If you couldn't tell by the "Stay Regular" sticker on the front of the package, Mini Mystery Box by Jamminbutter is unpredictable, a little silly, and super random.
The first card in the box is actually a scratch-and-win card. It's been forever since I've done a scratch-off, so this was actually kind of fun. However, you do have to make a purchase on the 13 Deals website in order to see what you've won. I wish I knew right away!
The back of the card is this promo for this very subscription!
There's another card that has info on their Mini Monthly Box for Dogs. (check out our reviews here!)
On the back, there's information about the special surprise gift for next month. Apparently, each month, some subscribers will randomly get one super cool item rather than the usual bag of smaller items. Next month, subscribers can cross their fingers for a pocket projector!
There's also a coupon code for Hello Fresh!
Clear2Go Water Bottle and Filter - Value $7.49
This water bottle actually has a filter inside the lid, so that you can enjoy filtered water from anywhere.
This 24 oz. bottle is BPA free and can apparently filter 100 gallons of tap water before losing steam. It specializes in removing particles of aesthetic chlorine and microbial cysts such as cryptosporidium and giardia. I think the tap water in my area is in pretty good shape, but it's still nice to have a water bottle that can help me feel extra confident in it.
Massage Ball Medium Density - Value $4.79?
I'm not sure if what I linked to is the exact product, but I think it's fair in terms of providing value. I love using balls like this one to do a little post-yoga-flow massage—it helps break up tight, hard-working muscles.
I've never used a ball with little spikes before, though! It definitely adds to the sensation. Even though the ball is only "medium density," it's still quite firm. You have to take your time easing into it!
Handy Clip Knife - Value $5.58?
I couldn't find this exact gadget online, so I linked to something very similar. All of my keys are on a carabiner. I love being able to hook it to the strap of my purse or to a belt loop on my jeans if I need my hands-free. But a carabiner with... a knife on it?
This knife flips out of the back of the carabiner like a pocket knife. Will this "handy" knife really be useful as I bop around my city neighborhood? Uh... I don't think so? (I should say, I hope not.) But if I ever go camping (which I don't do often) I could see this being helpful to have.
My only concern, of course, is having a knife tucked in what's basically a cheap carabiner. It seems relatively sturdy, but I know that I'm a big klutz. Let's just say I don't want to just throw this in my purse and have to go rooting around for it!
Verdict: This month's Mini Mystery Box by Jamminbutter only had 3 items inside, which was a few less than last month. I do find all of them pretty practical, which helps me get the full value out of the box. It's only $9.99 after all (with free shipping), and I did estimate that the items were worth about $18.00. Whether you love what you get is all in the luck of the draw, so I consider myself to have really lucked out this month!
