This is the third delivery from Stan Lee and was themed “It’s Not Easy Begin Green”!
You’ll get a large pamphlet. The front has a bit from Stan Lee himself revolving around the theme. He gets into a great bit of detail about the creation of The Hulk character!
Inside, you’ll see all of the items in your box – also the item variations that you could have received.
They even go into a bit more detail on the back of the card about the color green in the Marvel Universe.
Green Eggs and Stan Shirt – Value $15?
This month’s shirt is a Green Eggs and Ham parody shirt featuring Stan himself. There is a great story behind this shirt that was detailed in the card – during WW2, Stan Lee joined the Army and worked on communication materials with the one and only, Dr. Suess – Theodor Seuss Geisel.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2: Groot POP – Value $15 on Amazon
With the release of Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s great to see a Funko POP from the movie in the box!
Everyone got the same Baby Groot variation – but there are a TON of variant POPs for this movie.
Jada Metals Diecast: She-Hulk – Value $13 on Amazon
You’ll get either a Hulk or She-Hulk diecast figure.
The figures stand 3-4 inches tall and are 100% diecast metal.
Interestingly enough, She-Hulk is one of the last characters created by Stan Lee before a 12-year hiatus. I’m curious if we’ll ever see this character in the movie universe?
Green Apple Jones Soda – Value $2-3?
You’ll get Stan’s own variation of Jones Soda – this exclusive green apple flavor!
Naturally, the man himself is branded on the label – the drink itself is very good and green apple-y.
Hulk: Season One – Retail $25 ($11 on Amazon)
I’ve received numerous “Season One” hardback volumes in comic boxes. This one features The Hulk – because there HAS to be a Hulk item in a green-themed box!
These are usually good little primer stories featuring origin stories. So it’s good for the beginner.
You’ll also find another envelope in the box – there are a number of items stored inside for extra safety.
The Zodiac Legacy: Tiger Island – Retail $8 ($4 on Amazon)
You’ll get something a little different this month – The zodiac Legacy from Stan Lee and Disney.
This is a young adult fantasy series – with Tiger Island being one entry of a larger universe.
Exclusive Marvel X-Men Prime #1 Variants – Value $10 + Exclusive Variant Covers
A new chapter for the X-Men starts with the Prime storyline, and brings back Kitty Pride!
I love this group of X-Men and have been waiting to start this series, so I was happy to get it this month.
Here’s more about the overall story:
RESURRXION BEGINS HERE! In the wake of their war with the Inhumans, the X-MEN are at a crossroads. Where do they go from here? Luckily, one beloved X-Men has the answer to that question: Xavier’s dream comes full circle as KITTY PRYDE returns to the X-Men, ready to lead them in their mission to protect a world that hates and fears them. The next chapter of the X-Men’s saga starts here!
Stan Lee, Hulk, and Thor 8×10 – Value $10?
You’ll get an 8×10 print of a photo from 1988 featuring Eric Kramer as Thor and Lou Ferrigno as The Hulk!
Todd Nauck X-Men Prime Illustration – Value $10?
You’ll also get an illustration from the X-Men Prime cover artist!
You can read a bit more about the artist on the back.
Fun Facts Collector Card – Value $2?
Every delivery comes with a Marvel Fun Fact – this month talks about Stan Lee’s favorite actor.
The last item is a set of ‘Excelsior’ stickers.
Verdict: I’ve enjoyed the Stan Lee Box so far – while it’s a high price, I like the benefit of knowing that this will be packed full of Marvel stuff. Apart from that, I’ve liked reading the little tidbits from Stan about each item and the theme. In the future, I’ve like to see them get exclusive variants for the figures – I think that might be the push it needs for the $50 price tag.
