I had a lot of fun scrolling through the Rocksbox site, adding jewelry to my wishlist. The site offer a wide range of styles, from minimalist to bold, though everything has a pretty modern vibe to it.
This little booklet reveals what picks made it into this month's set. I love that it starts out with a note from my stylist, Jessica. It makes the process feel all the more personal.
Hooray! All three of my picks this month are things I put in my wishlist! (I'm not too surprised—I put a lot in there.)
My plan is to wear these pieces a bit, then return the box for another set next month. So I loved having these tips about how to care for my rented jewelry handy. I suppose they're also good for people planning to keep their pieces since these are also great ways to help extend the life and brilliance of your jewelry.
There's also a little fold-up booklet outlining all the benefits of Rocksbox.
I love the crisp, pretty design of all the promotional materials in the box.
Slate Eva Pendant Necklace - Member Price $58.00
I love this necklace! I'm really into the whole marble trend, so I love the natural stone textures of this pendant.
It has a nice weight to it, as well. It doesn't feel cheap, like something you'd get at a mall chain store. And the bright gold is just enough shine to make an everyday outfit look a bit more polished and put together.
The chain hangs pretty long on me, which I like. I tend to wear a lot of neutrals (black, gray, white...), so I like pieces like this that add a pop to visual interest to a simple outfit.
Slate Hunter Stone Studs - Member Price $40.00
More marble! I'm realizing that this subscription is also great for learning about new brands I like. I've never heard of Slate before, but I'm really enjoying their pieces!
I could see myself wearing these studs everywhere. They're simple and subtle enough to work with casual outfits, but the pop of gold gives them enough pizzazz to work with nicer dresses or professional outfits, too.
Gorjana Power Gemstone Bracelet in Gold and Snowflake Obsidian - Member Price $38.00
The final piece is a different brand, but it still fits within the gold and stone motif. This bracelet has a bit of a summery, boho vibe, but it's still minimal and modern.
It's really comfortable to wear, though it's a little hard to put on. You tighten it by tugging on the bead-embellished cords, which can be tricky when you're wearing it. But it looks so darn effortlessly cool that I'm not worried about it.
Verdict: I loved my first set from Rocksbox! I like that I have a little control over what pieces I end up getting, but that the stylist curates the items I like into a coordinated set. For $21.00 a month (+ free shipping), I get access to about $136.00 of jewelry for as long as I'd like. And I'm super into the idea of trying before I buy—being able to wear a piece (and with a bunch of outfits) makes me feel way more confident about actually investing in it.
