How do you feel about the mystery choice options this season?

Use coupon code MSA10 to get this box for only $40!

  1. This is another great box by FFF!!! There’s nothing in it I absolutely “need” but that’s the fun of sub boxes. I look at them as fun surprises and gifts to myself. Even the things I have no use for make such great gifts. I know I’ll be gifting the water bottle because I’m a YETI girl. Even more than the box, I love FFF add ons. Unfortunately, there was a mistake with one of mine this time. I ordered the maji ball but got the maji roller. I really want the ball so I hope they’re able to correct the error. I’m not real happy about the hassle of mailing back wrong merchandise. Oh well, everything else is great.

  2. Just got mine, and fair warning, I tried the juice beauty eye cream, and it caused instant rash. I do not have sensitive skin, never reacted to an eye cream before, so try it on your wrist first. It’s not a good look and not pleasant feeling. I had a sample of ouai rose oil from play on my desk, and that helped, but just fair warning. I have never reacted life that. Rash within maybe two minutes after putting it on

    • The exact same thing happened to me.

  3. My box arrived today and I am missing my ruana and the highlighter. I’ve sent a message to customer service, but it is torture waiting for a reply. I am not happy! 😡

    • I think they are really having some quality control/packing issues this quarter, my highlighter came all crumbled…and all over everything in the box!
I have seen other comments mention broken/missing things as well, although I think a missing ruana may be the first!
Hope they send you a replacement ASAP!
Also hope they reply to us both ASAP….

  4. I’d love to swap for the Salted kit if anyone is interested! I was pretty disappointed in this box, and posted a lot of the items on the swap site. I canceled my subscription after the last box, and this was my last box in the subscription. :-/

    • I chose every choice and boost options and my box shipped yesterday (will receive it on the 23rd). I have a select account and chose th black ruana but my seasonal account box is the one that shipped yesterday. I’m really looking for the blue ruana. If I don’t receive the blue ruana, is anyone interested in swapping their blue ruana for the salt kit?

  5. My box shipped last night (finally! Lol) any of you ladies who have already received your boxes, would you care to share the invoice # of you FEDEx shipping label? Mine is 1x 1702-DO-1II
Should be here Saturday (I’m on the East coast).

    • I am East Coast (Pennsylvania) and my box arrived today. Shipping label: 1x-1702-DO-2R

      • Yay! So happy to hear you received your box !
Would you care to share what variations you received ?

      • Sure! The variations that I received were; the salt kit, the passport and luggage tag, massage oil, the pink water bottle, black and white scarf/sarong, blue bar necklace. I think the box was cute. I used to subscribe to Rachel Zoe’s Box of Style. I became disappointed in the cost vs items so I cancelled and just have FabFitFun.

  6. Man, I’m surprised you all hate the travel one! I think it looks super cute, and I love that it’s Vegan Leather! I’m excited to get it and see how it holds up 🙂 And I’m obsessed with rose gold everything, so I’m sure I’ll love it.

    • I agree! I think the passport holder and luggage tag are super cute! And I just got my box and now that I have it, that might be the highest quality item.

  7. I feel like I’m in the minority: I absolutely LOVE this box. I didn’t read this review until I got my box today and so most everything (besides my color choices) was a surprise. A FANTASTIC surprise! That being said I think I ended up with the best choices. I picked the black ruana, the white necklace (only because it was silver), the pink water bottle, and I went with the chef and working out choices. Now I probably would have been disappointed with the travel or artist choices or the beauty product so I can understand why people are frustrated with those items. Even though the five year old artist (I’m not a good artist) in me would probably love to play around with that art kit. Now that I think about it I may look to see if I can swap for one, lol. It just happens that my favorite items in the box are the salt and the massage oil so it worked out well for me. I’ve been having a hard time health wise and financially (because of my health) that this box really ended up being such a treat. I prepaid for this when I could afford it so I think that makes me appreciate it that much more since I’m not sure when I will actually be able to pay for a sub box again. Anyways, good job FabFitFun but next time you may not want to be so vague about your choice items so people don’t get disappointed. And it would PROBABLY be a good idea to add at least one true “fit” item. Although like I said, I’m happy as a clam.

    • I loved my box too. I think they shouldn’t have upcharged and kept the boxes the same, there would be much happier people here.

  8. I just joined in spring. I haven’t even been billed yet for the summer box. 🙁 I’m ready to have it now lol. Also, I somehow completely missed the email about choosing the option. I think I just deleted it without opening it, assuming it was encouraging me to become a select member. I could kick myself! I will definitely be paying more attention next time!

  9. My travel set was missing. I’m super excited about it. I already have a passport cover but it’s fun to switch it out. My bronzer was smashed to tiny pieces. Already contacted customer support and they are sending me those items. So glad I did not pick beauty. Really do not need another dry shampoo.

  10. Did anyone else’s sunglasses get damaged and removed from their add-ons? I’m feeling pretty let down tbh.

    • I am super mad. My rose gold aviators were removed from my add on order and those were what I wanted the most ! Plus my box has not shipped yet. Just super annoyed and disappointed

    • Yes, I got an email yesterday saying the sunglasses arrived in “less than perfect condition” so I wouldn’t be getting them, but I am getting a refund.

  11. My Cargo HD bronze highlighter arrive totally smashed 🙁 Anyone else?

FFF is awesome, and after a 2-minute live chat they’ll send another, but it’s always a bummer to get a damaged product. I have total faithful that FFF will deliver a replacement eventually, but I have had several nightmare experiences with POPSUGAR trying to get missing or damaged products replaced.

Otherwise, I LOVE THIS BOX! So useful, all the items are high quality, notable brands, and the value doesn’t make me roll my eyes like PS boxes that are like “this candle is a $50 value!”.

I don’t know how they do it, but I’m so happy they do!

  12. After seeing how good this box is I just ordered it, wonder how long it will take to get to me?

  13. Traveler option was a huge let down. Such a bummer…

  14. My husband purchased the annual subscription as a birthday surprise. I was too late to select options for the editor’s box and the Spring box. The items I didn’t like were great gifts. I would have never seen and/or purchased the gypsy round but it is so wonderful and useful.

I am biting at the bit to get my box (I get it Saturday, woo hoo!). I was able to make my choices.

I wear only silver so I got the silver and white necklace and the blue/white ruhana. I am short but thin. The ruhana will make a perfect beach cover up. You can wear it so many ways. My husband is fair skinned and we have been looking for a good sunscreen for him as he is outside some of the time. Yay! The cargo highlighter looks perfect. The water bottle looks functional and heathy. I got the dry shampoo. I don’t use it but I will experiment.

I chose the chef. Himalayan sea salt is not table salt. It is very healthy for you and I’ve been using it for years. What a cleaver way to use it. (The grinder is boring!). My hubs is insisting I make all the recipes within a week of receipt.

I am so pleased with this subscription and hope it’s an annual birthday gift.

It’s only $49.95. That’s without coupons or pre-payment. I would think people would have better things to say.

I ❤️It! It’s one of the best gifts my hubs has given me in the 20 years we have been together.

  15. Wow, I am kind of mad right now. I ordered the Spring box as a one time and forgot all about cancelling until I received an email from FFF telling me they charged my card for the summer box and some other pool thing I never ordered. I emailed yesterday and told them to take this item off my card. They had the nerve to write back they would do a one time courtesy by refunding the thing they charged to my card. I did write back I was doing them a one time courtesy by not disputing the charge with my cc.

The other thing I am upset about, I never received any type of notification that I was able to chose from anything. I haven’t ordered from FFF in a couple of years and not familiar with all the “add ons” and choices now available. I know not being a select member I am limited, but according to this review I could have chosen the Chef item or the or the beauty item.
    How was I to know?
Sorry about the rant! Oh one more thing, that necklace, $58? It’s more like $9.99 at best. Seriously…..this is one of the worse inflated prices I have ever seen from a sub box, and I’ve seen a lot.

    • I’m not trying to be rude but if you forgot to cancel that’s on you and I’m not sure how that’s FFF fault. I think it was cool of them to refund you even after the reminders that cut off was approaching. Also, I am confused as to how you didn’t get the email stating choice was open? Not for the annual members but for every member so they could choose chef, traveler or artist. I have a unique email that doesn’t give me 25% of my email plus I’m not an annual subscriber and I still received the email. Unless there was an outdated email or something I don’t get it. Anyway, I really hate that you forgot to cancel but I’m glad you were refunded anyway. Im also sorry you didn’t get to choose something for a box you didn’t want and forgot about. Don’t worry about the rant. We all need to rant sometime but the rant was more inflated than you say that necklace is.

  16. This will be my last month not happy the DIY looks like a child kit. Do not use highlighters. Also I got billed for a eyeshadow pallete add on which I had taken off my add ons in May . Have contacted them twice and no response from them yet. Not thrilled with this box at all.

  17. I purchased 5 add ons and my box still hasn’t shipped 😩! I’m kicking myself for not listening to my fiancé, he told me to choose chef and fitness…I went with traveler and beauty. I am hoping I can trade for/purchase the Himalayan pink sea salt kit!

  18. Has anyone had any experience with Customer Service? I didn’t get the additional Choice items (I chose them all), but was charged for them. When I notified them I was told to “check my box”. Isn’t that how I found out they were missing in the first place?

    Anyone have any ideas?

    • Uh oh. I just opened my box and although I was charged for 13 add ons, 13 show up in my shipping confirmation email and invoice in the box, I only received 5…8 add ons are missing with no note or explanation!!! I just emailed. I hope I’m not screwed….I’ll be a bit mad to put it mildly…

      • Oh no, that’s awful! Let us know what they say/do for you!
I bet it’s cause they were soo much busier than they thought they would be, after all they even pushed out the shipping deadlines!
That’s of course no excuse for not having what you paid for, so I hope they ship out your missing stuff extra fast, or at least put in something extra for you!
Fingers crossed you get someone nice!!

      • Thanks!

      • Eep! Let us know how it goes! I got a bunch of add ons including an editor’s box. Going to be taping my opening of it just to be safe.

Customer service is usually really great though. I had one meh experience with someone but then a manager ended up taking over and fixing the situation in one transaction. (I wasn’t asking for anything extra or free nor did i receive that but the situation was rectified)

      • Good idea about the video. I thought the box was awfully small. So I actually put the things I got back in and took a pic to show there isn’t much room for 8 more things just in case. Also took a pic of the invoice where someone apparently marked the stuff in the box…and it’s not all marked! Hopefully that helps a bit. Ugh. I don’t mind waiting if they are shipping separate I just wish there was some notification! This is unnecessarily stressful and takes the fun of box arrival time away!!! 🙁

      • I just checked and I paid for 12 add-ons but only 11 add-ons are in my shipping notification so I know I’m going to be upset. 🙁

      • Well, I just got my first reply from customer service about my 8 missing add-ons. They also asked me if my Summer box came in a brown box and told me I should re-check it. Um. Yes, my summer box came in a brown box with the 5 add-ons I told you I actually did receive. And I don’t think 8 missing add-ons are going to magically appear when I look in the box again. Is it like like a Tardis…it’s bigger on the inside than appears on the outside?? 8 more items wouldn’t even fit in that box! Uggh. I’m trying to keep my patience and hope for the best but this is frustrating. I replied as nicely as I could and included my picture of the already filled box and the marks on the packing list. Still hoping for the best, but not expecting much….so disappointing….

      • It may take a while but they will make it right. Last time they had the crazy debacle with everyone getting duplicate mystery bundles and ended up sending everyone fresh bundles AND they got to keep the old ones. Which had me kicking myself since I only got one and really lost out. It took a while but they did make sure people were happy. You also get a survey after the matter is deemed to be resolved by the customer service rep and if you aren’t happy management steps in and tries to make it better. Have faith.

      • Thanks for the pep talk and reassurance. It’s just alot of missing items AND money. I was kicking myself for doing so many add-ons in the first place so this seems like an “I told you so” moment to myself. LOL.

    • Ok guys…more positive update this time! I already got a second response back from customer service and it sounds like they are going to send out replacements for all 8 of my missing items. They were very apologetic, assured me that this is not “normal” and the kind of thing they want to happen and thanked me for providing the pictures of the box and the packing slip. So, although I hope none of you run into the same issues, I recommend making sure to take pictures and sending as much “proof” as you can ASAP. It does seem like FFF customer service is willing to try to make it right and take care of issues quickly. My faith is restored….for now….lol.

    • Well I guess my drama with this quarter isn’t over yet. Just got another email saying that after all this 2 of the items I never received are really out of stock and they won’t be sent after all. I’m really disappointing since one of them was one of the first items I added and really wanted to try (eye cream). They offered a credit to use at their store. I requested one back to my credit card instead. Ugh. Sounds like the shipments are a bit of a mess this go around.

  19. I’m not sure what to say about this box other than…thanks for not including more salt spray? It’s just okay…but I like all of the others so much it’s worth hanging on to the sub. Summers are not the best time to be subscribers 🙂 That art thing and the luggage tag are dollar store specials.

  20. I received my box yesterday. I’m most happy with the Juice Beauty, Avene, and Klorane, and of course, all my add-ons. The ruana and necklace will make good gifts. The ruana is really soft!

I never want to receive another highlighter.

  21. Cute box! Definitely most excited about the bkr bottle and the necklace 🙂 I know I’ll end up using and probably loving everything in the box eventually though, that’s how most of the boxes have worked for me. Great review, thanks Liz!!!

  22. Does anybody know about when these boxes go on sale ?

  23. Hey all, is there any chance someone here has a beige/red ruana for trade/sale?
I am not on the trade site(I just joined but not approved yet) but tell me how and I can
I would be happy to trade for it or just buy the whole box!

I was hoping the site would have them up for sale like last quarter, where you could pick your roundie, but no such luck! I am getting a box already w/ the black/grey for me, but would LOVE to get my mum the color she has been eyeing ever since I picked mine out.

If not, i’ll find a way to hunt one done for her somehow lol! (yes, I like to give my mum gifts throughout the year lol…I live w/ her so she deserves it!)

    • If you’re looking to buy one there’s usually an onslaught of FFF items on poshmark after people get their boxes.

      • Hi, thanks I checked that out. Sadly, that’s more full price for the ruana. I was planning on either trading for one or buying the box from someone. If not I may take my chances on a second box from FFF, as at least then the value is still there!
Thanks for the tip though, I hadn’t heard of the site before!

    • Hi! I am getting a 2nd box and if I get the rhuana in those colors, I’d love to trade for the black and white one..

I am also looking for the white Hoolite necklace..

I have not received shipping yet, so I will let you know!

      • Hope you get the black and white one too!
I am sorry if I wasn’t clear before but I want to keep my black n white one as I am addicted to cover ups like this one but wanted to get a second one for my mum.
Sorry for the mix up, but hope you get the black ruana and the grey necklace in your box(I have pink so I can’t help there)

  24. I just received my box and I LOVE IT! I was bummed that I chose the travel option and was not thrilled by the luggage tag but for some reason, there was divine intervention and I got the sea salt instead!!! 🙂 YEAY! I ordered and extra summer box and got 2 of the blue ruana’s, I actually customized for the beige one so I live chatted with April in customer care and they are sending me my original choice.
I didn’t care to opt to get the luggage tag since I was didn’t want it anyway. The BRK bottle is superb and will be put to good use this summer. Cargo highlighter is perfect for summer, Avene SPF is always welcome and the necklaces are super cute.
Definitely much better in person than on posts although Liz does such an awesome job with her reviews, there’s nothing better than touching the actual items.
This subscription is worth every penny!

  25. I am disappointed in this box. I loved the spring box I received, but this one is a bit of a let down. I chose the chef option, so I am really going to like that. The beauty option is dry shampoo? How lame is that? Does not work in my hair. I regret not choosing the fitness option. The highlighter looks like the wrong color for my complexion. Bummer because I love make up. The Ruana looks cute. I hope I get the beige one. The other stuff I will try, but I was hoping for more exciting goodies.

  26. Haven’t looked at the reviews yet, want to be surprised. Just wondering how many people have already gotten their boxes? I should be getting it soon since I am priority. Just wondering how many other people with priority are waiting. (I know there’s 10 business days from June 6 that it has to ship.)

    • My boxes haven’t shipped yet either, I’m waiting impatiently (I am priority shipping also).

      • Same, and I was hoping it would arrive before I left for a few days 🙁
(I have someone who watched over my mail if i’m away, but wanted it now lol)

  27. Thank you so much for the review Liz. I am looking forward to this box. It looks amazing. I chose fitness and travel with an artist add on, well a few add ons but for this box, that specifically. Yeah, I am kicking myself for dropping the chef and not dropping the artist. I love the chef item but that seems to be the popular opinion. The artist option seemed a little bit of a letdown but it’s pretty neat, in its own way. I probably won’t use the travel option as much as I imagined but I love it. It looks gorgeous and seems high quality. All in all I love this FFF summer box and can’t wait till it’s on it’s way.

  28. I added a mystery bundle… on complete accident! Is that separate items then the ones shown that we had a choice “topic?”

    • If you’re asking if a mystery bundle is different than choice items, then yup they should be different. I have never gotten one, but assume it wouldn’t have items from the main box in it!
Hope it’s a fun surprise, and quick shipping for ya!

      • Ha! I was secretly hoping it wasn’t the choice items! I totally want to know what it is before I get it though. I like surprises, but when I know a surprise is coming, it’s totally different! I love this box sub. It’s my favorite out of all the ones I get. I just dropped blessbox, but this one, dermstore and allure are always on point. Through this website I am going to try a few of the higher end natural beauty boxes. I really want to do boxwalla and goodbeing. I think it’s goodbeing….

      • Haha, yes surprises can be fun but then I never can avoid the spoilers! I tell myself it’s still a surprise cause it’s not the same as seeing it, plus the person(s) I share it with rarely see/remember the spoilers anyways!!
Goodbeing box is awesome, I tried it once and the CS was great about picking the color I wanted(was the scarf box). Good CS can really make or break a box!
I love it when FFF has natural beauty stuff, then I don’t have to find it elsewhere lol!

  29. Has anyone washed their blue roundie from the spring box? I want to know if the color runs in the wash. Thanks!

    • They don’t. Treat like normal.

    • The tag on mine says dry clean only. I got the tan one for reference.

  30. I am completely disappointed in this whole box and no way believe it is worth the $49.99! Which is exactly why I cancelled before the June 4th deadline. But guess what? The money was STILL taken out of my account! I am livid! I still have thr email as proof that I cancelled but that doesn’t change the fact that my money is still gone!

    • Dude, just email them. I was charge for something and it was even my mistake and I was able to email them. The first time, they said it was too late, but I pressed and they refunded me. They have pretty good customer service.

  31. The box itself is cute but I have to say that I was disappointed when I opened it and the majority of the box consisted of beauty products (highlighter, sunscreen, skin item, etc). It felt more like getting a beauty box than a lifestyle box. I love the water bottle and I’ll give the Ruana a shot but overall a let down and will be swapping the majority of the box. I went out and purchased a yoga mat and work out pants frOm marshalls today- felt like the fit part was missing and the muscle oil felt more like a beauty aromatherapy item than something fitness related (even a workout headband, pedometer, ear buds, something would’ve been better than an oil for fitness). I do tend to like fall and winter boxes the best so I’m holding out hope but will consider doing seasonal instead of annual next time since summer was a let down.

  32. I’m more excited about my add ons than I am the box. If anyone wants to buy it let me know!

  33. I’m surprised there are people that don’t love this box! I am definitely a Summer person and I will use everything in it. I got the black ruana, pink water bottle, turquoise necklace, sunscreen, highlighter, under eye serum, dry shampoo, and passport cover.

This is an absolutely insane deal for $50. That’s $6.25 per item!!!!

I know some people that are disappointed got add-in’s they didn’t love. I think the better deal would be to pay a little more, get 2 boxes and swap the extra stuff you don’t want.

I was in a store on Abbott Kinney last weekend, which is the trendiest shopping area in L.A. and saw the BKR for $35. I honestly would have bought it if I wasn’t already getting it in the box and now I’m getting so much more. Could not be happier and I’m so psyched for my box to arrive 🙂

    • I had added extra choices then dropped them and got a second box. Great minds think alike 😂. I do like this box, but I really loved spring. That’s why I subscribed although it was too late for choices and add-ins for spring. I’m very excited for my add-ins this time.

    • I was thinking of adding a summer box. But I wouldn’t have been able to choose if I just added on a summer box right? Anyway, I was happy about adding the chef because I like it better than the traveler (which was my original choice). So it’s ok with me.

    • Yeah, it’s a smoking deal no matter how you slice it. Regardless of if every item works for you or not, there’s no denying the value is there.

  34. Not much in the box I’m looking forward to, besides the water bottle and the jewelry. Pretty underwhelming for a summer box. I think the ‘choice’ design is cute, but pretty impractical if you don’t like your item. Might be better if we knew the items ahead of time and then were able to ‘choose’ chef, artist, etc. Just my opinion though. Hopefully I can swap some of the oils and such type of items.

  35. i feel like they’ve been slacking on the “fit” part of the sub lately. i can’t see myself using the oil on myself (i don’t have anyone to give me a good back rub unfortunately). i was hoping for something more useful, like a workout dvd, fitness gloves, workout/nutrition book, bluetooth headphones, etc.

i would’ve been thrilled for the art kit had it been more of a grown up version with better supplies better quality paints/brushes and perhaps a more adult stencil like a pattern or inspo verse.

i’m not feeling any of the patterns on the michael stars item… they seem pretty kmart to me.

guess i’ll be swapping everything except for the eye serum and sunscreen :/

most disappointing fff box so far. maybe they should have some fff members be part of a focus group to vet some of their future box ideas, because it seems a lot of the feedback here is the same… a lot of ppl are disappointed about certain items in the box. if they got that feedback ahead of time from a focus group, they might have more raves than misses and maybe not lose out on subscribers.

  36. Anyone want to trade the art kit for the rock salt or passport cover?

  37. Wow. I’m actually REALLY bglad that I didn’t get around to updating my credit card information for this. I’m also glad I didn’t decide to become an annual subscriber after the Spring box (which I almost did). I would have been seriously disappointed with this box. I’m feeling like most of these items, with the exception of the necklace, are rejects from past boxes or didn’t meet quality control standards. They all just seem so cheap. The luggage set would actually be really classy if it didn’t have writing on it, particularly lyrics from a Willie Nelson tune lol. FFF seems to have gotten really inconsistent with the quality of their boxes. Time to cancel this subscription for good. I may go back to Pop Sugar Must Have to awhile and see how that goes…and I’ll never give up BeautyFix which is always a high value hit for me.

  38. Is there anyone who wants to swap the black ruana for my blue one? I picked blue but now want the black. Please let me know. I’m on the swap site.

  39. I debated back and forth between the black and blue ruana. After seeing It on Liz, I wished I had picked the black. Also, I picked artist first, but quickly changed it to chef. I’ve done some art and I really didn’t like the DIY terrarium from PSMH. So, I did not have high hopes for it and I was right. I’m not sure whether being an annual is that advantageous. Yes, we really get to choose. The caveat to this, FFF does not give the best pictures to the choices. And as has been stated, the RV is pretty overstated on some of the items. Oh, well, this may be my last box.

  40. I love the box by I am disappointed with my choice of the beauty item! I hate dry shampoo. I wish I had picked the chef option. That Himalayan pink salt set is so cute!

I want to swap my Michael Stars Ruana for the black one. I have the blue Ruana currently and would love the black instead.

  41. I picked the beauty and artist item. I have way to many dry shampoos and that is the lamest artist item I have ever seen. My 7 year old is excited though! I am a quarterly subscriber, so hopefully I didn’t get my picks. This is the first box from this sub that is a total bust for me.

  42. So bummed I picked the artist option. I can get all that at the dollar store for $5.

    • That artist item looks so cheap. FFF should be ashamed of themselves. Those who didn’t like the paint set should definitely write a note to the FFF customer service department.

  43. I think they had it made with the water bottle, wrap and necklace and loved they released those spoilers only. I was happy with those 3 items alone and went in feeling anything else is just BONUS box fillers and as surprise bonus items they are pretty cool! Yeah, $10 for the painting kit is pretty steep, but not any worse than $10 for a brass cuff braclet or set of crawlers that you can find at the mall for $5.
I think this is to be expected when purchasing blindly. Still, with FFF im glad to have an anual sub bc even though I dont know what im getting ahead of time, once items are revealed being able to pick colors and bonuses softens the blow of “well i wouldnt have bought this on my own had i known”
Over all, i ended up paying $55 for 9 very cute items, so $6 each 🙂
I feel like i wouldnt have paid $6 for most of these items had i seen them out shopping because I dont NEED any of these…but I was out of town last week and bought a very similar cover up at family dollar for $5 just last week, and a bottle of sunscreen for $7 so I know I really would, and its nice to have everything picked out and delivered 😎. Definiely feel ready for summer with this box! 😍

  44. The reason why I subscribed to FabFitFun was because the Spring 2017 box was amazing! I used all of the items in that box. Now that I have seen the summer box, I cancelled it before getting billed. I really don’t find any of these items useful to me for the $50.00 price tag. I picked the travel item, and its a passport holder. I will not use that because I don’t go out of the country. I think what I meant by travel was going to the beach and sometimes out of state. I actually liked the massage oil for the fitness item better. (Wish I would have picked that had I known what it was actually going to be). If I am paying $50.00, I hope I would get $50.00 worth of products that are useful to me, otherwise it is just a waste of my money. This box was a bummer big time. I might resubscribe to the Fall box if its better and more useful for the value that I would pay.

  45. I for one love this box and just ordered this box for the first time ever because everything looks awesome. I never wanted to order Fab Fit Fun before because of all the fitness items they included (I don’t need jump ropes or yoga towels!). But I LOVE that this fitness item is the massage oil (but if I get the dry shampoo that’s cool too- it’s always useful to have, I use them like hair sprays) and that all the items can easily be used by everyone or gifted. I already own 3 BKR water bottles but they make excellent and high quality gifts, I LOVE eye cream in boxes (I usually buy them full price individually so this is a great value for me), the scarf is so versatile and perfect for summer, and the dainty necklace is cute. I can always use extra sunscreen, plus I think it’s so high quality that if I don’t use it I can gift it. The one thing I don’t like is the Cargo bronzer as bronzer is given too much in boxes, but at least this one seems like it can go on any skin tone (hate the super dark ones that look like fake tanner) and just adds a shimmery glow. Sold!

  46. Received the magic words “your order has shipped”. I am an annual living in TX with a receive date of 14 June!

    • Lucky! Did you get add-ons? My last box shipped right at the 10 business days after billing. If that happens this time I won’t get it before my summer trip.

      • Yes. I have add ons!

  47. If anyone wants to sell the salt block, I’d gladly buy it.

    • I’m debating about keeping mine but how would you pay for it Erica?

  48. I really like this. Ok, so I resubscribed to get one. However, I wasn’t given any options of choosing between any of the items that say all subscribers were able to choose. Any advice????

    • You have to prepay for the entire year in order to be able to choose.

      • Thanks! I’m really hoping for the dry shampoo though. I just got approved for the swap site, so maybe I can switch with someone who wants the oil.

      • If you get the oil and I still have the dry shampoo, I’d love to swap. I’m micole on the swap site.

    • To be able to select colors you have to prepay for the year. Anyone can pick choice items as long as you sign up before the window closes which was June 4th for this season. That is a new feature they implemented this Spring.

  49. This is by far the absolute worst box to date! Don’t like one thing sooooooooo glad I passed thank god!

    • I like that! I am going to try it and see how it turns out. I have two small kids so this could be really cute. Thanks for the idea

      • You’re welcome Julie S. Another idea I found on Pinterest for the art set is to turn it into a jewelry organizer/display. Step 1: cover the canvas frame with a scarf (it could be a great way to use up a sub box scarf that you don’t want to wear). Step 2: staple the scarf onto the back of the canvas frame. Step 3: screw hooks onto the bottom wood of the frame.
