The Stan Lee Box - April 2017 - Green Eggs & Stan Shirt

Green Eggs and Stan Shirt – Value $15?

This month’s shirt is a Green Eggs and Ham parody shirt featuring Stan himself. There is a great story behind this shirt that was detailed in the card – during WW2, Stan Lee joined the Army and worked on communication materials with the one and only, Dr. Suess – Theodor Seuss Geisel.

The Stan Lee Box - April 2017 - Jada Metals Diecast - She-Hulk Back

The Stan Lee Box - April 2017 - Jada Metals Diecast - She-Hulk Box

Interestingly enough, She-Hulk is one of the last characters created by Stan Lee before a 12-year hiatus. I’m curious if we’ll ever see this character in the movie universe?

The Stan Lee Box - April 2017 - Hulk: Season One Cover

Hulk: Season One – Retail $25 ($11 on Amazon)

I’ve received numerous “Season One” hardback volumes in comic boxes. This one features The Hulk – because there HAS to be a Hulk item in a green-themed box!

The Stan Lee Box - April 2017 - X-Men Prime #1 Inside

I love this group of X-Men and have been waiting to start this series, so I was happy to get it this month.

Here’s more about the overall story:

RESURRXION BEGINS HERE! In the wake of their war with the Inhumans, the X-MEN are at a crossroads. Where do they go from here? Luckily, one beloved X-Men has the answer to that question: Xavier’s dream comes full circle as KITTY PRYDE returns to the X-Men, ready to lead them in their mission to protect a world that hates and fears them. The next chapter of the X-Men’s saga starts here!

Every delivery comes with a Marvel Fun Fact – this month talks about Stan Lee’s favorite actor.

The Stan Lee Box - April 2017 - Excelsior Sticker

Excelsior Stickers

The last item is a set of ‘Excelsior’ stickers.

Verdict: I’ve enjoyed the Stan Lee Box so far – while it’s a high price, I like the benefit of knowing that this will be packed full of Marvel stuff. Apart from that, I’ve liked reading the little tidbits from Stan about each item and the theme. In the future, I’ve like to see them get exclusive variants for the figures – I think that might be the push it needs for the $50 price tag.

  1. The Jones soda is a fun & creative item for a geeky box. It also reminds me of Stan Lee’s cameo in The Incredible Hulk.

  2. LOVE the Groot and shehulk figures, and the hulk book, everything else is meh. I just don’t get the Stan fandom? Do people want him on their shirts? Meh, to each their own.

    • Nor do I. What especially kills me is how he always has PSA on hand to authenticate the autograph of his that he just signed at con. Thing is, there is no point. He signs SO often that there is no rarity it in and so it’ll never be worth much. All I can figure is he gets a cut of the proceeds.
